Frequently Asked Questions - Numeric Flex

How do I set the date and time on my Flex Numeric phone?
To set the date and time, press the Menu button, navigate to Settings > Date & Time, and use the numeric keypad to enter the correct values. Confirm with OK.
Why does my handset display 'No Base'?
This usually indicates the handset is out of range of the base station or not registered. Move closer to the base, or re-register the handset by pressing the Find button on the base and following the handset registration procedure.
How can I increase the ringer volume?
Press the Volume Up (usually marked with a +) button on the side of the handset while idle, or go to Menu > Sounds > Ringer Volume and adjust.
Can I use rechargeable batteries other than the ones provided?
Yes, but ensure they are NiMH AAA batteries with at least 600mAh capacity for optimal performance. Do not use alkaline batteries as they may damage the handset.
How do I listen to voicemail messages?
If you have an answering machine, press the Play button on the base or dial the answering machine access code from the handset. For network voicemail, hold the 1 key to call your voicemail box.
What is the best way to clean the phone?
Unplug the base and remove batteries from the handset. Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
How do I register an additional handset?
Put the base in registration mode (press and hold the Find button for 5 seconds). On the handset, go to Menu > Settings > Register, and follow the prompts.
Why is there no dial tone?
Check the telephone line cord connection to the base and wall jack. Ensure the handset is registered. If using a DSL filter, verify it is installed correctly.
Can I block unwanted calls?
Yes, if your model supports call blocking. Go to Menu > Call Block and add numbers to the block list. Some models require a subscription to a network call blocking service.
How do I reset the phone to factory settings?
Press Menu, navigate to Settings > Factory Reset, and confirm. This erases all personal settings and phonebook entries. Note that the base and handsets will need re-registration.
