USER MANUAL Marble MAXI-COSI

Congratulations on your purchase. For the maximum protection and comfort of your child, it is essential that you read through the entire manual carefully and follow all instructions.

Marble complies with the latest European regulation i-Size R129/03, active from July 2013. i-Size aims at increasing children safety in car by promoting UNIVERSAL ISOFIX installation, by supporting rearward-facing travel up to minimum 15 months, by improving protection for head and neck. Marble can only be installed on the dedicated Maxi-Cosi Marble ISOFIX base. Please make sure you read the Marble ISOFIX base section of this user manual carefully.

The Marble cannot be installed by using the 3-point safety belt of your car.

SAFETY The car seat is developed for an intensive use of approximately 6 years. Marble car use

  • After installing Marble correctly on the base, make sure to position the car seat to the most rearward position on the rear vehicle seat.

Install the car seat only rearward facing in the car on a forward facing vehicle seat.

Marble and your baby

  • Make sure you can fit no more than one finger between the harness and your baby (1cm). If there is more space than 1 cm, tighten the harness belt further.
  • Make sure that the shoulder harness belts are at the correct height. The shoulder harness belts should be on or just below the baby’s shoulders.
  • Only use the baby-hugg inlay of the Marble until your baby exceeds the 60 cm length limit. Afterwards remove the baby-hugg inlay from the Marble.

Never place the car seat on an elevated surface (such as a table or chair). Using Marble

  • In order to prevent the car seat from tipping over during carrying, check if the carrying handle is locked in place in carrying position.
  • When Marble is installed on a stroller, always make sure to use approved car seat adapters and to secure Marble correctly.
  • The height of the headrest and the shoulder harness can be set simultaneously into 7 dierent positions. Pull the headrest adjustment strap and meanwhile, pull up or push down the headrest until it’s in the correct position.
  • The Marble can be put into 3 dierent reclining positions by pressing the recline adjustment button and meanwhile pulling the backrest down or up. ATTENTION: The reclining function can be used in the car until your baby is 75 cm. After that, it is forbidden to recline the Marble in the car. Care advice The cover, inlay, belt pads and sun canopy of the car seat can be removed for washing. The front baleen of the sun canopy needs to be removed before washing. The harness webbing can be cleaned by using a wet cloth. R129 i-Size This is an i-Size Enhanced Child Restraint System. It is approved according to Regulation No.129, for use in, i-Size compatible vehicle seating positions as indicated by vehicle manufacturers in the vehicle users’ manual. If in doubt, consult either the Enhanced Child Restraint System manufacturer or the retailer. Seat positions in other cars may also be suitable to accept this Enhanced Child Restraint Systems. If in doubt, consult either the Enhanced Child Restraint Systems manufacturer or the retailer.

When the car seat is installed on the front passenger seat, you must switch o the front passenger airbag if your child is sitting in a rearward facing position. SAFETY

  • All products have been carefully designed and tested for your child’s safety and comfort. Use only accessories sold or approved by our company. Using other accessories may prove to be dangerous.
  • You are personally responsible for the safety of your child at all times, please read these instructions carefully and make yourself familiar with the product before using it.
  • Always keep the instructions for future reference; there is a storage compartment specifically provided on the child seat.
  • Do not use second-hand products whose history is unknown. Some parts could be broken, torn or missing.
  • For a maximum safety and improved comfort, it is strongly recommended to take o the coat of your child.
  • For your own safety and that of your child, always put the child in the child car seat, however short your journey may be.
  • Even gentle impact on a vehicle can turn a child into a projectile.
  • Your product must be installed on the recommended base. Please refer to the manual of the base.
  • Do not make any changes to the car seat whatsoever, as this could lead to unsafe situations. Never modify the construction or the materials of the car seat and the seat belt without consulting the manufacturer.
  • This Enhanced Child Restraint Systems is eective only if the instructions for use are respected.
  • Please install your car seat only as instructed in the instruction manual. Any other kind of installation might have a negative impact on safety.
  • Never leave your child unattended.
  • Always secure your child. Ensure imperatively that the lap straps are worn low down, so that the pelvis is firmly engaged.
  • Always cover the car seat when exposed to direct sunlight in the car. Otherwise, the cover, metal and plastic parts could become too hot for your child’s skin.
  • Replace the Enhanced Child Restraint Systems (the car seat) when it has been subject to the severe forces of an accident: the safety of your child can no longer be guaranteed. ATTENTION:
  • In case a car seat base with support leg is used, the support leg should be in contact with the vehicle floor.
  • After putting the child in the car seat, ensure that any straps (such as the harness) are suciently tight by pulling the webbing and are adjusted to the child’s body. Before every use, make sure the straps (e.g. of the harness or the belt) are not damaged or twisted.
  • The rigid parts and the plastic sections of an Enhanced Child Restraint Systems device should be positioned and installed in such a way that they cannot, under normal conditions of use of the vehicle, become trapped under a moving seat or in the vehicle door.
  • Always fasten the child restraint system even when the child is not sitting in it.
  • The user must always check that any luggage and other objects likely to cause injury to the occupant of the car seat in the case of impact are properly secured.
  • Never place heavy objects on the rear parcel shelf, to avoid the danger of projectiles in the event of an accident.58
  • Do not use the Enhanced Child Restraint Systems device without the cover.
  • Do not replace the seat cover with a cover other than that recommended by the manufacturer, because it will have a direct eect on the functioning of the Enhanced Child Restraint Systems.
  • Folding seats must always be locked in place. Care advice
  • Before cleaning, check the label sewn into the fabric. You will find the wash symbols indicating the method of washing each item.
  • Keep the car seat clean. Do not use lubricants or aggressive cleaning agents.

Warranty Our 24 months warranty reflects our confidence in the high quality of our design, engineering, production and product performance. We confirm that this product was manufactured in accordance with the current European safety requirements and quality standards which are applicable to this product, and that this product is free from defects on materials and workmanship at the time of purchase. Under the conditions mentioned herein, this warranty may be invoked by consumers in the countries where this product has been sold by a subsidiary of the Dorel Group or by an authorized dealer or retailer. Our 24 months warranty covers all manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship when used in normal conditions and in accordance with our user manual for a period of 24 months from the date of the original retail purchase by the first end-user customer. To request repairs or spare parts under our warranty for defects in materials and workmanship you must present your proof of purchase, made within the 24 months preceding the service request. Our 24 months warranty does not apply to defects caused by normal wear and tear, damage caused by accidents, abusive use, negligence, fire, liquid contact or other external cause, damage which is the consequence of failing to comply with the user manual, damage caused by use with another product, damage caused by service by anyone who is not authorized by us, or if the product is stolen or if any label or identification number has been removed from the product or has been changed. Examples of normal wear and tear include fabric worn down by regular use and the natural breakdown of colors and materials due to normal aging of the product. What to do in case of defects: Should problems or defects arise, your first point of contact is the authorized dealer or retailer recognized by us. Our 24 months warranty is recognized by them(1). You must present your proof of purchase, made within the 24 months preceding the service request. It is easiest if you get your service request pre-approved by us. If you submit a valid claim under this warranty, we may request that you return your product to the authorized dealer or retailer recognized by us or that you ship the product to us in accordance with our instructions. We will pay for shipment and for return freight if all instructions are followed. Damage and/or defects neither covered by our warranty nor by the legal rights of the consumer and/or damage and/or defects with respect to products that are not covered by our warranty can be handled at a reasonable fee.
