Recommendations for Optimal Handling of the Battery
Ensure the switch is in the off position before inserting battery pack. Inserting the battery pack into machines that have the switch on can cause accidents. Use only Bosch battery packs intended specifically for the machine. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire. Do not open the battery. Danger of short-circuiting.

Protect the battery against heat, e. g., against continuous intense sunlight, fire, water, and moisture. Danger of explosion.
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritations or burns.
In case of damage and improper use of the battery, vapours may be emitted. Ventilate the area and seek medical help in case of complaints. The vapours can irritate the respiratory system.
Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack. Use the battery only in conjunction with your Bosch product. This measure alone protects the battery against dangerous overload. The battery can be damaged by pointed objects such as nails or screwdrivers or by force applied externally. An internal short circuit can occur and the battery can burn, smoke, explode or overheat. Do not short-circuit the battery. There is danger of explosion. Protect the battery against moisture and water. Store the battery only within a temperature range between -20°C and 50°C. As an example, do not leave the battery in the car in summer. Occasionally clean the venting slots of the battery using a soft, clean and dry brush.
Safety Warnings for Battery Chargers

Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save these instructions.
Use the battery charger only when you fully understand and can perform all functions without limitation, or have received appropriate instructions.

This charger is not intended for use by children and persons with physical, sensory or mental limitations or a lack of experience or knowledge. This charger can be used by children aged 8 and above and by persons who have physical, sensory or mental limitations or a lack of experience or knowledge if a person responsible for their safety supervises them or has instructed them in the safe operation of the charger and they understand the associated dangers. Otherwise, there is a danger of operating errors and injuries. Supervise children during use, cleaning and maintenance. This will ensure that children do not play with the charger. Only charge Bosch lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 2.5 Ah or more (5 battery cells or more). The battery voltage must match the battery charging voltage of the charger. Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries. Otherwise there is danger of fire and explosion.

Keep the battery charger away from rain or moisture.
Penetration of water in the battery charger increases the risk of an electric shock.
Only charge Bosch lithium-ion batteries. The battery voltage must match the battery charging voltage of the charger. Otherwise there is danger of fire and explosion. Keep the battery charger clean. Contamination can lead to danger of an electric shock.
Before each use, check the battery charger, cable and plug. If damage is detected, do not use the battery charger. Never open the battery charger yourself. Have repairs performed only by a qualified technician and only using original spare parts. Damaged battery chargers, cables and plugs increase the risk of an electric shock. Do not operate the battery charger on easily inflammable surfaces (e.g., paper, textiles, etc.) or surroundings. The heating of the battery charger during the charging process can pose a fire hazard. Do not cover the ventilation slots of the battery charger. Otherwise, the battery charger can overheat and no longer operate properly. Products sold in GB only: Your product is fitted with a BS 1363/A approved electric plug with internal fuse (ASTA approved to BS 1362). If the plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place by an authorised customer service agent. The replacement plug should have the same fuse rating as the original plug.
The severed plug must be disposed of to avoid a possible shock hazard and should never be inserted into a mains socket elsewhere.
Products sold in AUS and NZ only: Use a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual current of 30 mA or less.

Starting
For Your Safety
Before any work on the garden product itself (e.g. maintenance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport and storage, remove the battery from the garden product. There is danger of injury when unintentionally actuating the On/Off switch. The machine continues to blow for a few seconds after being switched off. Allow the motor to stop rotating before switching "on" again. Do not rapidly switch off and on.
Battery Charging
▶ Do not use other battery chargers. The supplied battery charger is designed for the Lithium-Ion battery in your garden product. ▶ Observe the mains voltage! The voltage of the power supply must correspond with the data given on the name-plate of the battery charger. Battery chargers marked with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
The battery is equipped with temperature monitoring that allows charging only in the temperature range between 0 °C and 45 °C. In this manner, a high battery service life is achieved.
Note: The battery supplied is partially charged. To ensure full capacity of the battery, completely charge the battery in the battery charger before using your power tool for the first time. The lithium-ion battery can be charged at any time without reducing its service life. Interrupting the charging procedure does not damage the battery.
The “Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)” protects the lithium-ion battery against deep discharging. When the battery is run down or discharged, the garden product is shut off by means of a protective circuit: The garden product no longer operates.
IMPORTANT Do not continue to press the On/Off switch after the garden product has been automatically switched off. The battery can be damaged.
Charging Procedure
The charging procedure starts as soon as the mains plug of the battery charger is plugged into the socket outlet and the battery is inserted into the charging compartment.
Due to the intelligent charging method, the charging condition of the battery is automatically detected and the battery is charged with the optimum charging current, depending on battery temperature and voltage.
This gives longer life to the battery and always leaves it fully charged when kept in the charger for storage.
Meaning of the Indication Elements
(Fast) Flashing of the Green Battery Charge Indicator

Charge
The rapid-charging procedure is indicated by fast flashing of the green battery charge indicator.
Note: The rapid-charging procedure is only possible when the battery temperature is within the allowable charging temperature range, see section "Technical Data".
(Slow) Flashing of the Green Battery Charge Indicator

0 80%
When the charging condition of the battery is 80 %, the green battery charge indicator flashes slowly.
The battery can be removed for immediate use.
Continuous Lighting of the Green Battery Charge Indicator

100%
Continuous lighting of the green battery charge indicator indicates that the battery is fully charged.
When the battery is not inserted, continuous lighting of the battery charge indicator indicates that the mains plug is inserted in the socket and that the battery charger is ready for operation.
Continuous Lighting of the Red Battery Charge Indicator

-
Continuous lighting of the red battery charge indicator indicates that the temperature of the
battery is not within the allowable charging temperature range, see section "Technical Data". As soon as the allowable charging temperature range is reached, the battery charger automatically switches to rapid charging.
Flashing Red Battery Charge Indicator

A flashing red battery charge indicator indicates a different malfunction of the charging procedure, see section "Troubleshooting".

For your safety
Remove the battery from the garden tool before any work on the garden tool (e.g., maintenance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport and storage. If the on/off switch is accidentally activated, there is a risk of injury. The garden tool continues to run for a few seconds after switching off (with residual air flow). Let the motor stop before switching it on again. Do not switch the garden tool off and on directly in succession.
Charging the battery
▶ Do not use any other charging device. The supplied charging device is compatible with the lithium-ion battery installed in your garden tool. ▶ Pay attention to the mains voltage! The voltage of the power source must match the data on the rating plate of the charging device. Charging devices marked with 230 V can also operate with 220 V.
The battery is equipped with temperature monitoring that allows charging only in the temperature range between 0 °C and 45 °C. This ensures a long service life for the battery.
Note: The battery is delivered partially charged. To ensure full battery power, charge the battery before first use with the charging device.
The lithium-ion battery can be charged at any time without shortening its service life. Interrupting the charging process does not damage the battery.
The lithium-ion battery is protected against deep discharge by "Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)". When the battery is discharged, the garden tool is switched off via a protective circuit. The garden tool no longer operates.

CAUTION
After automatic shutdown, do not press the switch again.
