9. Battery tool use and care.

11. Tipsformaintainingmaximumbatterylife.

  • Chargethebatterycartridgebeforecompletely discharged. Always stop tool operation and charge the battery cartridge when you notice less tool power.
  • Neverrechargeafullychargedbatterycartridge. Overchargingshortensthebatteryservicelife.
  • Charge the battery cartridge with room temperature at 10 °C - 40 °C (50 °F - 104 °F). Let a hot battery cartridge cooldownbeforechargingit.
  • Whennotusingthebatterycartridge,removeitfromthe tool or the charger.
  • Chargethebatterycartridgeifyoudonotuseitforalong period (more than six months). CAUTION:OnlyusegenuineMakitabatteries.Useof non-genuine Makita batteries, or batteries that have been altered,mayresultinthebatteryburstingcausingres personalinjuryanddamage.ItwillalsovoidtheMakita warrantyfortheMakitatoolandcharger. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CAUTION:
  • Alwaysbesurethattheapplianceisswitchedo󰀨,and thebatterycartridgeisremovedbeforeadjustingor checkingfunctionontheappliance. Installing or removing battery cartridge CAUTION:
  • Hold the appliance and the battery cartridge rmly when installing or removing battery cartridge. Failure to hold the appliance and the battery cartridge rmlymaycausethemtoslipo󰀨yourhandsandresult in damage to the appliance and battery cartridge and a personalinjury.

  • Alwaysinstallthebatterycartridgefullyinplace.Ifnot,it mayaccidentallyfalloutoftheappliance,causinginjury to you or someone around you.
  • Donotinstallthebatterycartridgeforcibly.Ifthecartridge does not slide in easily, it is not being inserted correctly. Useofnon-genuineMakitabatteries,orbatteriesthathave beenaltered,willvoidtheMakitawarrantyfortheMakita appliance and charger. Turning on the light and brightness mode selection (Fig. 4) 1.Switch:Presstheswitchonce,thelightturnson(Atthe same brightness mode as the last setting). Press the switchagain,thelightturnso󰀨. 2.Brightnessmodeselection:Brightnesssequenceis: Highmode/Lowmode/Highmodeforeachpresswhen the light is on. Battery protection system (Fig. 5) Theapplianceisequippedwithabatteryprotection systemtoextendbatterylife.Whenthebatterybecomes low, the LED lights go out except one LED as illustrated. Thenapproximatelyvetotenminuteslater,thesystem automaticallycutso󰀨power. OPERATION CAUTION:
  • Becarefulnottodroptheappliancewhenattachingthe appliance on the tripod.
  • Make sure that the appliance is attached securely on the tripod.
  • Remove the appliance when carrying the tripod or when foldingthelegsofthetripod.
  • Becarefulnottogetyourhandcaughtinthelegsofthe tripod when closing the tripod. MAINTENANCE CAUTION:
  • Alwaysbesurethattheapplianceisswitchedo󰀨,andthe batterycartridgeisremovedbeforeattemptingtoperform inspection or maintenance.
  • Neverusegasoline,benzine,thinner,alcoholorthelike. Discoloration,deformationorcracksmayresult. Only maintenance work described in this instruction manual maybeperformedbytheuser.Anyotherworkmustbe carriedoutbyMakitaauthorizedservicecenters. Cleaning CAUTION:
  • Never wash the appliance in water. Fromtimetotimewipeo󰀨theoutside(appliancebody)of the appliance using a cloth dampened in soapy water. OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES CAUTION:
