Safety instructions Symbols in the operating instructions The following symbols are used in this operating manual: Danger indicates an immediate threat of danger. Failure to observe the instruction may result in death or serious injuries. 몇 Warning indicates a possibly dangerous situation. Failure to observe the instruction may result in light injuries or damage to property. Caution Possible hazardous situation that could lead to mild injury to persons or damage to property. Symbols on the plant All individuals, who are involved, in the installation, the operation, the maintenance and service of this equipment, must be – have the requisite qualifications, – know and observe the "Safety instructions for waste water treatment plants", – know and have read this operations manuals, – know and follow the corresponding regulations. Danger Health hazard due to dust and microbial pollutants. Wear face masks and gloves while changing the gravel bed. Danger Health Hazard - injuries by drinking recycled water. The cleaned waste water is not suitable for drinking. It still contains some residual contamination and detergent residue. 몇 Warning Contact with water with microbial organisms can be a health hazard. If the system fails, there is a risk of growth of microbial organisms in the recycled water. Avoid contact with recycled water. Behaviour in emergency situations Switch off the plant, turn the emergency stop main switch in the electrical switches cabinet to "0". Specifications and Guidelines national and local regulations Accident prevention regulations Regulation for protection against hazardous substances, CHV 5 (Hazardous substances regulation, HSR). Notice The equipment may only be installed by an – mechanic of Kärcher – or an from Kärcher authorized individual

Proper use Risk of electric shock! Only electricians or authorised technicians are permitted to work on parts of the plant. General Mishandling or misuse can prove to be hazardous to the operator and other persons through – high electrical voltage, To avoid danger to persons, animals and property before the first operation of the system, read: – this operating instructions manual, especially the safety instructions contained therein – the enclosed safety information for wastewater treatment units, 5.956660.0 – the respective national statutes of the legislator

The system cleans waste water and provides recycled water to the car washing units (portal cleaning units, washing streets, etc.). The recycled water can only be used for cleaning programmes (for e.g. preliminary washing, high pressure cleaning, brush cleaning). Recycled water is not suitable for use as rinsing water or for applying drying aid or some other such purpose. Cleaning is done by: – Separating heavy parts that easily settle down in the gravel filter. – Destruction of odour by recirculation and ventilation. Pre-requisites for smooth functioning: Basin system according to the water flow diagram shown in the "Function" chapter. Workstation The workplace is located on the system and is retracted only briefly for starting the plant and for maintenance jobs.

Acknowledge the message. Switch-off in case of emergency Switch off the plant, turn the emergency stop main switch in the electrical switches cabinet to "0".

Switching on the plant Turn the emergency-stop switch to "1". Immersion pump is working when: – a backwash is performed. – The water level in the recycled water tank is below the starting level S7. – The water level in the pump basin is above the starting level S15. Select function Turn the programme selector switch to the desired position. Press the SET key. Note After the switching on of the emergency off switch, the system will start in the mode "Operation without conductivity monitoring“. Backwash During backwash, the dirt collected in the gravel filter is removed. To do this, the gravel filter is rinsed in the reverse direction. The rinsed dirt is routed to the sludge collector of the recycling system. The system is equipped with an automatic multi-channel valve. The backwash process is automatically started by the control. During the backwashing process, indicator lamp "Backwash running" is illuminated. Note During normal operations, the backwash is performed once a day. During backwash, the recycled water tank is not refilled with recycled water. If the washing system is not operated during backwash, then refilling is done automatically by the emergency fresh water supply (option). The WRP machine has an on-demand backwash function. If the filling of the recycled water tank takes more than 90 minutes on account of a highly contaminated filter, an automatic backwash is initiated. This automatic filter backflushing can also be started during a wash in a very busy washing operation with consequential filter contamination. The water demand of the washing system is ensured via the fresh water supply (option). Empty pump basin With this function, the recycled water is channeled from the pump basin into a channel. – This function is required when the quality of the recycled water proves insufficient for operating the awashing system (too much salt in the water or wrong cleaning agent, for example). Function: Turn the programme selector switch to position "Pump basin". Press the SET key.

The system filters until the S15 switch in the pump basin signals lack of water and the submersion pump is switched off. This overfills the recycled water tank. The excess water flows though the overflow pipe of the recycled water tank into the canal. The water supply of the washing system now runs with fresh water until the pump basin is filled up to level S15 at the top, and the deactivation of the submerged pump is cancelled. Recycled water can then be produced in the normal way. KÄRCHER Service deactivates the "Draining the pump basin" function if there is an overflow line from the pump basin into the channel. KÄRCHER Service deactivates the "Draining the pump basin" function if there is no overflow line from the recycled water tank into the channel. Shutdown Note To avoid odour problems, the plant must remain switched on even during the night. Switch off the plant, turn the emergency stop main switch in the electrical switches cabinet to "0". If there is risk of frosting, then any existing water traces must be removed (see section "Anti-freezing"). Restarting During fresh start-up after shutdown: Switch on plant. Backwash the filter until the manometer on the multi-channel valve displays an inlet pressure of approx. 0.05 MPa (approx. 0.5 bar) during filter operation. Conductivity monitoring

The unit is equipped with the option of an automatic monitoring of the conductivity. The measuring point is located in the pump line between the submersion pump and the multi-channel valve. This conductivity monitoring function can be activated or deactivated here. When the preset value for the conductivity is exceeded, the conductivity monitoring triggers the same process as the "Empty pump basin" button. The subsequent utilization of fresh water for the washing process dilutes the remaining salty water in the basin system to an extent that adequate washing water quality is restored. This option cannot be installed if the recycling system is not equipped with an overflow from the recycled water tank and a fresh water supply. Recycling water recirculation If the washing system does not use up the water, the recycled water is circulated to avoid foul odour. Frost protection The plant must be operated in frost-free rooms. During frost, put the system out of operation and remove all traces of water: Loosen the screws of the plastic pipes and let the pipes run empty. Empty the recycled water tank. Open the gravel filer and remove the gravel that is still moist (Customer Service)
