How to charge the Chromini Pro 2 1591 trimmer?

To charge, plug the mains adapter into the charging stand, then place the switched-off trimmer on the stand. The charging indicator flashes during charging. Full charge takes about 120 minutes. Use only the supplied adapter.

What is the battery life?

Battery life varies by model: up to 100 minutes for type 1591Q, 60 minutes for 1591T, and 85 minutes for 1591T(U). After 5 to 10 charge cycles, optimal capacity is reached.

How to adjust the cutting length?

Use the adjustable comb. Slide it onto the cutting head until it clicks. The length can be set in 5 levels, from 3 mm (comb pushed forward) to 6 mm (comb pulled back).

How to clean the cutting head?

Switch off and unplug the trimmer. Remove the comb then the cutting head by pulling it away from the housing. Use the brush to remove hairs. Activate the cleaning lever for easy cleaning. Oil the head regularly.

What to do if the trimmer pulls hairs?

This may be due to a dirty or worn cutting head. Clean and oil the head. If the problem persists, replace the cutting head. Avoid pressing too hard on the skin.

How to change the cutting head?

Switch off the device. Press the cutting head in the direction of the arrow to detach it. To reattach, place the hook in the housing and push until it clicks.

Please note that we perform quality tests on all of our products. Therefore, you may find small synthetic hair on the blade set or on the machine. However, we assure you that your clipper and cutting blade / blade set are unused.

Safety

Caution! Damage due to incorrect power supply.

▶ Only operate the appliance with the voltage stated on the nameplate.

Charging the battery

1. Connect the appliance plug on the plug-in transformer to the charging stand socket (Fig. 2(a)).

Battery overcharging is prevented thanks to intelligent charge management.

1. Connect the plug-in transformer to the mains socket (Fig. 2 ⓑ).
2. Switch off the appliance using the on/off switch (Fig. 3 ⑥).
3. Place the appliance in the charging stand (Fig. 2).

- During charging, the charging indicator flashes at evenly spaced intervals.

- After the appliance has been removed from the charging stand, the display goes out (power saving mode).

1. As soon as the battery is fully charged, the charging indicator flashes at a different rate (10 on / 1 off).

Battery operation

1. Switch on the appliance using the on/off switch, and switch off after use (Fig. 3(a)/b).

In case of insufficient maintenance of the blade set, the operating time can be reduced considerably.

Operation

Cutting with attachment comb

The appliance can also be operated with an attachment comb.

The attachment comb has 5 detent positions for adjusting the cutting length.
The further the attachment comb is pushed onto the blade set, the shorter the cutting length.

The cutting length can be adjusted from 3 mm (Fig. 5(a)) to 6 mm (Fig. 5(b)).

1. Slide the attachment comb onto the blade set (Fig. 4 a) in the direction of the arrow until it locks in place.
2. The attachment comb can be removed by pushing it in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 4(b)).

Maintenance

Warning! Injuries and material damage due to incorrect handling.

▶ Before performing any cleaning and maintenance work, switch off the device and disconnect it from the power supply.

Cleaning and care

Danger! Electric shock due to penetration of liquid.

▶ Do not immerse the appliance in water!
▶ Do not allow any liquid to get inside the appliance.

Caution! Danger from aggressive chemicals.

Aggressive chemicals could damage the appliance and accessories.

▶ Never use solvents or scouring agents.
▶ Only use cleaning agents and blade set oil recommended by the manufacturer.

Remove the attachment comb (Fig.6a) and lift the blade set out of the housing (Fig. 6a). Use the cleaning brush to remove any cut hairs from the housing opening and from the blade set (Fig. 7). The cleaning lever can also be pressed. This allows the cut hairs that accumulate between the bottom blade and the top blade to be easily removed using the cleaning brush (EASY CLEANING).
▶ The charging contacts on the appliance and on the charging stand should always be kept clean.
▶ Only wipe the appliance with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
▶ Oil the blade set with blade set oil (Fig. 8).

For a good and long-lasting cutting performance, it is important to oil the blade set frequently.
▶ If the cutting performance deteriorates after long use despite regular cleaning and oiling, the blade set should be replaced.

Changing the blade set

1. Slide the blade set off the housing in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 6(a)). Remove the blade set.
2. Replace the blade set by hooking it into the housing and pressing it down until it clicks into position (Fig. 6(b)).

Problem solving

Blade set is cutting badly or pulling hair out.

Cause: Blade set is dirty or worn out.

▶ Clean and oil the blade set. If this does not resolve the problem, replace the blade set.

Skin injury

Cause: Too much pressure on the skin.

▶ Reduce pressure when cutting close to skin.

Cause: Damaged blade set.

▶ Check whether the blade edges were damaged during use and replace the blade set if necessary.

Battery operating time is too short

Cause: A blade set that is very dirty and has not been oiled can reduce the available battery operating time substantially!

▶ Carefully clean and oil the blade set. If the blade set is clean and oiled and the battery operating time is still far too short, it is likely that the batteries are nearing the end of their life.

Charging indicator does not light up

Cause: The appliance must be switched off for charging.

▶ Check whether the appliance is switched off.

Cause: Appliance has not been correctly placed on the charging stand.

▶ Ensure that the appliance has been correctly placed on the charging stand.

Cause: The charging stand is not compatible with the appliance.

▶ Only use the charger that is included in the scope of supply. Refer to the nameplate on the hand-held appliance and charger.

Cause: Charging contacts are dirty.

- Clean the charging contacts on the appliance and on the charging stand.

Cause: Defective power supply.

▶ Make sure that there is a faultless contact between the plug-in transformer and the socket.

▶ Check the mains cable for possible damage.
