General Power Tool Safety Warnings

WARNING
Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and
instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
Work area safety
- Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Electrical safety
Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
- When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
Personal safety
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.

Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts. If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
Power tool use and care
Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Service
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Safety Warnings for Straight Grinders
Safety Warnings common for Grinding and Wire Brushing
This power tool is intended to function as a grinder and wire brush. Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Operations such as sanding, polishing or cutting-off are not recommended to be performed with this power tool. Operations for which the power tool was not designed may create a hazard and cause personal injury. Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed and recommended by the tool manufacturer. Just because the accessory can be attached to your power tool, it does not assure safe operation. The rated speed of the accessory must be at least equal to the maximum speed marked on the power tool. Accessories running faster than their rated speed can break and fly apart. The outside diameter and the thickness of your accessory must be within the capacity rating of your power tool. Incorrectly sized accessories cannot be adequately guarded or controlled. Threaded mounting of accessories must match the grinder spindle thread. For accessories mounted by flanges, the arbour hole of the accessory must fit the locating diameter of the flange. Accessories that do not match the mounting hardware of the power tool will run out of balance, vibrate excessively and may cause loss of control. Do not use a damaged accessory. Before each use inspect the accessory such as abrasive wheels for chips and cracks, backing pad for cracks, tear or excess wear, wire brush for loose or cracked wires. If power tool or accessory is dropped, inspect for damage or install an undamaged accessory. After inspecting and installing an accessory, position yourself and bystanders away from the plane of the rotating accessory and run the power tool at maximum no-load speed for one minute. Damaged accessories will normally break apart during this test time. Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on application, use face shield, safety goggles or safety glasses. As appropriate, wear dust mask, hearing protectors, gloves and workshop apron capable of stopping small abrasive or workpiece fragments. The eye protection must be capable of stopping flying debris generated by various operations. The dust mask or respirator must be capable of filtrating particles generated by your operation. Prolonged exposure to high intensity noise may cause hearing loss. Keep bystanders a safe distance away from work area. Anyone entering the work area must wear personal protective equipment. Fragments of workpiece or of a broken accessory may fly away and cause injury beyond immediate area of operation.
Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and could give the operator an electric shock. Position the cord clear of the spinning accessory. If you lose control, the cord may be cut or snagged and your hand or arm may be pulled into the spinning accessory. Never lay the power tool down until the accessory has come to a complete stop. The spinning accessory may grab the surface and pull the power tool out of your control. Do not run the power tool while carrying it at your side. Accidental contact with the spinning accessory could snag your clothing, pulling the accessory into your body. Regularly clean the power tool's air vents. The motor's fan will draw the dust inside the housing and excessive accumulation of powdered metal may cause electrical hazards. Do not operate the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks could ignite these materials. Do not use accessories that require liquid coolants. Using water or other liquid coolants may result in electrocution or shock.
Kickback and related warnings
- Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged rotating wheel, backing pad, brush or any other accessory. Pinching or snagging causes rapid stalling of the rotating accessory which in turn causes the uncontrolled power tool to be forced in the direction opposite of the accessory's rotation at the point of the binding. For example, if an abrasive wheel is snagged or pinched by the workpiece, the edge of the wheel that is entering into the pinch point can dig into the surface of the material causing the wheel to climb out or kick out. The wheel may either jump toward or away from the operator, depending on direction of the wheel's movement at the point of pinching. Abrasive wheels may also break under these conditions. Kickback is the result of power tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below.
- Maintain a firm grip on the power tool and position your body and arm to allow you to resist kickback forces. Always use auxiliary handle, if provided, for maximum control over kickback or torque reaction during start-up. The operator can control torque reactions or kickback forces, if proper precautions are taken. Never place your hand near the rotating accessory. Accessory may kickback over your hand. Do not position your body in the area where power tool will move if kickback occurs. Kickback will propel the tool in direction opposite to the wheel's movement at the point of snagging. Use special care when working corners, sharp edges, etc. Avoid bouncing and snagging the accessory. Corners, sharp edges or bouncing have a tendency to snag the rotating accessory and cause loss of control or kickback.
Do not attach a saw chain woodcarving blade or toothed saw blade. Such blades create frequent kickback and loss of control.
Additional safety instructions for grinding
- Use only wheel types that are recommended for your power tool and the specific guard designed for the selected wheel. Wheels for which the power tool was not designed cannot be adequately guarded and are unsafe. The grinding surface of the centre depressed wheels must be mounted below the plane of the guard lip. An improperly mounted wheel that projects through the plane of the guard lip cannot be adequately protected. The guard must be securely attached to the power tool and positioned for maximum safety, so the least amount of wheel is exposed towards the operator. The guard helps to protect operator from broken wheel fragments, accidental contact with wheel and sparks that could ignite clothing. Wheels must be used only for recommended applications. For example: do not grind with the side of the cut-off wheel. Abrasive cut-off wheels are intended for peripheral grinding; side forces applied to these wheels may cause them to shatter. Always use undamaged wheel flanges that are of correct size and shape for your selected wheel. Proper wheel flanges support the wheel thus reducing the possibility of wheel breakage. Flanges for cut-off wheels may be different from grinding wheel flanges. Do not use worn down wheels from larger power tools. Wheel intended for larger power tool is not suitable for the higher speed of a smaller tool and may burst.
Safety warnings specific for wire brushing operations
Be aware that wire bristles are thrown by the brush even during ordinary operation. Do not overstress the wires by applying excessive load to the brush. The wire bristles can easily penetrate light clothing and/or skin. If the use of a guard is recommended for wire brushing, do not allow any interference of the wire wheel or brush with the guard. Wire wheel or brush may expand in diameter due to work load and centrifugal forces.
Additional safety warnings

Wear safety goggles.

Use suitable detectors to determine if utility lines are hidden in the work area or call the local utility company for assistance. Contact with electric lines can lead to fire and electric shock. Damaging a gas line can lead to explosion. Penetrating a water line causes property damage or may cause an electric shock. Release the On/Off switch and set it to the off position when the power supply is interrupted, e. g., in case of a power failure or when the mains plug is pulled.

Do not touch abrasive wheels until they have cooled down. The discs can become very hot while working.
Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a vice is held more secure than by hand.
Products sold in GB only: Your product is fitted with an BS 1363/A approved electric plug with internal fuse (ASTA approved to BS 1362).
If the plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place by an authorized customer service agent. The replacement plug should have the same fuse rating as the original plug.
The severed plug must be disposed of to avoid a possible shock hazard and should never be inserted into a mains socket elsewhere.

A properly attached, undamaged quick-clamping nut can be loosened by hand when turning the knurled ring in anticlockwise direction. Never loosen a tight quick-clamping nut with pliers. Always use the two-pin spanner 15.
Dust/Chip Extraction
- Dust from materials such as lead-containing coatings, some wood types, minerals, and metal can be harmful to one's health. Touching or breathing in the dust can cause allergic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of the user or bystanders. Certain dust, such as oak or beech dust, is considered carcinogenic, especially in connection with wood-treatment additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials containing asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
- Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
- It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator. Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the materials to be worked. Prevent dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can easily ignite.
Operation
Starting Operation
Observe the mains voltage! The voltage of the power source must correspond with the data on the type plate of the machine.
Products sold in AUS and NZ only: Use a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual current of 30 mA or less.
Switching On and Off
To start the power tool, first slide the On/Off switch 6 forward, then press it and keep it pressed.
To lock-on the pressed On/Off switch 6, push the On/Off switch 6 further forward.
To switch off the power tool, release the On/Off switch 6, or when it is locked, briefly press the On/Off switch 6 and then release it.
Check grinding tools before using. The grinding tool must be mounted properly and be able to move freely. Carry out a test run for at least one minute with no load. Do not use damaged, out-of-centre or vibrating grinding tools. Damaged grinding tools can burst and cause injuries.
To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it.
Restarting Protection
The restarting protection feature prevents uncontrolled re-starting of the machine after an interruption in the power supply.
To restart the operation, switch the On/Off switch 6 to the Off position and start the machine again.
Working Advice
Optimum grinding results are achieved when the grinding tool is moved uniformly back and forth with light pressure. Pressure that is too strong reduces the performance capability of the machine and causes the grinding tool to wear more quickly.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains plug. For safe and proper working, always keep the machine and ventilation slots clean. In extreme conditions, always use dust extraction as far as possible. Blow out ventilation slots frequently and install a portable residual current device (PRCD). When working metals, conductive dust can settle in the interior of the power tool. The total insulation of the power tool can be impaired.
Please store and handle the accessory(-ies) carefully. If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be done by Bosch or an authorized Bosch service agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, always wear eye protection. Prolonged exposure to high intensity noise may cause hearing loss. Ensure that all persons are at a safe distance from the work area. Every person entering the work area must have personal protective equipment. Fragments of the workpiece or of a broken accessory may fly away and cause injury beyond the immediate work area. When performing operations where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord, hold the power tool only by insulated gripping surfaces. Contact with a live wire will make exposed metal parts of the power tool live and shock the operator. Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. If you lose control of the tool, the cutting accessory may be pulled into or grabbed by the rotating part of the tool, and your hand may be pulled into the rotating accessory. Never release the power tool until the accessory has come to a complete stop. The rotating accessory may catch on the work surface and you may lose control of the power tool. Switch off the power tool when transporting it. The accessory may be accidentally caught by the rotating part of the tool, causing injury. Regularly clean the ventilation slots of the power tool. The motor fan draws dust into the housing, and excessive accumulation of metal dust may cause electrical hazards. Do not use the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks may ignite these materials. Do not use accessories that require liquid coolants. Using water or other liquid coolants may result in electric shock.
Kickback and corresponding warnings
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged rotating accessory, such as a grinding wheel, grinding disc, wire brush, etc., causing the rotating accessory to stop abruptly. This uncontrolled power tool will be accelerated in the direction opposite to the rotation of the accessory at the point of snagging.
If a grinding wheel is pinched or snagged by the workpiece, the edge of the grinding wheel entering the workpiece may catch and cause the wheel to climb out or kick out. The wheel may then move toward or away from the operator, depending on the direction of rotation at the point of snagging. In this situation, the grinding wheel may also break. Kickback is the result of misuse of the power tool and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions. It can be avoided by taking the precautions given below.
When using power tools, your body and hands should be positioned to resist the reaction forces. Always use the auxiliary handle to maintain control during startup and operation. The operator can take appropriate precautions to resist the forces of a kickback and reaction torque. Your hand should never be near the rotating accessory. If a kickback occurs, the tool may jump toward your hand. Hold the tool firmly on the side opposite the direction of the kickback to control the tool. A kickback can cause the tool to be thrown in the direction opposite to the rotation of the disc at the point of jamming. Be especially careful when working on corners, sharp edges, etc. Prevent the tool from bouncing off the workpiece and jamming. The rotating accessory can jam on the workpiece, causing a loss of control or a kickback. Do not use blunt or damaged discs. Such accessories often become the cause of kickback or loss of control over the power tool.
Special safety instructions for grinding
Use only the accessories specified for this power tool and the protective guards provided for them. Accessories not intended for this power tool cannot be adequately guarded and are dangerous. Flap discs must be mounted so that their abrasive surface does not protrude beyond the edge of the protective guard. An incorrectly mounted flap disc that protrudes beyond the edge of the guard is not adequately covered. The protective guard must be securely attached to the power tool and positioned for maximum safety, so that the least amount of the abrasive disc is exposed to the operator.
The exposed part of the abrasive accessory. The protective guard helps protect the user from fragments, accidental contact with the abrasive accessory, and sparks that could ignite clothing.
Abrasive accessories may only be used for the recommended applications. For example: never grind with the side of a cutting disc. Cutting discs are intended for peripheral grinding. Applying side forces to these accessories can cause them to break. Always use undamaged clamping flanges of the correct size and shape for the selected disc. Proper flanges support the disc and reduce the risk of breakage. Flanges for cutting discs may differ from those for grinding discs. Do not use worn-down discs from larger power tools. Discs for larger power tools are not designed for the higher speeds of smaller power tools and may burst.

Safety instructions for power tools
General power tool safety warnings
The power tool can be used as a cutting and grinding tool. Follow the safety instructions, warnings, and instructions provided with the power tool. Failure to follow the instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury. The power tool is intended for cutting, sanding, and grinding with abrasive wheels. Use of the power tool for operations not intended
120|Ukrainian
Unsafe situations can arise and lead to serious injury. Use only the attachments recommended by the manufacturer for your specific power tool. Using an attachment not intended for your power tool can create a hazardous situation and void its warranty. The permissible speed of the working tool must be at least the maximum speed marked on the power tool. Accessories running faster than their rated speed can break or fly apart. The outside diameter and thickness of the working tool must match the specifications of your power tool. Incorrectly sized tools cannot be adequately guarded or controlled, and you may lose control. Threaded inserts for working tools must exactly match the thread of the spindle. For working tool inserts mounted with a flange, the hole diameter of the insert must fit the locating diameter of the flange. Inserts that do not match the mounting hardware of the power tool will run out of balance, vibrate excessively, and may cause loss of control. Do not use damaged working tools. Before each use, inspect the working tool, especially abrasive wheels for chips and cracks, backing pads for cracks, and wire brushes for loose or broken wires. If the power tool or working tool is dropped, check for damage or use an undamaged working tool. After inspection and installation of the working tool, position yourself and bystanders away from the plane of the rotating working tool, and run the power tool at maximum no-load speed for one minute. Damaged working tools usually break during this test. Wear protective equipment. Depending on the application, use a face shield, safety goggles, or safety glasses. As necessary, wear a dust mask, hearing protection, protective gloves, or a special apron to protect yourself from small particles and material fragments. These must be protected from flying debris created by various operations. The respirator or mask must filter particles generated during work. Prolonged exposure to high-intensity noise can cause hearing loss.
Always use the machine with the safety guard in place for the intended work zone. Anyone entering the work zone must wear the appropriate protective equipment. Debris from the material or broken work tools can be thrown and cause injury even beyond the immediate work area. A damaged or jammed tool can catch the guard or the power cord, causing the tool to be pulled from your hands. A jammed blade that is under load can cause the tool to kick back and strike the operator. Keep your hands away from the rotating tool. The guard must be checked regularly to ensure it is not stuck or jammed, and your hand must not be placed near the rotating tool.
Before placing the power tool down, make sure the tool has completely stopped. A rotating tool can catch on the surface it is placed on, causing you to lose control of the power tool. Do not leave the power tool running unattended. You may accidentally grab the rotating tool and it may cause injury. Regularly clean the ventilation slots of the power tool. The motor fan will draw dust into the housing, and excessive accumulation of metal dust can lead to electrical hazards. Do not use the power tool near flammable materials. Such materials may ignite from sparks. Do not use the power tool if it requires maintenance. Using a tool that requires maintenance can lead to electrical shock.
Kickback and related warnings
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or jammed rotating tool, such as a grinding wheel, sanding disc, wire brush, or other accessory. When the tool is pinched or jammed, the rotating part suddenly stops, and the tool is thrown in the opposite direction of the rotation of the tool at the point of the pinch. For example, if a grinding wheel is pinched or snagged in the workpiece, the edge of the wheel that is entering the material can dig in, causing the wheel to climb out or kick back. The wheel may then move in the direction opposite to the rotation of the wheel, depending on the direction of rotation at the point of the pinch.
During operation. The rotating disc may be dangerous. The results of incorrect operation or misuse of the power tool may be dangerous. Therefore, it can be filled with additional protective measures, which are described below. When operating the power tool, keep your body and hands in a position where you can control the tool. Always use the auxiliary handle (if available) to be in the best position to handle the tool during sudden reaction moments at high speeds. With sudden and reactive moments, you can handle the tool under the condition of protective measures. Never keep your hand near the working tool, it is dangerous. During sudden operation, the working tool may jump onto your hand. Be careful with your body, because in case of sudden operation, the power tool may jump. When the power tool jumps, it may be thrown in the direction of the rotating disc at the point of operation. Work with special caution in corners, on sharp edges. Avoid jumping of the working tool. In corners, on sharp edges, or when the working tool is jammed, it may get stuck. Do not lose control or sudden operation.
Do not use a worn-out disc or a disc with teeth. Such working tools often cause sudden operation and loss of control over the power tool.
Special safety instructions for grinding
Use only the grinding discs allowed for your power tool and the guard that is installed on the complete grinding disc. Grinding discs that are not installed on the power tool are not sufficiently protected, because they are unsafe. The grinding disc must be mounted in such a way that the processed surface does not protrude beyond the edge of the protective guard. An incorrectly mounted grinding disc that protrudes beyond the edge of the protective guard is not sufficiently protected. The guard must be firmly installed on the power tool and adjusted for maximum safety in such a way that the operator is exposed to the smallest part of the unprotected grinding tool.
The protective guard helps protect the operator from fragments, accidental contact with the grinding tool, and from sparks that may cause injury.
Grinding discs can be used only for the recommended types of work. For example: never grind with the side surface of the disc.
The cutting disc is designed for cutting material with the edge of the disc. It is not intended for grinding with the side surface; it can damage the grinding disc.
Always use the selected grinding disc with the correct size and shape of the flange. The correct flange holds the grinding disc securely, thus reducing the risk of breakage of the grinding disc. Flanges for cutting discs may differ from flanges for other grinding discs.
Do not use worn-out grinding discs that were used on power tools of larger sizes. Grinding discs for larger power tools are not designed for the higher speed of smaller power tools and may break.
Special warnings for working with wire brushes
Depending on the type of surface, the use of protective gloves may cause damage to the material. Do not create excessive tension on the material, do not press too hard on it. Material fragments that have been cut off can very easily get stuck in thin fabric or skin. It is recommended to wear protective gloves, fill the tank, and use protective gloves and protective goggles. Parts and accessories may cause injury if used incorrectly. Sharp edges can increase the diameter.
Additional warnings

Wear protective gloves!
To avoid electric shock, use only approved extension cords or contact a qualified electrician. Damaged power cords can cause fire and electric shock. Damaged water pipes can cause flooding. Damaged water pipes can cause material damage or electric shock. When disconnecting the power supply, e.g., during voltage fluctuations or when unplugging the plug from the socket, do not pull the cord. Do not touch the grinding wheel until it has cooled down. The wheel gets very hot during operation. The material being processed is clamped. Using the clamping device, the material being processed is fixed securely. Keep your hands away from it while holding it.

Safety instructions for use
Use only the grinding discs intended for the power tool and the designated guard. Grinding discs not intended for the power tool cannot be adequately shielded and are unsafe. The disc must be mounted so that its protruding surface does not extend beyond the edge of the guard. An incorrectly mounted grinding disc that extends beyond the guard cannot be adequately shielded. The guard must be fitted securely to the power tool, positioned so that the maximum exposed part of the grinding disc faces the operator, providing the smallest possible exposed portion. The guard protects the operator from broken fragments of the abrasive material, from accidental contact with the grinding disc, and from sparks that may ignite clothing. Use only the abrasive discs for which the tool is intended. For example, never grind with the side surface of a cutting disc. Cutting discs are intended for cutting material with the edge. Excessive side pressure can cause the disc to break. Use only flanges that are in good condition and match the size and shape of the abrasive disc used. Using suitable flanges reduces the risk of disc breakage and the risk of injury. Flanges for cutting discs may differ from those for grinding discs. Do not use worn abrasive discs on larger power tools. Discs for larger machines are not intended for the high speeds at which smaller tools operate, and they may shatter.

142|Bulgarian
Special safety instructions for working with wire brushes
Do not forget that during normal operation, the wire bristles are thrown off the brush, even when the brush is pressed firmly. Do not press the wire brush too hard; the bristles can easily penetrate the guard or your skin. If the use of a guard is recommended, make sure beforehand that the wire brush does not touch it. The discs and the wire brushes must be mounted so that they are balanced and do not vibrate excessively.
Complete safety instructions

Work with the protective guard.
Do not point the device at people or animals to open the ventilation slots or to direct them towards the corresponding method of attachment. Contact with the cable and the cord under voltage can cause fire or electric shock. The device and the gas supply can cause an explosion. Damage to the water supply and the consequences for the material and the chain can cause electric shock. If the voltage is exceeded (e.g., due to a power surge or if the device is not properly grounded), the circuit breaker must be replaced with a suitable one, otherwise it is excluded. Do not touch the disc for sanding while it is still hot. During operation, the discs heat up strongly. Ensure the safety of the parts. The tool, the appropriate accessories and the discs, if not used in accordance with the safety instructions, can cause injury, especially if the discs are damaged.

Noise/vibration information
The vibration values have been determined according to EN60745-2-3. The typical noise level of the tool is: sound pressure 87 dB(A); sound power 98 dB(A). Uncertainty K=3 dB.
Work with vibration!
The declared vibration emission value (vector sum in three directions) and uncertainty were determined in accordance with EN 60745-2:3.
Vibration emission (rough grinding): a_h = 3.0 m/s², K = 1.5 m/s².
The vibration emission value specified in these instructions has been measured in accordance with the standard test procedure EN 60745 and may be used for comparison with other power tools. It may also be used for a preliminary assessment of exposure to vibration.
The declared vibration emission value is representative of the main applications of the power tool. If the power tool is used for other applications, with different accessories or poorly maintained, the vibration emission may differ. This may significantly increase the total exposure to vibration over the working period.
Bulgarian | 143
For an accurate assessment of the exposure to vibration during a particular working period, the periods when the tool is switched off or when it is running but not actually doing the job should also be taken into account. This may significantly reduce the total exposure over the working period.
Additional safety measures to protect the operator from the effects of vibration, such as: maintaining the power tool and the working tools, keeping the hands warm, and organizing the work patterns.

The correctly tightened and secured quick-locking flange can be released by turning the threaded ring in the direction opposite to the arrow. If you cannot release the quick-locking flange with your hand, use the two-pin wrench 15.
Dust extraction system
Dust from materials such as lead-based paint, some wood types, minerals and metals can be harmful to health. Contact with or inhalation of such dust can cause allergic reactions and/or respiratory diseases in the operator or bystanders. Certain dusts, e.g. from oak or beech wood, are considered carcinogenic, especially in combination with wood treatment additives (chromate, wood preservatives). Only allow professionals to work with asbestos-containing materials.
- Ensure good ventilation of the work area.
- It is recommended to use a dust extraction system with a filter class P2. Follow the relevant regulations in your country for the materials being processed. Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can easily ignite.

Before using the device for measurement, check the device to ensure that it is not damaged. If the device is dropped or has been subjected to an impact, if the device has cracks or deformations, if the device has leaks or cracks in the housing, do not use the device. If you notice any damage or malfunction, check whether the device is still suitable for use. After you have checked and placed the device for measurement, do not allow anyone to be near the device while it is running, and let the device run for one minute at the highest speed. The check of the device for measurement will be described in the text of this manual. After use, clean the device. Depending on the use, after cleaning the device for dust, also clean the filters. If necessary, use a dust mask, a mask for dust, a respirator, or special filters that will protect the respiratory organs when processing the material. The filters should be cleaned of the dust that has accumulated, and they are replaced depending on the different use of the device. The dust mask and the mask for dust when vacuuming must be suitable for the dust that occurs during use. If you are working in a dusty environment, you may lose visibility. If there are other people in the work area, keep a safe distance. Any person who enters the work area must wear personal protective equipment. The operator of the device that is being used for measurement must not be distracted and must not cause damage or injury in the work area.
Hold the tool by the insulated gripping surfaces, because the cutting attachment may come into contact with hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a live wire can make the exposed metal parts of the tool live and can give the operator an electric shock. Hold the cutting attachment by the insulated gripping surfaces. If you damage the control of the device, the cutting attachment may cut into or get caught on the cord or the tool itself. Never leave the electric tool unattended while the cutting attachment is not fully stopped. The cutting attachment may come into contact with the surface on which you have left the tool, and you may lose control of the electric tool. The electric tool must not be in the clothing you are wearing. Your clothing must be protected from the cutting attachment, and the cutting attachment must not damage your body. Regularly clean the ventilation openings of your electric tool. The motor fan draws dust into the housing, and a large accumulation of metal dust can cause an electrical hazard. Do not use the electric tool near flammable materials. Sparks created can ignite these materials. Do not use cutting attachments that require liquid coolants. The use of water or other liquid coolants can result in an electric shock.
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or blocked cutting attachment, such as a grinding disc, grinding wheel, wire brush, etc. Pinching or blocking causes the rotating cutting attachment to stop suddenly. Thus, the uncontrolled electric tool is accelerated against the direction of rotation of the cutting attachment at the point of blockage. For example, if a grinding disc gets caught or blocked in the workpiece, the edge of the grinding disc that enters the workpiece can get caught and thus tear the grinding disc out or cause a kickback. The grinding disc then moves toward or away from the operator, depending on the direction of rotation of the disc at the point of blockage. Grinding discs can also break. Kickback is the result of improper use of the electric tool. It can be prevented by taking appropriate precautions as described below. The operator can control kickback forces with proper handling of the electric tool. Always

Additional protective devices, according to the standard, are needed to enable proper control over the device during reverse impact or reaction moments during operation. The user can, with appropriate means, adjust the device to withstand reverse impact or reaction forces. Never bring the device near flammable materials or substances that can ignite. Such substances can cause burns. The protective device must be installed so that the electrical device is protected from reverse impact. The reverse impact is explained in the electrical device's user manual. The protective device must be installed in the correct position and direction, as indicated in the manual. Pay special attention to the instructions for use with the device, especially when working with it. In this way, the device will be protected from damage that can occur during operation and from being dropped. The protective device is essential for safe operation; otherwise, the device may be damaged by impacts or sharp objects. This leads to loss of control or reverse impact. Do not use the device with sharp or pointed objects. Such objects can cause damage and lead to reverse impact or loss of control over the electrical device.
Special safety instructions for grinding
Use only grinding wheels that are designed for your electrical device and are protected by a guard. Wheels that are not designed for the electrical device cannot be adequately protected and are not safe. The grinding wheels must be mounted in such a way that the exposed surface for grinding does not protrude beyond the protective guard. Improperly mounted grinding wheels that protrude beyond the guard cannot be adequately protected. The protective guard must be attached to the electrical device at the highest level of safety, so that the exposed parts of the grinding wheel are visible to the user. The protective guard must be adjusted so that the user is protected from accidental contact with the grinding wheel, which can cause sparks that may ignite flammable materials. Grinding wheels can only be used for the intended purpose. For example, do not grind with the side surface of a cutting wheel. Cutting wheels are designed for cutting material. With improper use and force, these wheels can break. Always use the correct guard with the appropriate opening for the grinding wheel. The correct guard protects the grinding wheel and thus minimizes the risk of wheel breakage. Guards for cutting wheels differ from guards for other grinding wheels.
Do not use worn-out grinding wheels on large electrical devices. Grinding wheels for large electrical devices are not designed for the higher speeds of small electrical devices and can break.
Special safety instructions for working with wire brushes
Improper use of the device can cause damage to the device. Do not repair the device with high pressure. The device can be damaged and can cause injury to the user and/or to the device. When using the protective cover, do not allow it to come into contact with the device. The device in the form of a unit, the pressure and the centrifugal force can increase its diameter.

Information about noise/vibration
The noise emission values were measured in accordance with EN 60745-2-3.
The sound level of the device, measured with A weighting, is typically: sound pressure level 87 dB(A); sound power level 98 dB(A). Uncertainty K = 3 dB.
Wear hearing protection!
Vibration total values (vector sum of three directions) determined in accordance with EN 60745-2-3:
Surface grinding (rough grinding): a = 3.0 m/s², K = 1.5 m/s².
The vibration level given in these instructions has been measured in accordance with the standard procedure specified in EN 60745 and can be used for comparison of power tools. It can also be used for a preliminary assessment of vibration exposure. The stated vibration level is for the main application of the power tool. If the power tool is
used for other applications, with different accessories, or is not properly maintained, the vibration level may differ from the stated values. This may significantly increase the vibration exposure over the total working period. For an accurate estimation of vibration exposure, the periods when the tool is switched off or when it is running but not actually being used should also be taken into account. This may significantly reduce the vibration exposure over the total working period.
Tighten the additional safety measures to protect the operator from the effects of vibration, such as: maintain the power tools and accessories carefully, keep the tools sharp, and organize the work schedule.
