Components of the plinth

Installing the washing machine

The plinth is only intended for Miele washing machines and tumble dry-ers.

Risk of accidents due to washing machine tipping over.

If the washing machine is not screwed to the plinth, it may tip over. Screw the washing machine to the plinth.

Removing the drawer

■ Press against the drawer.
■ Pull the drawer all the way out.

1 Press against the retainers at the sides.
2 Lift the drawer slightly and remove it.
■ Push the runners back into the plinth.

Using the connecting pieces

If 2 plinths are installed side by side, they must be connected to each other. Connecting pieces are provided for this purpose.

How the connecting pieces are mounted depends on the washing machine door hinging.

Tip: You should mount the connecting pieces even if you do not have a second plinth. This will avoid the possibly difficult task of retrofitting and also ensures that the connecting pieces are stored safely.

Left-hand hinging

Fitting the connecting pieces

The connecting pieces are fitted on the feet of the plinth.

Removing the feet from the plinth

The feet must be removed from the plinth in order to mount the connecting pieces.

■ Using an open spanner, turn the counter nut ② between the washer ① and the foot ③ in a clockwise direction.
■ Repeat this step for all 4 feet.
■ Unscrew the 2 right or left feet all the way.

Fitting the connecting pieces

■ Fit the connecting pieces together with the feet that have been removed.

The components should be in the following order, starting with the closest to the plinth:

1. Washer
2. Connecting piece
3. Counter nut
4. Foot

■ Screw the plinth feet back on but do not secure them with the counter nut yet.

Preparing the rear panel of the plinth

■ Stick the sealing strips from the companion pack to the inside of the rear panel as shown in the image.

Preparing the washing machine

The following measures must be carried out:

1. Fit the transport safety devices (if they have been removed).
2. Drain the water (if the washing machine has been used).
3. Remove the detergent drawer.
4. Remove detergent cartridges (if inserted).

Connecting the washing machine to the plinth

⚠️ Damage to washing machine and floor.

The washing machine and the floor may be damaged if the instructions for preparing the washing machine are not observed.

Observe the instructions for preparing the washing machine.

Laying the washing machine on its side

This step must be carried out by 2 people.

■ Prepare a soft, flat surface (e.g. a blanket).
■ Slowly lay the washing machine on its side.

Removing the feet from the washing machine

■ Using an open spanner, turn the counter nut in a clockwise direction.
■ Unscrew the foot all the way and remove it.
■ Repeat the process for all 4 feet.

Screwing the plinth to the washing machine

■ Place the spacer sleeves on the set screws.
■ Push the plinth and the washing machine together. The set screws must be inserted in the holes of the feet that have been removed from the washing machine.

■ Using an open spanner, tighten all 4 threaded bolts alternately and evenly inside the plinth.

The plinth is screwed securely to the washing machine.

Standing the washing machine/plinth assembly upright

This step must be carried out by 2 people.

■ Carefully stand the assembly upright again.

Fastening the rear panel to the plinth

T20

■ Use the raised-head screws to screw the prepared panel to the rear of the plinth.

Inserting the drawer

■ Press against the two runners.

The runners move out slightly.

■ Pull the runners all the way out.

■ Place the drawer on the runners.

■ Push the drawer into the plinth.

The drawer audibly engages.

Tip: Open and close the drawer again to check that it is engaged correctly.

Aligning and securing the feet of the plinth

The washing machine/plinth assembly must be anchored to the floor with tensioning strips in the case of single machine installation. See also "Using tensioning strips".

The plinth must stand perfectly level on all 4 feet to ensure safe and proper operation. Incorrect installation may increase water and energy consumption.

■ Use a spirit level to check the washing machine is standing level.
■ Unscrew one or more feet to level the appliance.

Using an open spanner, turn the counter nut on the feet in a clockwise direction.
2 Turn the counter nut together with the feet to unscrew.
3 Hold the feet securely with water pump pliers. Turn the counter nut using an open spanner until it sits firmly up against the casing of the plinth.

Tip: If the connecting pieces are not required, fold them in.

Installing the tumble dryer

The plinth is only intended for Miele washing machines and tumble dry-ers.

Risk of tipping over.

If the plinth is not anchored in place, it may move around with the tumble dryer or tip over.

Anchor the plinth in place with the tensioning strips provided.

Preparing the plinth for mounting

Removing the drawer

■ Press against the drawer.
■ Pull the drawer all the way out.

Replacing set screws

The set screws already fastened to the plinth must be replaced with the shorter set screws provided.

A 4x 5 mm

■ Unscrew the set screws A using an Allen key while holding the threaded bolts in the plinth with water pump pliers.

The longer set screws A are not required when mounting a tumble dryer and can be disposed of after removal.

B 4x 5 mm

■ Screw the shorter set screws B all the way into the plinth.

Preparing the rear panel of the plinth

■ Stick the sealing strips from the companion pack to the inside of the rear panel as shown in the image.

Inserting the drawer

■ Press against the two runners.

The runners move out slightly.

■ Pull the runners all the way out.
■ Place the drawer on the runners.
■ Push the drawer into the plinth.

The drawer audibly engages.

Tip: Open and close the drawer again to check that it is engaged correctly.

Preparing the tumble dryer

1. Empty the condensate container

■ Empty the condensate container as described in the operating instructions for the tumble dryer.

2. Screw in the dryer feet

■ Screw the 4 tumble dryer feet all the way in.

Lifting the tumble dryer onto the plinth

This step must be carried out by 2 people.

Risk of fingers being crushed.

Fingers may be crushed if they are trapped between the dryer casing and the set screws.

Do not lift the tumble dryer by the corners.

■ Lift the tumble dryer onto the plinth.
■ Guide the openings in the dryer feet onto the set screws.

Connecting the tumble dryer to the rear panel of the plinth

T20

■ Screw the rear panel onto the plinth at the bottom using one of the raised-head screws provided so it is hand-tight.

1 Loosen the two bottom screws A and B on the dryer rear panel (do not remove them).

2 Hook the connecting pieces onto the loosened screws.

T20/T30

1 Use the raised-head screws to screw the connecting pieces and the rear panel to the plinth.

2 Retighten the screws on the tumble dryer.

3 Tighten the bottom raised-head screw on the rear panel.

Aligning and securing the feet of the plinth

The tumble dryer/plinth assembly must be anchored to the floor with tensioning strips in the case of single machine installation.

See also "Using tensioning strips".

The plinth with the tumble dryer must stand perfectly level on all 4 feet to ensure safe and proper operation.

■ Use a spirit level to check that the dryer is standing level.
■ Unscrew one or more feet to level the appliance.

2 Turn the counter nut together with the feet to unscrew.
3 Hold the feet securely with water pump pliers. Turn the counter nut using an open spanner until it sits firmly up against the casing of the plinth.

Using tensioning strips

Anchoring the plinth to the floor using tensioning strips

Risk of tipping over.

If the plinth is not anchored in place, it may move around with the washing machine or tumble dryer or tip over. Anchor the plinth in place with the tensioning strips provided.

■ Anchor the plinth feet diagonally with the tensioning strips provided, e.g. the front right foot and the rear left foot.

This will provide the best protection against moving around or tipping over.

Tip: The anchoring will be most effective if the tensioning strips are turned out slightly when fastened in place. Refer to the installation instructions for the tensioning strips.

Aligning the drawer

If the drawer front is not exactly in line with the tumble dryer or the washing machine, it can be adjusted.

Removing the cover cap

■ Open the drawer.

■ There is a cover cap on each side of the drawer.

■ Remove the cover caps by hand.

Aligning the drawer vertically

On both sides of the drawer is a wheel which can be used to adjust the height of the front.

Make sure you adjust the height evenly on the right and left.

■ Turn the wheel to move the drawer up or down.

■ Replace the cover caps.

Tip: Make sure that the plinth flap can still be opened completely downwards.

Aligning the drawer horizontally

There is also a screw on the right-hand side, which can be used to move the drawer front horizontally to the right or left.

■ Turn the screw to move the drawer front to the right or left.

Adjusting the inclination of the drawer

■ Slide the two covers back.

■ To adjust the inclination of the drawer, turn the two rails using a screwdriver.

Pair installation

If the tumble dryer and washing machine are installed side by side, the plinths must be connected using the connecting pieces on the feet of the washing machine plinth. If the connecting pieces are on the right-hand side, the tumble dryer will be on the right; if the connecting pieces are on the left-hand side, the tumble dryer will be on the left.

During installation, please note the following:

- The plinths must be the same height.

- The plinths must be in line with each other.

Connecting the plinths

■ Loosen the counter nuts on the feet of the plinth of the washing machine and the tumble dryer.
■ Fold out the connecting pieces on the feet of the washing machine plinth.
■ Push the two plinths together.

■ Place the connecting pieces around the feet of the tumble dryer plinth.
- Check that the plinths are the same height and that they are in line with each other.
■ If the heights are different, adjust the feet accordingly.
