Any use of the machine in contravention with the following instructions will lead to warranty claims being rendered void. – This appliance is not intended for use by persons with limited physical, senso- ry or mental capacities or lacking expe- rience and/or skills, unless such per- sons are accompanied and supervised by a person in charge of their safety or they have received precise instructions on the use of this appliance and have understood the resulting risks. – Children must not play with this appli- ance. – Supervise children to prevent them from playing with the appliance. – Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision. – Keep packaging film away from children - risk of suffocation! – Switch the appliance off after every use and prior to every cleaning/mainte- nance procedure. – Risk of fire. Do not vacuum up any burn- ing or glowing objects. – The appliance must provide of a stable ground. – The operator must use the appliance properly. He must consider the local conditions and must pay attention to third parties, in particular children, when working with the appliance. – Check the faultless condition of the ap- pliance and the accessories before us- ing it. Otherwise, the appliance must not be used. – Never dip the machine, the cable or the plugs in water or other liquids. – It is not allowed to use the appliance in hazardous locations. If the appliance is used in hazardous areas the corre- sponding safety provisions must be ob- served. – Protect the appliance against external weather, humidity and heat sources. – If the machine falls down, first get it checked by an authorised Customer Service agent because there can be in- ternal damages that hamper the safety of the product. – Do not suck in toxic substances. – Do not use the machine to vacuum clean plaster of Paris, cement, etc. that can harden on coming into contact with water and can thus hamper the func- tioning of the machine. – Always place the machine in a horizon- tal position during operation. – Only use cleaners recommended by the manufacturer and comply with their ap- plication, disposal and warning guide- lines. 몇 Risk of electric shock – Only connect the appliance to properly earthed sockets. – The appliance may only be connected to alternating current. If the power cord is damaged, please arrange immediately for the exchange by an au- thorized customer service or a skilled electrician. – To avoid accidents due to electrical faults we recommend the use of sock- ets with a line-side current-limiting cir- cuit breaker (max. 30 mA nominal trip- ping current). – Only use a splash proof extension cable with a minimum section of 3x1 mm². – If couplings of the power cord or exten- sion cable are replace the splash pro- tection and the mechanical tightness must be ensured. Press the release and remove the tank. Note: The motor casing can only be removed if the fresh water reservoir was re- moved first. Illustration Remove the motor casing. For this, fold the carrying handle forward to un- latch the reservoir. Remove the acces- sories and swivel casters from the res- ervoir. Symbols in the operating instructions Start up Description of the Appliance Before Startup 14 EN– 8 Illustration Turn the motor casing around and at- tach the foam filter to the filter basket. Insert the filter cover and turn to lock. Install the motor casing. Pull up on the carrying handle to lock. Illustration Install the fresh water reservoir. In- sert the bottom part first and then press toward the top on the motor compart- ment to check if it is locked in. Illustration Attach the suction hose and the spray hose to the connectors on the appli- ance. Note : Press the suction hose tightly into the connector to lock it into place. Illustration Connect the spray/suction pipes and at- tach to the handle. Center the locking lever when attaching it, turn clockwise to lock. Attach the floor nozzle to the spray/suc- tion pipes and secure with locking lever. The appliance is now prepared for wet cleaning. Caution Always work with an inserted foam filter - during wet as well as dry vacuum cleaning! Caution Check the object to be cleaned prior to us- ing the appliance in an inconspicuous place for colour fastness and water resistance. Do not clean water-sensitive floor cover- ings such as wood floors (the moisture could penetrate and damage the floor). Note Warm water (max. 50°C) will increase the cleaning effect. Use the wash floor nozzle. Work without the hard surface insert. Please only use the carpet cleaner RM 519. Use the wash floor nozzle. Slide the attachment for hard surfaces onto the spray ex floor nozzle from the side. The bristles should point towards the back. Use the wash hand nozzle. Note: You can remove the water reservoir to fill it or you can fill it directly on the appli- ance. Illustration Flip the reservoir cover up. Add 100 - 200 ml (volume depends on degree of contamination) of RM 519 into the fresh water reservoir, then add tap water - do not overfill. Close the reservoir cover. Illustration For continuous spray, the spray lever can be locked; for this, activate the spray lever and pull the locking key to- ward the rear. Switch off the ap- pliance immediately, and empty the con- tainer. Switch the appliance off by pressing the switch for suction and spraying (position 0). Separate the spray/suction hose and the spray hose from the appliance. Note: Possibly remaining water can drip out, therefore you should place these into the shower or bathtub. Remove the accessories and the fresh water reservoir and unlatch the motor casing. Remove the motor casing and empty the reservoir. – Always work from the light to the shade (from the window to the door). – Always work from the cleaned to the un- cleaned surface. – Rugs with jute backing can shrink if too much water is used and can bleed col- ours. – Brush high-fiber rugs in the direction of the weave after cleaning (using a fiber brush or a scrubber). – Water-proofing the fabric using Care Tex RM 762 after the wet cleaning pre- vents a quick resoiling of the textile sur- face. – Do not step on cleaned surfaces until they have dried and do not place furni- ture on them to avoid pressure spots or rust stains. Turn on suction and spraying (position I). Spray and simultaneously suction off detergent solution in one work cycle. Switch off the spray switch and suction off the remaining cleaning solution. After cleaning the carpets, reclean them using clear, warm water and waterproof if needed. Switch on sprayer (position I). Apply detergent solution and soak for 10 to 15 minutes (suction is switched off). Clean the surface just like you would with light/normal soiling. Rinse the spray tubes in the appliance as follows: Fill the detergent container with about 1 liter of clear water. Hold the nozzle above the drain, and switch on the spraying pump until the clear water has been consumed. Empty the full reservoir (refer to chapter "Empty reservoir"). Turn off the appliance. Empty the full reservoir (refer to chapter "Empty reservoir"). Rinse the reservoir thoroughly with clear water. Separate the handle, the spray/suction hoses and the wash nozzle from each other; open locking lever to achieve this (centre position), Flush the accessories separately under running water and let air dry. Clean the foam filter under running wa- ter; let it dry before reinserting it. Leave the appliance open to let it dry. Storing the appliance. Store the ac- cessories on the appliance and store in dry rooms. Danger Turn off the appliance and remove the mains plug prior to any care and mainte- nance work.
