General safety instructions Read and observe all safety instructions and store them in a safe place! Intended use
- Only use hair clippers to cut human hair, beard hair and eyebrows.
- Only use animal clippers to cut animal hair and animal fur.
- This appliance is designed for commercial use. User requirements
- Read the operating manual in full and familiarise yourself with it before the first use.
- This appliance can be used both by children aged 14 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children, unless they are supervised by an adult.
- Keep the appliance out of reach of animals and protected against the effects of the weather. Hazards Danger! Electric shock due to damage to appliance/plug-in transformer. f Do not use the appliance if it is not working correctly, if it is damaged or if it has fallen into water. f Never use the appliance if the mains cable or plug-in transformer is damaged. f In order to avoid hazards, repairs may only be performed at an authorised service centre or by specialists properly trained in the handling of electro- technical appliances, and using original spare parts. f Have the appliance inspected at a service centre before using it again. f Only use and store the appliance in dry rooms. Danger of explosion! f Do not attempt to replace the battery cells. Lithium ion batteries may explode, catch fire and/or cause burns if they are dismantled, damaged or exposed to moisture and/or high temperatures. f Only use original battery packs that are available from your dealer or from our service centre as accessories f Do not expose the appliance to temperatures below 0°C and above +40°C for any length of time. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. Warning! Injuries caused by overheating of blade sets. f The blade set can heat up if the appliance is used over a prolonged period. Take regular breaks when using the appliance so that the blade set can cool down. Warning! Injuries due to incorrect handling. f Never use the appliance if the blade set is damaged. f Always switch the appliance off before storage, as the appliance can fall down due to the vibrations. Caution! Injuries due to incorrect handling. f Only operate the plug-in transformer with the voltage stated on the nameplate. f Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer. f Only use the plug-in transformer that is included in the scope of supply. Only replace defective plug-in transformers with original spare parts which you can order via our service centres. f Never insert or allow objects to fall into the openings of the appliance. f Do not carry the appliance by the mains cable and, when disconnecting the appliance from the mains, always pull the plug rather than the cable or the appliance. f Keep the mains cable and appliance away from hot surfaces. f Make sure that the mains cable is not twisted or kinked when operating or storing.12 ENGLISH

Operation Preparation Keep the packaging material for safe storage or transport later. f Check that the contents are complete. f Check all the parts for possible transport damage. Safety Caution! Damage due to incorrect power supply. f Only operate the hair clipper with the voltage stated on the nameplate. Charging the battery This cordless hair clipper is supplied with two battery packs. While the appliance is in use, the second battery pack can be recharged on the charging stand. This means that the hair clipper is always ready for use. Before the hair clipper is used for the first time, each battery pack should be charged for the following times:
1. Connect the appliance plug (R) on the plug-in transformer (S) to the
plug socket (H) of the charging stand (Fig.2
2. Connect the plug-in transformer to the mains socket (Fig.2
3. Insert the battery pack into the recess of the charging stand (Fig. 4).
The charging process starts.
- During charging, the charging indicator (D) flashes red.
- It should take around 50 minutes for the STANDARD BAT
TERY pack to charge to full capacity.
- It should take around 120 minutes for the XXL BATTERY pack (optionally available) to charge to full capacity.
- The second battery can remain in the charging stand so that a charged battery pack is always available.
4. Once the charging process has finished, the charging indicator (D)
lights up green. Battery operation
1. Switch on the hair clipper using the on/off switch and switch off
- In case of insufficient maintenance of the blade set, the operating time can be reduced considerably.
- While in operation with a fully charged battery, the charging indicator (D) lights up green.
- Whenever the charging indicator (D) lights up red during operation, the battery pack needs to be recharged. You can now use the charged replacement battery pack. To recharge the battery:
1. Switch off the hair clipper using the on/off switch (Fig.5
2. Press the release button (C) on the side and remove the battery
3. Remove the charged battery pack (Fig. 4) from the charging stand
and slide it into the hair clipper until it locates with an audible click (Fig.3
4. Fit the flat battery pack to the charging stand (Fig.4). See section
Charging the battery. Operation Setting the cutting length The cutting length can be adjusted to between 0.7mm and 3 mm (5 possible positions) using the cutting-length adjustment (G) integrated into the blade set (Fig. 6). Cutting with the attachment comb The hair clipper can also be operated with attachment combs. f In order to achieve the indicated cutting length, the cutting length adjustment lever (G) should be set to position 1 (Fig. 6). Depending on the model, the following attachment combs are included as standard: 3mm, 6mm, 9mm and 12mm, 18mm and 25mm cutting lengths. Attaching/removing the attachment comb

Injuries and material damage due to incorrect handling. f Switch off the hair clipper before cleaning it or perform- ing any maintenance. f Disconnect the charging station from the power supply before cleaning it. Cleaning and care Danger! Electric shock due to penetration of liquid. f Do not immerse the hair clipper in water! f Do not allow any liquid to get inside the hair clipper. Caution! Danger from aggressive chemicals. Aggressive chemicals could damage the hair clipper and accessories. f Never use solvents or scouring agents. f Only use cleaning agents and blade set oil recom
mended by the manufacturer. Accessories and spare parts are available from your dealer or our service centre. f Remove the attachment comb (Fig. 7
) and lift the blade set out of the housing (Fig. 8
), see replacement of the blade set . f Use the cleaning brush (Q) to remove any cut hairs from the hous- ing opening and from the blade set (Fig. 9).14 ENGLISH
f Press the cleaning lever (l). This allows the cut hairs that accumulate between the bottom blade and the top blade to be easily removed using the cleaning brush(EASY CLEANING). f Only wipe the hair clipper with a soft, slightly damp cloth. f The contacts on the charging stand, the hand-held appliance and on the battery pack should always be kept clean. f Clean the blade set regularly using the hygienic spray (available as an accessory). f Oil the specified areas of the blade set with one small drop of oil each (Fig. 10). f Reinstall the blade set and fold the blade set back into position (Fig. 8
), see Replacing the blade set. f For a good and long-lasting cutting performance, it is important to oil the blade set frequently. f If the cutting performance deteriorates after long use despite regular cleaning and oiling, the blade set should be replaced. Changing the blade set
1. Switch off the hair clipper using the on/off switch (Fig.5
2. Slide the blade set off the housing in the direction of the arrow (Fig.
3. Replace the blade set by hooking it into the housing and pressing it
down until it clicks into position (Fig.8
Problem elimination Blade set is cutting badly or pulling hair out. Cause: Blade set is dirty or worn out. f Clean and oil the blade set. If this does not resolve the problem, replace the blade set (Fig.8/9/10). Skin injury Cause: Too much pressure on the skin. f Reduce pressure when cutting close to skin. Cause: Damaged blade set. f Check whether the blade edges were damaged during use and replace the blade set if necessary. Battery operating time is too short Cause: Blade set and housing opening are dirty. f Clean and oil the blade set (Fig. 8//9/10). Cause: Battery is worn out. f Replace the battery pack with an original spare part. Replacement battery packs are available from your dealer or from our service centre as accessories. Charging indicator does not light up Cause: The battery pack is not correctly positioned on the charging stand. f Ensure that the battery pack has been correctly placed on the charging stand. Disposal Handle with care! Environmental damage in the event of incorrect disposal. f Discharge batteries prior to disposal! f Correct disposal will ensure environmental protection and prevent any potentially harmful impact on people and the environment. Adhere to the relevant legal requirements when disposing of the appliance. Information on the disposal of electrical and electronic appli
ances in the European Community: Within the European Community, national regulations are specified for the disposal of electrical appliances, based on EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive 2012/19/EC (WEEE). In accordance with this, the appliance can no longer be disposed of with the local or domestic waste. The appliance will be accepted free of charge by local collec
tion points or recycling centres. The packaging for this product is made from recyclable materials. Dispose of this in an environmentally friendly manner by recycling it. Cause: Charging contacts are dirty. f Clean the charging contacts on the charging stand and on the battery pack. Cause: Defective power supply. f Ensure that the plug-in transformer is plugged into the mains socket and the charging station. f Check the mains cable for possible damage.
