Warning: The machine must always be held with

both hands during work. Place your left hand on the upper handle and your right hand on the lower handle. Lift the lower handle so that the bag is on the right side of the operator. When used as a vacuum collector, it is best to operate the engine at medium/high speed. During collection, hold the rounded end of the tube a few centimetres above the oor. The bag also func- tions as a lter similar to a standard household vacuum cleaner. For this reason it is best:

  • Do not ll the leaf collection bucket completely
  • To remove bulky objects immediately. To empty the collection bucket:
  • Switch o󰀨 the engine.
  • Open the zip (11) and empty the bag without discon- necting it from the connecting tube.
  • IMPORTANT When using the vacuum collector, do not collect damp grass or leaves, as this may cause the rotor or bag to become blocked. IMPORTANT When using the machine as a vacuum collector, there is a risk of sucking in objects that could block the machine and the rotor. In this case:
  • Switch o󰀨 the engine immediately - remove the spark plug connector.
  • Disassemble the vacuum tubes.
  • Remove the foreign object from the vacuum inlet.
  • Make sure that nothing is blocking the rotor before using the machine again. IMPORTANT If the bag is too full this reduces the e󰀩ciency of the machine and can cause the en- gine to overheat. When you have nished your work:
  • Switch o󰀨 the engine as described above.www.scheppach.com
  • Never clean or splash the device with water. Only clean the engine housing with a damp cloth and never use cleaning agents or solvents! This could damage the plastic parts of the device. Finally, dry the engine housing carefully.
  • After nishing work, remove the collection bag, turn it inside out and clean it thoroughly to prevent mould and unpleasant odours from developing.
  • A heavily soiled collection bag can be washed with soap and water.
  • If the zip is di󰀩cult to operate, rub the zip teeth with a dry soap bar.
  • Clean the suction/blast pipe with a brush if it is dirty.
  • Contamination from the material being drawn in may impair the movement of the toggle lever (blow/ suction). In this case, switching between suction and blowing several times will restore the toggle lever's functionality.
  • Only use original accessories and spare parts.

After repairs or maintenance, make sure that all safe- ty-related parts are installed and are in perfect con- dition. All parts which may cause injury must be kept where they are inaccessible to children or others. Attention: According to the German Product Liability Act, no liability is accepted for damage caused by im- proper repairs or by not using original spare parts. Note: Store the device in a dry location, far away from potential sources of ignition, such as furnaces, hot wa- ter boilers with gas, gas dryers, etc. Recommissioning

  • Remove the spark plug.
  • Pull the starter cord quickly to remove excess oil from the combustion chamber.
  • Clean the spark plug and check that the electrode gap on the spark plug is correct is correctly set, or in- sert a new spark plug with the correct electrode gap.
  • Prepare the device for operation.

Replace and clean the spark plug (Fig. 3) Check the electrode gap of the spark plug at least once a year or regularly if starting is poor. The correct distance between the ignition ag and ig- nition contact is 0.63 mm/0.25”.

  • Wait until the engine has cooled down completely.
  • Pull the spark plug connector o󰀨 the spark plug and unscrew the spark plug with the supplied spark plug wrench.
  • If the electrode is worn excessively or if it is very encrusted, the spark plug must be replaced with one of the same type.
  • Heavy incrustation on the spark plug can be caused by: Too high a proportion of oil in the petrol mixture, poor oil quality, outdated petrol mixture, or blocked air lter.
  • Screw the spark plug into the thread completely by hand. Avoid tilting the spark plug.
  • Tighten the spark plug with the supplied spark plug wrench.
  • When using a torque wrench, the tightening torque is 12-15 Nm.
  • Push the spark plug connector onto the spark plug properly. Clean the air lter (Fig. 4) Fouled air lters diminish the engine output due to reduced air supply to the carburettor. Dust and pollen clog the pores of the foam lter. Regular inspection is therefore essential.
  • Loosen (A) the air lter cover (B) and remove the sponge lter element (C).
  • Replace the air lter cover (B) so that nothing falls into the air duct.www.scheppach.com
