2.1 General safety instructions

▶ WARNING! READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS. Failure to follow all instructions listed below can result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN A HANDY YET SECURE PLACE. ▶ Do not tamper with or attempt to make alterations to the product. ▶ Use the right product for the job. Do not use the product for purposes for which it was not intended. Use it only as directed and when in faultless condition. ▶ Before beginning work with the product, find out how to operate it correctly and about any hazards associated with the materials it will be inducting and how these materials can be disposed of. ▶ Only persons who are familiar with it, who have been trained on how to use it safely and who understand the resulting hazards are permitted to use the product. The product is not intended for use by children. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the product. ▶ Store the product in a secure place when not in use. Products which are not in use must be stored in a dry, high place or locked away out of reach of children. ▶ Observe the accident prevention regulations applicable in your country. ▶ Use of the vacuum cleaner for cleaning down persons or animals is not permissible. ▶ Do not use the vacuum cleaner in or under water.

▶ Ensure that the workplace is well lit. ▶ Ensure that the workplace is well ventilated. Exposure to dust at a poorly ventilated workplace may result in damage to the health. ▶ Keep the work area clean and uncluttered and watch out for supply cords routed in the work area. Carelessly routed supply cords can constitute trip hazards and lead to injuries. ▶ Do not operate the product in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electric appliances cause sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. ▶ With vacuum cleaners it is necessary to ensure an adequate rate of air exchange (L) in the room in situations where the expelled air is returned to the room.

▶ Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the product. Do not use the product while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating the product can result in serious personal injury. ▶ Avoid unusual body positions. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. ▶ During use and maintenance of the product, the user and the other persons in the vicinity must wear personal protective equipment suitable for the application. Use of a vacuum cleaner can reduce dust-related hazards. ▶ This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge. ▶ Children must receive instruction and be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the product. ▶ This product can be used by children 8 years of age or older and by persons with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or little relevant experience or know-how if they are supervised or have received instruction on the safe use of the product and the resulting hazards. Do not allow children to play with the product. Do not allow unsupervised children to clean the device or to carry out user-maintenance tasks.

2.4 Electrical safety

▶ Do not expose the product to rain or moisture. Water entering an electric device will increase the risk of electric shock. ▶ Never operate the product when it is dirty or wet. Dust (especially dust from conductive materials) or dampness on the surface of the product may, under unfavorable conditions, lead to electric shock. Have dirtied or dusty products checked at regular intervals by Hilti Service, especially if they are used frequently for working on conductive materials. ▶ Before carrying out care and maintenance work, changing filters or accessories or leaving the product temporarily out of use (e.g. for work breaks), disconnect the product from the primary power supply (disconnect the supply cord plug from the power outlet, remove the battery). This safety precaution prevents the product from starting accidentally. ▶ Use an antistatic suction hose in order to avoid electrostatic effects.

2.5 Careful handling and use of the product

▶ Never leave the product unattended. ▶ Operate the vacuum cleaner only with the main filter installed and intact. Always check the filter prior to each use of the vacuum cleaner. ▶ Protect the product from frost. ▶ Check the product and its accessories for any damage. Guards, safety devices and any slightly damaged parts must be checked carefully to ensure that they function faultlessly and as intended. Check that moving parts function faultlessly, without sticking, and that no parts are damaged. All parts must be fitted correctly and fulfill all conditions necessary for correct operation of the product. ▶ Have your product repaired only by qualified, skilled personnel, using only genuine Hilti spare parts. This ensures that the safety of the product is maintained. ▶ Do not transport the product by crane or with other hoists. ▶ Do not stand on the product (do not use it as a substitute for a ladder).

2.6 The material vacuumed up

▶ Before starting work, always check the hazard class of harmful dust that can be produced in working operations. Materials harmful to health such as asbestos and lead are explicitly not included in the intended use of the product and working with them is not permitted → page 13. If you work with materials containing lead or asbestos nevertheless, the manufacturer's warranty for your product is voided. ▶ The following materials are explicitly not to be vacuumed up with this product: ▶ Flammable and/or explosive metallic dusts (e.g. magnesium or aluminum dust) ▶ Materials hotter than 60 °C (140 °F) (e.g. glowing cigarettes, hot ashes) ▶ Aggressive liquids, such as for example coolants and lubricants, gasoline, solvents, acids (pH <5), alkalies (pH >12.5) ▶ Asbestos, materials containing asbestos, lead and materials containing lead ▶ Dust produced by grinding, sanding, cutting and drilling can contain dangerous chemicals. Some examples are: lead or lead-based paints; brick, concrete and other masonry products, natural stone and other products containing quartz; certain types of wood, such as oak, beech and chemically treated wood; asbestos or materials that contain asbestos. Determine the exposure of the operator and bystanders by means of the hazard classification of the materials to be worked. Implement the necessary measures to restrict exposure to a safe level, for example by the use of a dust collection system or by the wearing of suitable respiratory protection. The general measures for reducing exposure include: ▶ working in an area that is well ventilated,*2415707* 2415707 English 13 ▶ avoidance of prolonged contact with dust, ▶ directing dust away from the face and body, ▶ wearing protective clothing and washing exposed areas of the skin with water and soap. ▶ Wear protective gloves when using the appliance to vacuum up hot materials at temperatures up to 60 °C (140 °F). ▶ The vacuum cleaner must be equipped with suitable filters corresponding to the hazard classification of the dusts to be vacuumed up. ▶ Do not vacuum up objects or materials that could cause injury by piercing through the dust bag (e.g. pointed or sharp objects). 3 Description

The product described is a cordless vacuum cleaner and is designed for commercial use, e.g. in hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices and by rental companies. It is suitable for dry applications only.

• For this product, use only Hilti Nuron lithium-ion batteries of the B 22 series. For optimum performance, Hilti recommends the batteries stated in the table at the end of these operating instructions for this product.

• For these batteries, use only Hilti chargers of the type series stated in the table at the end of these operating instructions.

Dry vacuum cleaner complete with filter element, suction hose with connectors, hand nozzle, crevice nozzle, shoulder strap, clip with holder for shoulder strap and operating instructions. 3.6 Indication of overloading and overheating

The power tool is equipped with an electronic system to protect against overloading and overheating. The power tool switches itself off automatically in the event of overloading or overheating. The power tool might not restart immediately after being switched off and then on again at the control switch (cooling phases). 4 Technical data

5.1 Installing battery-compartment attachment 5

Install the clip prior to initial start-up. ▶ Push the battery-compartment attachment into the mounts intended for the purpose until the battery- compartment attachment snaps into engagement. Make sure that the holder for the shoulder strap is facing up.

5.2 Changing the filter bag 2

1. Open the two catches.

2. Lift the suction head off the waste material container.

3. Remove the filter bag and remove the holder for the filter bag.

4. Push the holder for the filter bag on to a new filter bag.

5. Secure the holder with the filter bag to the ribs of the waste material container.

6. Fit the suction head on to the waste material container and close the two catches.

5.3 Connecting/disconnecting the suction hose

1. Connect the suction hose to the suction hose intake socket.

▶ The suction hose should be heard to engage.

To disconnect the suction hose, press and hold down the EJECT button.

3. Disconnect the suction hose from the suction hose intake socket.

6.1 Switching the device on / off

To switch on the device, turn the control switch to this position: MAX. To operate the device for a longer period at reduced suction power, set the control switch to this position: ECO.

To switch off the device, set the control switch to this position: OFF.

6.2 Cleaning the filter

1. Switch the appliance on.

2. Hold your hand over the end of the hose.

3. Wait until maximum vacuum pressure is reached.

Press the CLEAN button 4-5 times.

5. Switch the appliance off.

6.3 After use of the vacuum cleaner

Turn the control switch to the OFF position.

2. Empty the container and clean the vacuum cleaner with a damp cloth.

3. Store the vacuum cleaner in a secure, dry place where it is inaccessible to unauthorized users.

7.1 Instructions for care of vacuum cleaners

WARNING Electric shock hazard! Improper repairs to electrical parts can lead to serious injuries due to electric shock. ▶ Electrical parts may be repaired only by trained electrical specialists.

• Carefully remove stubborn dirt.16 English 2415707 *2415707*

• Use only a slightly damp cloth to clean the housing. Do not use cleaning agents containing silicone as these can attack the plastic parts.

• Use a dry, clean cloth to clean the contacts of the product.

• Keep the vacuum cleaner, especially its gripping surfaces, clean and free from oil and grease. Do not use cleaning agents containing silicone.

• Never operate the vacuum cleaner when the air vents are blocked! Clean the air vents carefully using a dry brush. Prevent foreign matter from penetrating inside the turbine aperture.

• Clean the top edge of the waste material container and its groove with particular care, because cleanliness here is decisive for the seal between waste material container and suction head.

The condition of the filter element deteriorates with use. Do not clean the filter element by knocking it against hard surfaces. Avoid compressed-air cleaners and pointed objects that can damage the filter material. By complying with these precautions you prolong the usable life of the filter element. ▶ Replace the filter element at least every six months. ▶ Replace the filter element more frequently if the appliance is used intensively.

7.3 Changing main filter 3

1. Switch the product off.

2. Open the two catches.

3. Lift the suction head off the waste material container.

4. Open the twist lock.

5. Remove the main filter element with filter frame.

6. Remove all dust from the seal and from the filter frame holder.

7. Set the filter frame on a new main filter.

8. Fit the filter frame into the holder for the filter frame.

9. Lock the filter frame into position with the filter latches.

10. Fit the suction head on to the waste material container and close the two catches.

7.4 Changing discharged-air filter fleece 4

1. Press the button to release the discharged-air filter and remove the filter support.

2. Remove the filter fleece from the filter support.

3. Attach a new filter fleece to the filter support.

4. Fit the filter support to the appliance.

8 Transport Do not attempt to crane-lift the vacuum cleaner. ▶ Store accessories and attachments in the holders intended for the purpose. ▶ Empty the vacuum cleaner before the vacuum cleaner is to be carried to another location. 9 Troubleshooting If a problem occurs, always observe the status indicator of the battery. See the section headed Status indicators of the Liion battery. If the trouble you are experiencing is not listed in this table or you are unable to rectify the problem by yourself, contact Hilti Service. Most of the materials from which Hilti products are manufactured can be recycled. The materials must be correctly separated before they can be recycled. In many countries, your old tools, machines or appliances can be returned to Hilti for recycling.
