Noise and vibration
i NOTE
Values for the Arated noise level as well as vibration total values can be gleaned from the table "Technical data".
The noise and vibration values have been determined in accordance with EN 62841.
WARNING!
The indicated measurements refer to new power tools. Daily use causes the noise and vibration values to change.
i NOTE
The vibration emission level given in this information sheet has been measured in accordance with a standardised test given in EN 62841 and may be used to compare one tool with another. It may be used for a preliminary assessment of exposure. The declared vibration emission level represents the main applications of the tool. However, if the tool is used for different applications, with different cutting accessories or poor maintenance, the vibration emission level may differ. This may significantly increase the exposure level over the total working period. To make an accurate estimation of the vibration exposure level, it is also necessary to take into account the times when the tool is switched off or running but not actually in use. This may significantly decrease the exposure level over the total working period. Identify additional safety measures to protect the operator from the effects of vibration such as: tool and accessory maintenance, keep hands warm, standard operating procedures.
CAUTION
Wear ear defenders at a sound pressure above 85 dB(A).

Operating instructions
i NOTE When it is switched off, the power tool continues to run briefly.
Setting the distance between the blades
The blade distance is set to a sheet metal thickness of 1mm when the machine is delivered.
Check the distance of the blades with the feeler gauge.
The following values must be set in order to get optimal cutting results:
| Sheet metal thick-ness in mm | Blade distance in mm |
| 0.3–0.6 0.1 | |
| 0.7–1.2 0.2 | |
| 1.3–1.6 0.3 |
CAUTION! The blades must not touch.
Setting the distance
- Tap the on/off switch multiple times until the upper blade reaches the bottom dead centre.
Remove the battery.
Loosen the lower blade. - Set the blade to the required distance with the adjusting screw and the Allen key.
Retighten the blade.
Slightly adjust the adjusting screw.
Check the distance with a feeler gauge.
Cutting
i NOTE
The power tool may only be introduced to the material to be machined when it is switched on.

- Keep the power tool inclined at an angle of 80^ - 90^ to the sheet metal surface. Avoid tilting to the side.
When cutting radii, work only with a low feed, and do not tilt.
Guide the power tool in the cutting direction, evenly and with gentle propulsion. Too strong a feed significantly reduces the service life of the insertion tools and can damage the power tool.
- Do not cut sheet metal at available welding points.
- Do not cut multi-layered sheet metal that exceeds the maximum material thickness.
To improve the cutting result and increase the service life of the blades, applying a lubricant along the planned cutting line before machining is recommended:
-
Cuts in a steel sheet: Cutting paste or cutting oil
-
Cuts in aluminium: Petroleum
i NOTE
Only switch the power tool off after you have pulled it out of the cut mark.
Cut at the edge in an overhead position. The cutting table points upwards.
i NOTE
Depending on the sheet metal thickness or tensile strength of the workpiece, there is a choice of two different blade types for machining.
Standard blade:
- Suitable for sheet metal with a tensile strength of ≤ 400N / mm^2
No special identification.
Chromium steel blade:
- Identified by 'Cr'
(not included in the scope of supply)
For these reasons, it is recommended to use tools only according to the specifications in the table:
| Aluminium | 250 N/mm2 | 0.3-2.0 (standard) |
| Construc-tion steel | 400 N/mm2 | 0.3-1.6 (standard) |
| Stainless steel | 600 N/mm2 | 0.3-1.2 (Cr) |
| 800 N/mm2 | 0.3-1.0 (Cr) |
Blade properties
The blades have four sharp cutting edges. If an edge has become blunt, the blades are each turned by 90^ (next sharp cutting edge).
If you can see that a considerably increased feed force is achieving little work progress, the blade is worn out.
The upper blade and lower blade are identically shaped and can be used anywhere (top or bottom).
CAUTION!
The blades are not suitable for sharpening. If all four cutting edges have become blunt, the blades must be replaced. Never work with blunt blades.
Maintenance and care
WARNING!
Remove the battery before carrying out any work on the power tool.
Cleaning
WARNING!
When working with metals for prolonged periods, electrically conductive dust could build up inside the housing of the tool. This would impair the protective isolation! Operate the machine using an earth leakage circuit breaker (30 mA trigger current).
- Regularly clean the power tool and ventilation slots. Frequency of cleaning is dependent on the material and duration of use.
Regularly blow out the housing interior and motor with dry compressed air.
Clean dust filter at regular intervals.

- Remove dust filter and blow out with dry compressed air.
Gear
i NOTE
Do not loosen the screws on the gear head during the warranty period. Failure to comply with this requirement will invalidate any claims under the manufacturer's warranty.
Repairs
Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised customer service centre.
Replacement of wear parts Upper blade/upper blade
