use and enclosed with the vacuum cleaner, should it be passed on or sold. Please also observe the relevant national industrial safety regulations. Intended use of the vacuum cleaner: Wet/dry vacuum cleaner for vacu- uming and extraction of dry, non- hazardous dusts of dust category L, minor dust particles, particularly when carrying out dust-forming work with a power tool, and non- combustible liquids, in weather-pro- tected environments using the appli- cation tools and accessories recommended by FEIN. This vacuum cleaner is intended for commercial use, such as in hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices and rental businesses. Only for EU countries: Vacuum cleaners of dust category L according to IEC/EN 60335-2-69 for dry vacuuming of hazardous dusts with an exposition limit value > 1 mg/m

The vacuum cleaner contains materials that are hazardous to one’s health. Have the emptying and main- tenance, incl. the disposal of dust- collection containers, carried out only by specialists. Appropriate pro- tective equipment is required. Do not operate the vacuum cleaner without the complete filter system. Otherwise there is danger to your own health. This vacuum cleaner is also suitable for use with AC generators with suf- ficient power output that corre- spond the the Standards ISO 8528, design type G2. This Standard is par- ticularly not complied with when the so-called distortion factor exceeds 10 %. When in doubt, please refer to the generator instructions/specifi- cation guide. Special safety instructions. This machine is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of expe- rience and/or knowledge. Children should be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the machine. Cleaning and maintenance of the vacuum cleaner shall not be made by children without supervision. Operating personnel must be appropri- ately instructed in the use of this vacuum cleaner. Before usage, the person operating the vacuum cleaner must have been provided with information, instructions and WARNING WARNING WARNING OBJ_BUCH-0000000148-005.book Page 26 Monday, August 5, 2019 10:02 AM27

training on using the vacuum cleaner and the materials to be vacuumed, including the safe procedure for dis- posal of vacuumed materials. The person operating the vacuum cleaner must observe the relevant safety regulations for the materials being vacuumed. Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on application, use face shield, safety goggles or safety glasses. Where appropriate, wear dust mask, hearing protectors, gloves and workshop apron capable of stopping small abrasive or work- piece fragments. The eye protection must be capable of stopping flying debris generated by various opera- tions. The dust mask or respirator must be capable of filtrating particles generated by your operation. Pro- longed exposure to high intensity noise may cause hearing loss. Operate the vacuum cleaner only from socket outlets with earthing contact that are according to regula- tions. Use only undamaged supply cords and regularly checked exten- sion cords with earthing contact. A protective conductor without conti- nuity can lead to electric shock. The earthed connection socket dis- charges static charges. In connec- tion with electrostatically discharging accessories (optional), this prevents the formation of sparks and current surges. When wet vacuuming, operate the vacuum cleaner only when the con- tainer is level. Otherwise there is danger of electric shock from water penetrating into the vacuum cleaner motor. Do not misuse the power supply cord to pull the vacuum cleaner around or pull the mains plug from the socket outlet. Keep the power supply cord away from heat, oil sharp edges, or moving parts. Do not drive over or pinch the power supply cord. Dam- aged or entangled power supply cords increase the risk of an electric shock. Before replacing accessories, pull the mains plug from the socket out- let. This safety measure reduces the risk of electric shock. Do not vacuum materials that are hazardous to one’s health, e. g., dust from beech or oak wood, masonry dust, asbestos. These materials are considered carcinogenic. When vacuuming larger quantities of fine dust, electrostatic charging may occur. Provide for good ventilation of the workplace. Do not vacuum inflammable or explo- sive fluids; for example, benzene, oil, alcohol, solvents. Do not vacuum hot or inflammable dusts. Do not operate the vacuum cleaner in rooms where the danger of an explosion exists. The dusts, vapours or fluids can ignite or explode. Do not rivet or screw any name- plates or designs to the vacuum cleaner. If the insulation is damaged, protection against an electric shock will be ineffective. Adhesive labels are recommended. Do not use accessories not specifi- cally intended or recommended for this vacuum cleaner. Just because the accessory can be attached to your vacuum cleaner, it does not assure safe operation. Before starting operation (see page 6–9), check the power supply cord and the mains plug for damage. Use the vacuum cleaner's socket outlet only for connection of an external power tool. The vacuum cleaner is automatically switched on and off via the connected power tool. The connected load of the power tool may not exceed the maximum con- nected load P

of the vacuum cleaner’s socket outlet. Please also observe the operating instructions and safety warnings of the power tool being connected to the socket outlet of the vacuum cleaner. Recommendation: Always operate the vacuum cleaner via a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual current of 30 mA or less. The vacuum cleaner may only be stored indoors. Operating Instructions. Operation, see page 10. Filter replacement and filter cleaning, see page 11–13/ 30 section “Fault Finding.” Never vacuum with- out the flat-fold fil- ter, as otherwise the motor will be damaged and a health hazard will occur through increased exposure of fine dust. When vacuuming fine dust, a fleece filter bag must be used addi- tionally. An adequate ventilation rate L must be provided for when the outgoing air is circulated. The circulated air- flow must not exceed 50 % (max.) of the fresh air volume (room vol- ume x ventilation rate L

). The fol- lowing applies without special ventilation measures: L

When inserting the fleece filter bag, pay attention that the closing cover and the fleece bag face completely against the interior side of the con- tainer. After removing the fleece filter bag, seal it with the closing cover in order to avoid debris. For vacuuming dusts of dust cat- egory L, only dry flat-fold filters, which have not been moist or wet, are permitted to be used. Before switching from wet to dry vacuuming, allow the flat- fold filter to dry or replace through a dry one. Otherwise, the flat-fold fil- ter will become unusable. Keep the flat-fold filter dry and clean it regularly. Mount accessories applying only slight pressure. For disassembling, turn the parts somewhat against each other and pull apart. Switch the vacuum cleaner off before connecting a power tool to the vac- uum cleaner’s socket outlet. Make sure that the power tool is switched off when inserting its plug into the vacuum cleaner’s socket outlet. WARNING CAUTION OBJ_BUCH-0000000148-005.book Page 28 Monday, August 5, 2019 10:02 AM29

After switching off a power tool con- nected to the vacuum cleaner’s socket outlet, the vacuum cleaner will run on for approx. 15 seconds and then automatically switch off. When wet vacuuming electrically conductive liquids, the vacuum cleaner is automatically switched off (automatic shut-off) when reaching the maximum filling height of the container. Pull the mains plug from the socket outlet and empty the con- tainer. When wet vacuuming electrically non-conductive liquids (e. g., oils, drilling emulsions), the vacuum cleaner is not automatically switched off when reaching the maximum fill- ing height of the container. Empty the container in time. After finishing the wet vacuuming, clean the sensors and the space in between using a brush. Check the sensors regularly for signs of damage. Switch the vacuum cleaner off imme- diately as soon as foam or water comes out, and empty the container. In case of a short-circuit and/or heavy discharge of dust, switch the vacuum cleaner off immediately and disconnect it from the power supply. For transport of the vacuum cleaner, activate the vacuum cleaner's locka- ble castor brake. Repair and customer service. Check the connections, seals and hoses. Have damage repaired only through a qualified repair per- son and only using original FEIN replacement parts. Use commercially available, non- scouring cleaning agents and water for cleaning the vacuum cleaner. After cleaning, allow the vacuum cleaner to dry completely. Empty the container each time after using and remove coarse debris and dust. Empty the container after vacuuming liquids. Afterwards, run the vacuum cleaner with the accessories con- nected for several minutes in order to dry them. Dispose of used flat-fold filters and filter bags according to statutory reg- ulations. When the machine’s power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or their repre- sentative. Have a dust-technical inspection car- ried out at least once every year by the manufacturer or an instructed person, e. g., for damage of the filter, function and tightness against leakage of the vacuum cleaner. For category L vacuum cleaners that were in contaminated environments, the exterior as well as all machine parts should be cleaned or treated with sealants. When performing maintenance and repair work, all contaminated components that can- not be cleaned to satisfactory must be disposed of. Such components CAUTION OBJ_BUCH-0000000148-005.book Page 29 Monday, August 5, 2019 10:02 AM30

must be disposed of in impermeable plastic bags conforming with the valid regulations for the disposal of such waste. For maintenance on behalf of the user, the vacuum cleaner must be disassembled, cleaned and main- tained as far as feasible, without caus- ing a risk for the maintenance personnel or other persons. Prior to disassembly, the vacuum cleaner should be cleaned in order to pre- vent any risks. The room/enclosure in which the vacuum cleaner is disassembled should be well ventilated. Wear per- sonal protective equipment during maintenance. After the maintenance, the maintenance area should be cleaned. Products that have come into contact with asbestos may not be sent in for repair. Dispose of products contam- inated with asbestos according to the applicable country-specific regula- tions for such disposal.
