When not in use, store the machine out of reach of children. This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the machine by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the machine.
- Never operate the machine while people, especially children or pets, are nearby. The user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property. Other persons and animals should remain at a distance of 3 metres or
more when the machine is being used. The operator is responsible for third persons in the working area.
Use the machine only in daylight or good artificial light. - Never operate the product when you are tired, ill or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medicine. - Avoid operating the machine in bad weather conditions especially when there is a risk of lightning. Always wear substantial clothing on the upper body and limbs when operating this tool. Do not operate the machine when barefoot or wearing open sandals, always wear substantial footwear and long trousers. Failure to keep loose clothing from being drawn into air intake could result in personal injury. Do not operate without tubes in place. Failure to keep long hair away from the air inlet could result in personal injury. Thoroughly inspect the area where the machine is to be used and remove all wires and other foreign objects. - Check cable for damage before starting work and replace if necessary. Keep cable away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Always direct the cable to the rear away from the appliance. - Use the machine only in the correct orientation for its configuration. This machine is not designed for use inverted during vacuum mode.
- Never operate the leaf blower/garden vacuum with defective guards or shields, or without safety devices, for example collection bag in place. Always ensure all handles and guards supplied are fitted when using the leaf blower/garden vacuum. Never attempt to use an incomplete leaf blower/garden vacuum or one with an unauthorised modification. While operating the leaf blower/garden vacuum always be sure of a safe and secure operating position at all times. Always be aware of your surroundings and stay alert for possible hazards that you may not hear whilst operating the leaf blower/garden vacuum. Do not over reach and keep your balance at all times. Do not vacuum solid objects such as big branches, broken glass, pieces of metal and stones. A worn fan or blower housing (chips, cracks, nicks) may cause an increased risk of injury from thrown foreign objects. If the blower housing is damaged, consult the Bosch hotline.
Remove the plug from the socket:
- Whenever you leave the machine.
- Before checking, clearing a blockage or working on the leaf blower/garden vacuum.
- After striking a foreign object, inspect the leaf blower/garden vacuum for damage and make repairs as necessary.
- If the leaf blower/garden vacuum starts to vibrate abnormally check immediately.
Connecting to the mains
The voltage indicated on the rating plate must correspond to the voltage of the power source. We recommend that this equipment is only connected into a socket which is protected by a circuit-breaker that would be actuated by a 30 mA residual current. Only use or replace power supply cables for this unit which correspond to the types indicated by the manufacturer. See the operating instructions for the order no. and types. - Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
Do not run over, crush or pull the power supply cord or extension cord, otherwise it may be damaged. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp edges. The extension lead must have a cross section in accordance with the operating instructions and be protected against splashed water. The connection must not be in water.
Electrical Safety

Warning! Switch off, remove plug from mains before adjusting, cleaning or if cable is cut, damaged or entangled.
Motor Protector fitted! Motor fitted with safety overload protection. If motor stops working, allow a few minutes to cool, before restarting. If a cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect the supply cord from the mains immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE SUPPLY.
Your machine is double insulated for safety and requires no earth connection. The operating voltage is 230 V AC, 50 Hz (for non-EU countries 220 V, 240 V as applicable). Only use approved extension cables. Contact your Bosch Service Centre for details. For increased electrical safety use a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than 30 mA. Always check your RCD every time you use it.
Keep the supply cables away from moving hazardous parts and avoid damage to the cables; this can lead to contact with live parts.
The connections (plugs and sockets) should be kept dry and off the ground. The supply cables must be inspected for signs of damage at regular intervals and may only be used if in perfect condition.
If the supply cable on the product is damaged, it must only be replaced by a Bosch Service Centre.
Only use approved extension cables. Extension cords, cables, leads, reels should only be used if they comply with EN 61242/IEC 61242 or IEC 60884-2-7.
If you want to use an extension cable when operating your product, only the following cable dimensions should be used:
Nominal Conductor Area of 1.25 mm² or 1.5 mm². Maximum length of 30 m for a Cord Extension Set or maximum length of 60 m for a Cable Reel with Residual Current Device (RCD).
Note: If an extension cable is used it must be earthed and connected through the plug to the earth cable of your supply network in accordance with prescribed safety regulations. If in doubt contact a qualified electrician or the nearest Bosch Service Centre.

WARNING! Inadequate extension cables can be dangerous. Extension cable, plug and
14|English
socket must be of watertight construction and intended for outdoor use.
For products not sold in GB:
WARNING: For your safety, it is required that the plug attached to the product is connected with the extension cord. The coupling of the extension cord must be protected against splash water, be made of rubber or coated with rubber. The extension cord must be used with a cable strain relief.
- Products sold in GB only: Your product is fitted with a BS 1363/A approved electric plug with internal fuse (ASTA approved to BS 1362). If the plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place by an authorised customer service agent. The replacement plug should have the same fuse rating as the original plug.
The severed plug must be disposed of to avoid a possible shock hazard and should never be inserted into a mains socket elsewhere.
Products sold in AUS and NZ only: Use a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual current of 30 mA or less.
Maintenance
- Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to ensure that the leaf blower/garden vacuum is always in a safe working condition. The leaf blower/garden vacuum should be stored in a dry, high or locked up place out of the reach of children.
Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. Check the collection bag frequently for wear or deterioration. Do not attempt to repair the machine unless you are qualified to do so. Ensure replacement parts fitted are Bosch-approved.

Before using the garden shredder, read the operating instructions carefully. Use the garden shredder only for its intended purpose. The garden shredder is not designed to be held upside down during operation. Never work with the garden shredder/vacuum if the attachments (e.g., collection bag) are damaged or have been repaired. Before starting work, make sure that all parts included in the delivery are correctly and securely mounted on the garden shredder/vacuum. Never attempt to work with an incompletely assembled garden shredder/vacuum or one that has been modified without the manufacturer's approval. Proper operation of the garden shredder/vacuum requires that you maintain a stable stance and balance at all times.
Be aware of the specific working conditions and be alert to potential hazards that may not be obvious while operating the garden shredder/vacuum. Avoid unnatural body positions and constantly check your balance. Never walk fast; work at a steady pace. Regularly check that all safety devices are in place. Never vacuum leaves or debris in the direction of people nearby. Do not carry the garden shredder by the cable. It is recommended to wear a dust mask. Work with protective goggles. Do not make any modifications to the garden shredder. Unauthorized modifications may impair the safety of the garden shredder and lead to increased noise and vibration. Do not vacuum hard objects such as stones, metal, or glass.
Damaged pipes or housing (cracks, dents, cuts) increase the risk of injury due to ejected high-speed objects. If the housing is damaged, contact the manufacturer's service center.
Disconnect the plug from the outlet:
- When you move away from the garden shredder, - When you unclog the garden shredder/vacuum, remove a jammed object, or perform any maintenance on it, - After a collision with a foreign object. Always check the garden shredder/vacuum for damage and have it repaired if necessary, - If the garden shredder/vacuum starts to vibrate abnormally (check it immediately).
Connecting the machine
The voltage of the power supply must match the data on the rating plate of the garden shredder. It is recommended to connect this garden shredder only to an outlet that is protected by a residual current device with a tripping current of 30 mA.
The power tool is double insulated and can be plugged into a standard socket. Always use the extension cable recommended by the manufacturer, as specified in the operating instructions. Never touch the plug with wet hands. Do not pull or strain the cable, as this could damage it; be careful not to damage the insulation. Route the cable away from heat, oil, and sharp edges. The extension cable used must comply with the operating instructions, have the correct cross-section, and be protected against water splashes. Do not allow the plug to come into contact with water.
Electrical safety of the power tool
Warning! Before carrying out technical maintenance or cleaning of the power tool, disconnect the plug from the socket. This also applies if the extension cable is accidentally damaged or cut. The installation is equipped with motor protection! The motor is protected against overload.
Bulgarian | 169
If the motor stops, before restarting it, leave it for a few minutes to cool down.
If the extension cable is damaged during work, immediately disconnect the plug from the socket. Do not touch the damaged extension cable until you have disconnected the plug from the socket.
For increased safety, the power tool is double insulated and does not require grounding. The supply voltage is 230 V AC, 50 Hz (for countries outside the EU, 220 V or 240 V). Use only certified extension cables. You can obtain more information from your dealer.
For increased safety, use a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current of at most 30 mA. Before each use of the power tool, check the RCD.
Keep the extension cable at a safe distance from moving parts and protect it from damage, to avoid contact with the cable. The plug and contacts must be dry and not lie on the ground. The extension cable must be regularly checked.
Check for damage; use only cables in perfect condition.
If the machine's extension cable is damaged, it must be repaired only by an authorized service center for power tools.
Use only certified extension cables.
Use only extension cables that are approved and correspond to the requirements of standards EN 61242 / IEC 61242 and IEC 60884-2-7.
If you want to use an extension cable, it must have the correct cross-section:
- Conductor cross-section 1.25 mm² or 1.5 mm²
- Maximum length 30 m for extension cable or 60 m for cable reel. For fault current protection, a residual current device (FI- switch) is required.
Note: When using an extension cable, it must be with a protective conductor, because, as described in the safety instructions, it must be connected to the protective conductor of the mains supply.
If necessary, consult a qualified electrician or the nearest Bosch representative.

WARNING: An extension cable that does not meet the requirements may
endanger safety. Extension cables, plugs, and sockets must be in good condition and must be protected against water ingress.
