Bosch Power Tools 1 609 92A 7AW | (25.02.2022)12 | English The vibration level and noise emission value given in these instructions have been measured in accordance with a standardised measuring procedure and may be used to com- pare power tools. They may also be used for a preliminary estimation of vibration and noise emissions. The stated vibration level and noise emission value repres- ent the main applications of the power tool. However, if the power tool is used for other applications, with different ap- plication tools or is poorly maintained, the vibration level and noise emission value may differ. This may significantly increase the vibration and noise emissions over the total working period. To estimate vibration and noise emissions accurately, the times when the tool is switched off or when it is running but not actually being used should also be taken into account. This may significantly reduce vibration and noise emissions over the total working period. Implement additional safety measures to protect the oper- ator from the effects of vibration, such as servicing the power tool and application tools, keeping their hands warm, and organising workflows correctly. Rechargeable battery Bosch sells some cordless power tools without a re- chargeable battery. You can tell whether a rechargeable bat- tery is included with the power tool by looking at the pack- aging. Charging the battery u Use only the chargers listed in the technical data. Only these chargers are matched to the lithium-ion battery of your power tool. Note: Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are supplied par- tially charged according to international transport regula- tions. To ensure full rechargeable battery capacity, fully charge the rechargeable battery before using your tool for the first time. Inserting the Battery Push the charged battery into the battery holder until it clicks into place. Removing the Battery To remove the rechargeable battery, press the battery re- lease button and pull the battery out. Do not use force to do this. The rechargeablebattery has two locking levels to prevent the battery from falling out if the battery releasebutton is pressed unintentionally. The rechargeable battery is held in place by a spring when fitted in the power tool. Battery charge indicator The green LEDs on the battery charge indicator indicate the state of charge of the battery. For safety reasons, it is only possible to check the state of charge when the power tool is not in operation. Press the button for the battery charge indicator or to show the state of charge. This is also possible when the bat- tery is removed. If no LED lights up after pressing the button for the battery charge indicator, then the battery is defective and must be replaced. Only store the battery within a temperature range of −20 to 50°C. Do not leave the battery in your car in the summer, for example. Occasionally clean the ventilation slots on the battery using a soft brush that is clean and dry. A significantly reduced operating time after charging indic- ates that the battery has deteriorated and must be replaced. Follow the instructions on correct disposal. Operation Starting Operation Switching On and Off To switch on the power tool, slide the on/off switch(3) for- wards so that I appears on the switch. To switch off the power tool, slide the on/off switch(3) backwards so that 0 appears on the switch. Restart protection The restart protection feature prevents the power tool from uncontrolled starting after the power supply to it has been interrupted. 1 609 92A 7AW | (25.02.2022) Bosch Power ToolsEnglish | 13 To restart the tool, set the on/off switch(3) to the off posi- tion and then switch the power tool on again. Soft start The electronic soft start limits the torque when the power tool is switched on and increases the service life of the mo- tor. Changing the cutting direction To change the cutting direction, the die holder(7) can be turned to three positions, each offset by 90°. Cutting to- wards the rear (towards the housing of the machine) is not possible. To turn the die holder(7), loosen the die holder screw(4) until the die holder can be turned. Turn it 90° to the right or the left in relation to the longitudinal axle of the power tool. Make sure that the screw(4) engages in the drill hole of the die holder(7). Tighten the screw. Working Advice u Remove the battery from the power tool before carry- ing out work on the power tool (e.g. maintenance, changing tool, etc.). The battery should also be re- moved for transport and storage. There is risk of injury from unintentionally pressing the on/off switch. u This power tool is not suitable for bench-mounted use. It must not be clamped into a vice or fastened to a work- bench, for example. u Wear protective gloves during work. Sharp burrs de- velop on the cut sheets; these can cause injury. u Exercise caution when handling the cutting chips. The chips have sharp tips that can cause injuries. Apply the power tool to the workpiece only when switched on. Always hold the power tool vertical to the surface of the steel sheet and do not tilt it. The cut is made as the punch moves downwards. Guide the power tool evenly, pushing it gently in the cutting direction. Applying too much pressure to the power tool will signific- antly reduce the service life of application tools and can damage the power tool. The power tool operates more quietly when it is raised slightly during cutting. If the punch jams during cutting, switch the power tool off, lubricate the punch and release the sheet. Do not use force to do this, as this will damage the punch and the die. Maximum steel sheet cutting capacity The maximum steel sheet cutting capacity d max depends on the strength properties of the material to be cut. The power tool allows for cutting of metal sheet to the follow- ing thicknesses: Material max. strength (N/mm
