Supervise children that they do not play with the grass shear adapter or the screw- driver with mounted grass shear adapter. Remove the grass shear adapter from the screwdriver when not us- ing it. Ensure that the blade is covered by the blade guard when not in use. Check whether the shield belonging to the grass shear adapter is un- damaged. The shield is intended to protect the user against accidental contact with the blade. Keep the blade sharp and clean. A properly maintained blade with sharp cutting edges is less likely to bind and is easier to control. Do not cut wood, stone, concrete or cables. The blade will be blunted and can bind. Always wear protective glasses, sturdy shoes and long trousers when working with the screwdriver with grass shear adapter. Avoid taking up an abnormal posture and ensure that you have a firm footing. Always retain your balance, especially on hills or slopes. Hav- ing a firm footing and a suitable posture will enable you to control the screwdriver with grass shear adapter better in unexpected situations. Assembly The blade is not intended to be changed. Attaching the Grass Shear Adapter (see figures A1 –A2) – Before mounting the grass shear adapter 1, you have to pull the rubber cap 9 of the screwdriver off toward the front. – Press the locking switch 8 of the grass shear adapter downward. – Set the rotational direction switch 6 to the middle position. – Attach the grass shear adapter 1 with mounted blade guard 3 to the screwdriver. The grass shear adapter 1 must audibly engage. – Remove the blade guard 3. This enables you to achieve the optimum working position for the job at hand, e. g. for cutting lawn edges. Dismounting (see figures B1–B2) – Press the locking switch 8 of the grass shear adapter downward. – Set the rotational direction switch 6 to the middle position. – Slide the blade guard 3 onto the blade 2 (). The blade guard 3 must au- dibly engage. – Turn the release ring 5 in rotation direction and pull off the grass shear adapter 1 (). – Afterwards, mount the rubber cap 9 onto the screwdriver again. Operation Starting Operation Place the screwdriver with grass shear adapter on the blade to put it down. This prevents moisture from penetrating into the power tool. Switching On and Off – Pull off the blade guard 3 of the blade 2. –To start the screwdriver with grass shear adapter, press the locking switch 8 upward. – Set the rotational direction using the rotational direction switch 6. The grass shear adapter can be operated in right or left rotation. – Press switch 7 and hold depressed. – To switch off the grass shear adapter, let go of the On/Off switch 7. – Set the rotational direction switch 6 to the middle position. – Press the locking switch 8 downward. – Attach the blade guard 3 to the blade 2. The blade guard 3 must audibly engage. Edging Guide the screwdriver with grass shear adapter along the lawn edge. Prevent the blade from coming into contact with paved paths, stones or garden walls because this significantly reduces the lifetime of the blade. Attach the blade guard to the blade again after use. Let go of the On/Off switch 7 and press the locking switch 8 downward. Warning! The blade continues to move for a few seconds after the screwdriver with grass shear adapter has been switched off. Do not touch the moving blade. Wait until the blade is at standstill and then remove the blockage. Maintenance and Service Maintenance and Cleaning Always wear safety gloves when you are doing maintenance or ser- vice work. Set the rotational direction switch to the middle position. Before any maintenance or cleaning work, press the locking switch downward and remove the grass shear adapter from the screwdriver. Keep the blade clean to ensure good, safe operation. – Inspect the grass shear adapter 1 regularly for visible defects such as loose fixings and worn or damaged components. – After each work clean the grass shear adapter 1 with a paintbrush or a soft brush and lubricate the blade 2 with the Bosch maintenance spray. Do not use any solvents or polishes!
