How to assemble the blower for blowing mode?

Push the blower tube onto the body until the lug snaps into the notch. Make sure the appliance is unplugged and the switch is in the OFF position before assembly.

How to use the vacuum mode?

The vacuum mode requires the vacuum tubes (optional accessory). Insert the lower tube into the upper tube, then attach the assembly to the vacuum port. The switch must be at high speed for vacuuming. Remember to attach the collection bag.

What are the essential safety instructions?

Always wear safety goggles and ear protectors. Never point the tube at people or animals. Do not use in the rain. Unplug before maintenance. Use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.

What to do if the appliance does not start?

Check that the cord is plugged in, that the switch is not in the OFF position, that the vacuum tubes and bag are correctly installed, and that the vacuum inlet cover is closed. If necessary, reset the circuit breaker.

How to clean the collection bag?

Empty the bag after each use. Put on eye protection, turn the bag inside out and shake it vigorously to remove dust. Clean it dry; do not use water.

Use a weather-resistant extension cord with ratings suitable for the tool. Secure it to the cord lock to prevent accidental disconnection.

How to store the appliance after use?

How to unclog a tube or blocked impeller?

GENERAL SAFETY RULES

1. Important safety instruction

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

• Please read all of the safety and operating instructions carefully before using this product. Please pay particular attention to all sections of this operator manual that carry warning symbols and notices. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, burn, and/or serious injury.

• This tool is intended for blowing and mulching. Never use the tool other than its intended use, such as inflating balloons.
• The tool should be connected only to a power supply of the same voltage as indicated on the nameplate, and can only be operated on single-phase AC supply. They are double-insulated and can, therefore, also be used from sockets without earth wire.
• Save all warning and instructions for future reference.

2. Training

• Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the controls and the proper use of the tool.

• Never allow children to use the tool.

• Never allow people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the tool. Local Regulations may restrict the age of the operator.

• Never operate the tool while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.
• The operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property.

3. Preparation

• While operating the tool, always wear substantial footwear and long trousers.
• Dress properly - Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. They can be caught in moving parts. Use of sturdy gloves and substantial footwear is recommended when working outdoors.
• Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair. Wear protective goggles while operating.
• To prevent dust irritation the wearing of a face mask is recommended.
• Before using, check the supply and extension cord for signs of damage and aging. Do not use the tool if the cord is damaged or worn.
• Never operate the tool with defective guards or shields, or without safety devices, for example collection bag in place.
• Only use a weather proof extension cable correctly rated to your machine.

4. Operation

• Always direct the cable to the rear away from the tool.
• If the cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect the cord from the supply immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE DISCONNECTING FROM THE SUPPLY. Do not use the tool if the cord is damaged or worn.
• Do not carry the tool by the cable.
• Avoid Dangerous Environment - Don't use the tool in damp or wet locations.
• Disconnect the tool from the mains supply whenever you leave the tool, before clearing a blockage, before checking, cleaning or working on the tool. If the tool starts to vibrate abnormally switch it off immediately, disconnect the tool from the mains and inspect for obstructions or damage to the unit.
• Operate the tool only in daylight or in good artificial light.
• Do not overreach and keep your balance at all times.
  Always be sure of your footing on slopes.
• Walk, never run.
• Keep all cooling air inlets clear of debris.
• Never blow debris in the direction of bystanders.
• The tool should be supplied via a residual device with a tripping current of not more than 30mA .

5. Maintenance and storage

• Keep all nuts, bolts and screw tight to be sure the tool is in safe working condition.
• Check the tool frequently for wear or deterioration.
• Replace worn or damaged parts.
• Use only genuine replacement parts and accessories.
• Store Idle Tools Indoors - When not in use, tools should be stored indoors in dry, and high or locked-up place - out of reach of children.

6. Additional safety rules for blower / mulcher

• Always wear adequate protective clothing when operating the tool to avoid injuries to face, eyes, hands, feet, head or hearing. Use safety glasses or a face shield, high boots or sturdy shoes, long trousers, work gloves, a hard hat and ear defenders.
• Do not start the tool when it is upside down or when it is not in the operating position.
• Switch the motor off and disconnect from power when the tool is not being used, left unattended, being cleaned, being moved from one place to another or when the extension cord is entangled or damaged.
• Do not operate the tool near people, especially children or pets. Turn it off if they get too close. Maintain a safe distance of at least 5m from other people when using the tool.
• Never direct the blower tube towards bystanders or pets. Never blow debris in the direction of bystanders or pets. The operator is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property.
• Do not handle the plug or the tool with wet hands and do not use the tool in the rain.
• Use only outdoor rated extension leads that are so marked. Keep the extension cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
• Ensure that the extension lead is secured in a manner that prevents it from disconnecting from the plug whilst in use.
• Keep all the air intakes and the blower tube free of dust, lint, hair and other material that may cause a reduction in air flow.
• Keep a balanced and stable stance while using the tool.
• Do not switch on the tool in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces or in the presence of flammable and/or explosive substance such as liquids, gases and powders.
• Do not get distracted and always concentrate on what you are doing. Use common sense. Never operate the tool when you are tired, sick or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.
• Do not operate this tool with long loose hair or loose fitting jewellery. Tie long loose hair back and remove loose fitting jewellery.
• Do not allow the tool to pick up any burning or smoldering materials like ashes, cigarette butts etc.
• Do not attempt to pick up breakable objects like glass, plastics, china etc.
• Do not use in mulching operation without the collection bag fitted.
• Do not use the tool in either the mulcher or the blower mode on gravel surfaces.
• Only operate the tool during broad daylight or with adequate artificial light.
• When the tool is not in use, store it in a dry place and out of reach of children.
• After use, disconnect the tool from the power supply and inspect for wear and damage. If you have the slightest doubts, contact an authorized service centre.
• Only use the tool according to the instructions given in this manual.
• Check regularly that screws are tight.

• Use only spare parts and accessories recommended by the manufacture.

• Do not try to repair the tool or access internal parts. Contact authorized service centers only.

• It is recommended that the tool should be used with a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current of no more than 30mA .

ASSEMBLY

UNPACKING

• Carefully remove the product and any accessories from the box.
• Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
• Do not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the product.
• If any parts are damaged or missing, please call your Dolmar service centre for assistance.

The tool is supplied with some components not assembled. To assemble them, proceed as follows:

WARNING:

• To prevent serious personal injury, make sure the switch is in the OFF position, it is unplugged, and the impellers have stopped before attaching or removing tubes.

ASSEMBLE AS A BLOWER (Fig. 3)

• Slide blower tube forward until the notched areas on the blower housing click into the slots on the tube.

ASSEMBLE AS A MULCHER (optional accessory) (Fig. 2)

• Slide the front and rear mulcher tubes together until locked. (See Fig. 2.)
• Pull the lock button forward to disengage the gate. Hold the gate open. (See Fig. 2.1.)
• Insert the "wedged" end clip of the mulcher tube into the rear clip. (See Fig. 2.2.) Push the "hooked" end clip of the mulcher tube into the front clip. (See Fig. 2.3.) Press the lock button back to engage the mulcher tube. (See Fig. 2.4.)
• To remove mulcher tubes, follow the steps above in reverse.
• Insert the bag adaptor into the blower outlet. Lock the bag adaptor with the lock button. To remove the bag, simply press lock button and remove bag. (See Fig. 4.)

NOTE:

• It may be necessary to remove the blower tube or mulcher tubes to clear a blocked tube or impeller.

INSTALLING BAG WITH SHOULDER STRAP (Fig. 4)

• While standing in the operating position adjust the length to fit the operator's size. Pull the tab to lengthen, pull the strap to shorten.

OPERATION

CONNECTING THE POWER CORD (Fig. 5)

• Secure the extension cord to the motor housing using the cord retainer. This prevents accidental removal of the electrical cord.
• Connect the female end of the extension cord with the plug of the unit.

STARTING/STOPPING THE BLOWER/MULCHER (Fig. 6)

• To turn on, slide the power/speed slide switch. '1' indicates the tool runs at slow speed, and '2' at high speed.
  To turn off, slide the switch to '0'.

IMPORTANT:

• While in mulching mode (optional accessory) the blower MUST be in high speed position.

HOLDING THE TOOL

Before operating the unit, stand in the operating position. Check for the following:

• Wear proper clothing, such as boots, safety glasses or goggles, ear/hearing protection, gloves, long pants and a long sleeve shirt.

WARNING:

• To avoid serious personal injury, wear goggles or safety glasses that comply with EN 166 or ANSI Z87.1 at all times when operating this unit. Wear a face mask or dust mask in dusty locations.

WARNING:

• To prevent serious personal injury or damage to the unit, make sure the blower tube or the mulcher tubes and the bag are in place before operating the unit.

OPERATING TIPS (Fig. 7)

Assure the unit is not directed at anybody or any loose debris before starting the unit.
- Verify that the unit is in good working condition. Make sure the tubes and guards are in place and secure.
- Always hold the unit with both hands when operating.
- Keep a firm grip on both the front and rear handle or grips.
- To reduce the risk of hearing loss associated with sound level(s), hearing protection is required.
- Use the shoulder strap when using unit as a mulcher.
- Be sure the bag is installed properly and zipped close (when used as a mulcher).
- Operate power equipment only at reasonable hours - not early in the morning or late at night when people might be disturbed. Comply with times listed in local ordinances. Usual recommendations are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.
- To reduce noise levels, limit the number of pieces of equipment used at any one time.
- To reduce noise levels, operate the tool at low speed if possible.
- Use rakes and brooms to loosen debris before blowing.
- In dusty conditions, slightly dampen surfaces.
- Conserve water by using power blowers instead of hoses for many lawn and garden applications, including areas such as gutters, screens, patios, grills, porches, and gardens.
- Watch out for children, pets, open windows or freshly washed cars, and blow debris safely away.
- Clean up after using blowers and other equipment. Dispose of debris appropriately.

NOTE:

• Please ensure that the Mulching Gate is completely closed and locked.

AIR VENTS

• Never cover air vents. Keep them free from obstructions and debris. They must always remain clear for proper motor cooling.

WARNING:

• To avoid serious personal injury, do not wear loose fitting clothing or articles such as scarves, strings, chains, ties, etc., that could get drawn into the air vents. To make sure long hair does not get drawn into the air vents, tie back long hair.

Hold the blower firmly. Sweep from side to side with the nozzle several inches above the ground or floor. Slowly advance the unit, keeping the accumulated pile of debris in front of you. Most dry blowing operations are better suited to low speeds, rather than high. High speed blowing is a better way to move heavier items like large debris or gravel.

OPERATING AS A MULCHER (optional accessory)

Hold the tool firmly, tilting the mulcher tubes (5 - 10cm) and use a sweeping action to collect light debris. The debris will flow into the bag. Items such as small leaves and twigs will be mulched as they pass through the fan housing. For longer bag life and increased performance, empty the bag often.

CLEARING A BLOCKED TUBE / IMPELLER

WARNING:

• To avoid serious personal injury, be sure the unit is OFF and unplugged before clearing the impeller.

WARNING:

• To avoid serious personal injury, always wear gloves to protect yourself from the impeller blades or other sharp objects.
• Slide the Power/Speed slide switch to the OFF position, and wait until the unit comes to a complete stop.
• Unplug the unit.
• Remove the blower tube or mulcher tubes and the bag.
• Carefully remove material blocking the tube or impeller. Inspect the blades to ensure no damage has occurred. Rotate the impeller blades by hand to ensure the blockage is completely cleared.
• Reinstall the blower tube or mulcher tubes and the bag.
• Plug the unit back into the power supply.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING:

• Never use water for cleaning your product, use only a dry cloth. Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation or cracks may result.
• Switch off and disconnect from the mains power supply before cleaning or checking your product.
  Always empty the collection bag.
• Always store the product in a dry place ensuring the cable is not likely to be damaged.

CLEANING THE COLLECTION BAG

• Empty the collection bag after each use to avoid deterioration and obstruction of the air flow which will reduce the performance of the unit.
• Clean the collection bag as needed. With eye protection on, turn the dust bag inside out after initial emptying and vigorously shake out the dust and debris.

DISPOSAL

Waste electrical products should not be disposed of together with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your local authority or retailer for recycling advice.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE INFORMATION

Prior to cleaning or any maintenance, always ensure the power plug has been removed from the electric power supply. When you have finished using the tool, always check to make sure the product is clean and free of dirt and debris. Do not use solvents to clean the tool.

• Store the tool in a dry place, and out of reach of children.

If the supply cord needs replacing, the task must be carried out by an authorised service centre in order to avoid a safety hazard.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Dolmar service center in order to avoid a hazard.
