Frequently Asked Questions - RolloDrive 35 Schellenberg

How to install the RolloDrive 35 motor?

Follow the installation steps in the manual: secure the winding wheel, insert the belt, then connect the power supply unit. Make sure the belt is perfectly vertical in the drive. Before any intervention, disconnect the power supply.

How to adjust the end positions (upper and lower limits)?

Use the Up and Down buttons to bring the shutter to the desired position, then press the Set button to memorize. The steps are detailed in section C of the manual.

What to do if the shutter does not stop at the correct position?

Perform a modification/correction of the end positions (section D). If the problem persists, reset to factory settings (section H).

The LED light is flashing, what does it mean?

A flashing LED indicates a waiting state or an error depending on the context. Refer to the LED status table in the manual (Clock button).

Can I use this motor outdoors?

No, the motor is rated IP20 and must only be used in dry indoor areas. Outdoor use exposes to risk of short circuit or electric shock.

How to switch to automatic mode with timer?

First set the desired opening and closing times (section F), then switch to automatic mode via the Clock button (section G).

Does the motor detect obstacles?

Yes, the motor is equipped with an obstacle detection function (section I). If an obstacle is encountered, the movement stops and briefly reverses direction.

What is the standby power of the RolloDrive 35?

Standby power is less than 0.7 W.

How to replace the shutter belt?

Disconnect the power, open the housing, unlock the winding wheel, remove the old belt and insert the new one. Respect the indicated dimensions (width 15 mm, max length 5.5 m for thickness 1.0 mm).

• The provisions of the local electric utility company as well as all applicable standards and regulations for electrical installations must be complied with.
  The product may only be used in dry rooms (IP20).
• The product and the packaging are not toys. Keep children away from it, since there is a risk of injury or suffocation.
• Do not open the product, risk of injury.
• The mains power outlet and the power supply unit must be easily accessible at all times.

INTENDED USE

• The product is exclusively designed for controlling shutter systems.
• The roller shutter system and its parts must be in a perfect condition. Defects in the system or its parts must be repaired before installing the product.
• An easily accessible 230 V AC / 50 Hz mains socket outlet must be available at the place of installation (see page 206).
• The surface where the product is to be installed must be level.
• Only use original spare parts to avoid product malfunction or defects.

• Improper running of the belt (belt guiding) may destroy the shutter belt and cause unnecessary strain on the product. Install the product such that the belt enters the shutter belt drive as vertically as possible. This will avoid unnecessary friction and wear.

• Any other or further utilization beyond the explicitly specified shall be regarded as not intended use.

• Alfred Schellenberg GmbH shall not be liable for any consequential damage, property damage and personal injury due to improper use.
• According to EN 13659, it must be ensured that the displacement requirements as per EN 12045 are met. When unrolled, the displacement at the lower edge must be at least 40mm at an upward-directed force of 150N . It must be ensured that the travel speed of the hanging must be less than 0.2m/s in the last 0.4m .

IMPROPER USE

• The use of the product for applications other than the aforementioned is not permitted.
• Using this product outdoors presents a risk of death from short circuit or electric shock.
• Never install or operate the product outdoors.
• Mechanical locks of any kind are not suitable for automated operation with this product.
