General Power Tool Safety Warnings

WARNING

Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

Before use, check the supply and extension cord for signs of damage or ageing. If the cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect the cord from the supply immediately.

DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE SUPPLY. Do not use the garden product if the cord is damaged or worn.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. When in use, perform a daily visual inspection to identify any significant damage or defects. This inspection must also be completed if the tool is dropped or subjected to any significant impacts. It is recommended for increased electrical safety to use a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than 30 mA. Always check your RCD every time you use it. ▶ Always ensure tool ventilation openings are kept free of debris. Before using the machine and after impact, check for signs of wear or damage and repair if necessary. ▶ Observe also the safety notes and instructions in the user manual of the power unit.

▶ Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine. Local regulations may restrict the age of the operator. When not in use, store the machine out of reach of children.

This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the machine by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the machine. The operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property. ▶ Other persons and animals should remain at a distance of 3 metres or more when the machine is being used. The operator is responsible for third persons in the working area. ▶ Never operate the machine while people, especially children or pets, are nearby. ▶ Never operate the product when you are tired, ill or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medicine. ▶ Avoid operating the machine in bad weather conditions especially when there is a risk of lightning. ▶ Always wear long heavy trousers, boots and gloves. Do not wear loose clothing, jewellery, short trousers, sandals or go barefoot. Secure hair so that it is above shoulder level to avoid entanglement with moving parts. ▶ Failure to keep loose clothing from being drawn into air intake could result in personal injury. ▶ Failure to keep long hair away from the air inlet could result in personal injury.

▶ Use the machine only in daylight or good artificial light. ▶ Always be sure of your footing on slopes. ▶ Walk. Never run with the product. ▶ Do not overreach and keep your balance at all times. ▶ Keep all cooling air inlets clear of debris. ▶ Never blow debris in the direction of bystanders. ▶ Switch off when transporting the blower to and from the area to be worked on. ▶ Wear safety eye protection and ear defenders when operating the machine. ▶ Wear eye protection which is marked to comply with EN 166 as well as hearing protection when using this machine. ▶ Wear a face filter mask in dusty conditions to reduce the risk of injury associated with the inhalation of dust. ▶ Do not touch moving hazardous parts before the machine is disconnected from the mains and moving hazardous parts have come to a complete stop. ▶ Switch off and remove the plug from the socket:

— whenever you leave the machine unattended for any period - if the cable is tangled — before cleaning or working on the blower — before removing the blower attachment

– before changing the multi-tool attachment

The extension pole may not be fitted to the blower attachment. ▶ Do not modify this product. Unauthorized modifications may impair the safety of your product and may result in increased noise and vibration. ▶ After use, disconnect the machine from the mains and check for damage. ▶ Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure that the machine is in safe working condition. ▶ Examine the machine and replace worn or damaged parts for safety. ▶ Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. ▶ Ensure replacement parts fitted are Bosch approved. ▶ Store the machine in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children.
