Frequently Asked Questions - KUADRA ISLAND ELICA

What is the difference between extraction and recirculation mode?
In extraction mode, air is evacuated to the outside via a duct. In recirculation mode, air is recycled through an activated charcoal filter before being sent back into the room. To use the recirculation mode, a charcoal filter must be installed.
What distance should I keep between the hood and the hob?
The minimum distance between the cooking surface and the lowest part of the hood is 50 cm for an electric hob and 65 cm for a gas or mixed hob. Respect greater distances indicated in your hob's manual.
How to clean the grease filters?
The metal grease filters should be cleaned once a month. You can wash them by hand with a non-aggressive detergent or in the dishwasher (short cycle, low temperature). Dishwashing may discolor the filter without affecting its efficiency.
When to replace the charcoal filter?
The charcoal filter should be cleaned every 2 months (or according to the saturation indicator) and replaced every 3 years. It can be washed with hot water or in a dishwasher at 65°C, then dried in the oven at 100°C for 10 minutes.
How to interpret the light signals on the display?
The display may show:
- 1 flashing = grease filter maintenance (after 40 h).
- 2 flashing = charcoal filter maintenance (after 160 h).
- 1 and 2 alternating = both filters need maintenance.
- 4 flashing = intensive speed active.
- Flashing symbol = temperature alarm, motor switches to speed 3.
How to reset the filter saturation indicator?
For the grease filter: press the '2' button for more than 3 seconds, hood on. For the charcoal filter: press the '2' button again for more than 3 seconds. In case of simultaneous signal, repeat the procedure twice.
How to activate or deactivate the charcoal filter signal?
With the hood off, press and hold the '2' and '3' buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. If the numbers 1 and 2 flash alternately, the charcoal signal is activated. If only 1 flashes, it is deactivated.
Can I use the hood without the lamps?
No, do not use the hood without the lamps properly mounted, as there is a risk of electric shock. Replace faulty lamps with LED 2.6 W max, type GU4.
How to replace an LED lamp?
First unplug the appliance. Make sure the lamp is cold. Using a small flat-head screwdriver, pry on the edge of the bulb and remove it. Insert the new bulb (LED 2.6 W GU4). If the light does not work, check proper installation.
What to do in case of temperature alarm?
The temperature alarm triggers if the display area becomes too hot. The motor automatically switches to speed 3 and a symbol flashes. The alarm stops when the temperature goes down. You can exit this mode by pressing a button ('2', '3', or '4').
