ENGLISH18 Care and maintenance WARNING! Before maintenance work, the unit must be depressurised. To ensure that the device works as correctly, the vacuum tube and the extraction hose of the FE soldering iron must be cleaned on a regular basis. If heavily soiled, the extraction tube can be placed in a sealed, gastight container and soaked in cleaning alcohol (ethanol) until the ux residues have dissolved. WARNING! Legal safety regulations on the handling of cleaning products must be observed when using such products. The cleaning product should be treated as hazardous waste. If the extraction capacity is no longer sufcient with cleaned FE soldering irons, the lters must be checked. The pre-lter can be replaced several times before the main lter has to be renewed. If original Weller lters are used properly, the service life of the particle lter and broadband gas lter are matched to each other. Before tting the new main lter cartridge, it should be marked with the installation date. The assembly of the unit is done in reverse order.
Warning: When inserting the lters, pay attention to the cor-
rect order and the installation position. The dirty lters must be treated as hazardous waste. Repairs must always be referred to a Weller-trained specialist. Use original replacement parts only. Filter change year MIN 1x The suspended matter lter and the broadband gas lter are complementary to one another and can be replaced together as a compact lter. The ne dust lter (lter mat) is the preliminary stage of the compact lter and therefore must be replaced more frequently. It is strongly recommended that the compact lter be replaced after no more than 10 ne dust lter changes. To ensure that the ltration system functions properly, the lter must be replaced as follows:
- at least once a year or
- if the maximum allowable workplace concentration is exceeded or
- as per maintenance schedule Contaminated lters must be treated as special waste. Wear suitable protective gear. Notice Different uxes and ux constituents and the amount of and size of dust particles in the extracted air will signi cantly effect the lters working life.Submicron particles in the extracted air increase when soldering or welding to varnish insulated wire.
