SAFETY NOTICE: Exposure to vibrations through prolonged use of petrol powered hand tools could cause blood vessel or nerve damage in the fi ngers, hands, and joints of people prone to circulation disorders or abnormal swelling. Prolonged use in cold weather has been linked to blood vessel damage in otherwise healthy people. If symptoms occur such as numbness, pain, loss of strength, change in skin color or texture, or loss of feeling in the fi ngers, hands, or joints, discontinue the use of this tool and seek medical attention. An anti vibration system does not guarantee the avoidance of these problems. Users who operate power tools on a continual and regular basis must monitor closely their physical condition and the condition of this tool. ASSEMBLY a WARNING: If received assembled, repeat all steps to ensure your unit is properly assembled and all fasteners are secure. Follow all safety information in the manual and on the unit.
- Examine parts for damage. Do not use damaged parts.
- Never use a machine that has parts missing or has been changed in relation to the specifi cation.
- It is normal for the fuel fi lter to rattle in the empty fuel tank.
- Finding fuel or oil residue on muffl er is normal due to carburetor adjustments and testing done by the manufacturer. ASSEMBLY No assembly is required. 5OPERATION a WARNING: Muffl er is very hot during and after use. Do not touch the muffl er or allow combustible material such as dry grass or fuel to do so. a WARNING: Be sure to read the fuel information in the safety rules before you begin. If you do not understand the safety rules, do not attempt to fuel your unit.
a WARNING: Remove fuel cap slowly when refueling. Never remove the fuel cap or add fuel with the engine running. Allow engine and muffl er to cool down before refueling. This engine is certifi ed to operate on unleaded petrol. Before operation, petrol must be mixed with a good quality synthetic 2-cycle air-cooled engine oil designed to be mixed at a ratio of 50:1. A 50:1 ratio is obtained by mixing 77 ml of oil with 4 litres of unleaded petrol. DO NOT USE automotive oil or boat oil. These oils will cause engine damage. When mixing fuel, follow instructions printed on oil container. Once oil is added to petrol, shake container momentarily to assure that the fuel is thoroughly mixed. Always read and follow the safety rules relating to fuel before fueling your unit. CAUTION: Never use straight petrol in your unit. This will cause permanent engine damage. FUEL REQUIREMENTS The lowest recommended octane grade is 90 (RON). IMPORTANT Use of alcohol blended fuels more than 10% alcohol can cause major engine performance and durability problems. CAUTION: Alternative fuels (not petrol) such as E-15 (15% alcohol), E-20 (20% alcohol), E-85 (85% alcohol) are NOT classifi ed as petrol and are NOT approved for use in 2-stroke petrol engines. Use of alternative fuels will cause problems such as: improper clutch engagements, overheating, vapor lock, power loss, lubrication defi ciency, deterioration of fuel lines, gaskets and internal carburetor components, etc. Alternative fuels cause high moisture absorption into the fuel/oil mixture leading to oil and fuel separation. ADDING FUEL
- Remove the fuel cap and pour mixed fuel into the fuel tank.
- Replace fuel cap tightly.
- Move at least 3 metres away from the fueling site. STARTING A COLD ENGINE (or a warm engine after running out of fuel)
