Read these instructions carefully before use and keep them for future reference. Your child’s safety may be affected if you do not follow these instructions.
WARNING:
DO NOT use the seat in sleeping position or the carrying handle in carrying position when installed in your car.
WARNING:
EXTREME HAZARD - DO NOT
use on a passenger seat fitted with activated airbag.
WARNING:
ONLY use the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® on forward facing passenger seat.
WARNING:
ONLY rear facing installation of car seat allowed.
WARNING:
ONLY install the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® with a 3-point-belt approved to UN/ECE regulation No. 16 or other equivalent standards.
WARNING:
Always secure your child with the harness provided in the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe®.
WARNING:
Make sure both 3-point-belt and child safety belt are tightened firmly, in order to prevent any unwanted dislocation of child or Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe®. Check frequently.
WARNING:
All passengers shall be fastened by a safety belt. BeSafe® directly on to the passenger seat. DO NOT use anything, such as a cushion or coat, to raise the car seat off the passenger seat.

Rigid items and plastic parts of the tokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® must be located and installed so that they are not liable, during everyday use of the vehicle, to become trapped by a movable seat or in a door of the vehicle.
WARNING:
An unoccupied Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® shall still be fastened in the car.
WARNING:
DO NOT attempt to dismantle, modify or add to any part to the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® or change the way your passenger seatbelts are made or used.
WARNING:
Never use the two wheel function when the Stokke® iZi
Sleep™ by BeSafe® is attached to the Stokke® Xplory®.
WARNING:
Always make sure the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® is properly attached to the Stokke® Xplory®. Failure to attach properly could result in serious injury or death to your child.
WARNING:
When the car seat is attached to the Stokke® Xplory® chassis, the combination shall never be lifted up by the car seat.
WARNING:
Always remove your child while making adjustments to the stroller and/or the car seat.

NEVER leave your child unattended in the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe®.

DO NOT use the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® for longer than 5 years. Due to ageing, the quality of the material may change.

Always check the carrying handle is upright and locked properly before carrying.
WARNING:
DO NOT place the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® child safety seat on a table or worktop.
WARNING:
The cover is a safety feature. Never use the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® without it.
WARNING:
DO NOT use any aggressive cleaning products; these may harm the construction material of the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe®.

Introduction Do not use this product until you have thoroughly read and understood this user guide. In order to provide as much convenience as possible, the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® seat introduces its innovative reclining-system: outside the car your child can comfortably rest and sleep in the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe®, by being laid down completely flat. Stokke advises that child seats shall not be bought or sold second-hand. Many seats sold through local advertising and car-boot sales have been found to be dangerous. Assemble the sun hood
Slide the hood frame (8) straight down into the hood rotator (9) until you hear a confirming ‘click’. The visor can be twisted to give more protection. To remove, undo the four poppers and push the clips on the hood frame (8) so it releases the sun hood (7) from the hood rotator (9).
Fasten four poppers to the hood rotator (9) and at the back of the sun hood (7) to the upper cover (11).
Installation in the car Important: Correct seat belts
Shoulder belt Lap belt This is a 3-point-belt This is a 2-point-belt Make sure that any airbag in front of the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® is deactivated, this means turning the airbag OFF so it DOES NOT inflate if you have an accident. Consult your cars user guide if in doubt on how to deactivate the airbag. Make sure that the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® is placed in a rear facing position.
Make sure the carrying handle (10) is in the carrying position.
Pull the 3-point-belt around the back of the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® and fasten the seat belt with a ‘click’. Make sure the lap belt of the 3-point-belt is placed between base (16) and lower seat shell.
Pull the 3-point-belt through the shoulder belt guide (12) and belt slot (14), only at the buckle side. Follow the blue indications on the seat. Tighten the 3-point-belt firmly around the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe®.
Press the handle release buttons (2)on the inside of the handle and move the carrying handle (tightener) (10) to the furthest possible of the two ‘safe-to-drive’ positions.
For better contact, place the backrest of the passenger seat more upright, if possible.
Check the ‘safe-to-drive’ indication (1) on the carrying handle (10), near the handle release button (2). Correct installation: ‘Safe-to-drive’ indication on carrying handle don’t drive safe-to-drive Positioning in car Allowed positions in car, only with 3-point-belt.

Fitting your child in the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® Position of harness (3)
Too high Too low Correct Adjusting the harness (3): Open the storage compartment (22) on the back of the car seat. Detach the harness adjuster (21), and place it in the correct position by supporting the strap from the inside. Make sure adjuster is clicked in. Lay the harness (3) over the sides of the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe®, before your child is seated. Put the child in the seat and place the harness over the shoulder and close the harness buckle (4). Pull the central adjuster (5). Just two fingers should fit between child and harness. The harness shall not be twisted.
When the child weighs over 13kg or the child’s head grows above the seat, the child shall change to a group 1 seat, for instance the iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe®.

Rocking chair, infant-carrier Sleeping chair To put the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® into the sleeping position, push both handle release buttons (2) on the inside of the carrying handle (10) and move the handle to the head of the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe®.
After an accident After an accident, the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® and your car seatbelts shall be replaced. Although they may look undamaged, they may not be able to protect your child as well as they should.
Removing and refitting the cover Pay attention when removing the cover, refitting is done in reverse order. Remove the head hugger, the harness padding and the sun hood. Removing the upper cover (11):
Detach the cover from the small hooks on both sides of the back part and from the hood rotator (9). Release the rubber bands that attach the cover to the inside of the back. Open the zippers on both sides and detach the Velcro tape. Pull the cover from the seat plate.
Removing the lower cover (13):
Detach the elastic knots of the lower cover. Pull the cover over the central adjuster (5). Detach the elastics which attach the cover to the inside of the seatpart of the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe®.
Refitting the cover Refit the cover, using the instructions above in reversed order. Start by pulling the cover over the seat plate. Washing instructions
The covers of the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® shall be washed in accordance with instructions (on the inside of the covers). Clean harness by hand with water and mild soap.
Using the seat with a Stokke® Xplory® + Stokke® Crusi
Align the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® connecter house (17) above the seatarm on the stroller and move straight down until you hear a confirming ‘click’.
Check that the connecter indicator (18) is green. Move the carrying handle (10) into sleeping position.
Never use the two wheel mode as long as the Stokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® is assembled to the Stokke® Xplory® chassis. Removing from a stroller Move the carrying handle (10) into carrying position. Push the connecter handle (19) upwards and lift the tokke® iZi Sleep™ by BeSafe® vertically from the stroller, with the carrying handle (10).
Right of complaint The customer has a right of complaint pursuant to the consumer protection legislation applicable at any given time, which legislation may vary from country to country. Generally speaking, Stokke AS does not grant any additional rights over and above those laid down by the legislation applicable at any given time. The right of complaint is only valid when you use your seat appropriately and with care. Please contact your dealer. They will decide if the seat should be returned to the manufacturer for repair. Replacement or return cannot be claimed when repair is possible. The right of complaint does not get extended through repair. The right of complaint is annulled:
- When there is no receipt.
- When defects are caused by wrong and improper use.
- When defects are caused by abuse, misuse or negligence.
- When non-original parts or accessories are used. Point of sale information This is a ‘Universal’ child restraint. It is approved to regulation No. 44.04 series of amendments, for general use in vehicles and it will fit most, but not all, car seats. A correct fit is likely if the vehicle manufacturer has declared in the vehicle handbook that the vehicle is capable of accepting a ‘Universal’ child restraint for this age group. This child restraint has been classified as ‘Universal’ under more stringent conditions then those which applied to earlier designs which do not carry this notice.
