C. INSTALLATION OF BATTERIES FOR AUTOMATIC]

ILLUMINATION (DEPENDING ON THE MODEL) ELECTRONIC IGNITION OF GAS BURNERS : + The system for automatic lighting of the gas bumers is powered by one AA (LROG) type battery. +_ The battery holder is located under the console (Fig. 10). + See fig. 11 for battery installation:

1) Unscrew the top of the lighting battery holder “A

2) Insertthe AA battery making sure the positive and negative

ends are facing the correct direction as shown (Fig. 11), then screw the top back in place. The console illumination system is powered by four AA (LRO6) type batteries. The battery holder is located at the bottom front area of the appliance (see Fig. 10). Remove the battery holder lid by sliding it sideways. Insert the batteries making sure the positive and negative ends are facing the correct direction as Shown, then replace the lid. (see Fig. 12) You can iluminate each of the control knobs on the control panel independentiy. - Select a control knob and perform the ignition action (step #3 in section H), when the bumer is lit, control knob will be iluminated. So you can tell which burer is working The control knob will remain illuminated until you set it to the STOP (0) position.

2. Flexible hose designed to be joined onto ringed tailpieces on

both the barbecue and regulator sides, held firm with collars {in accordance with standard XP D 36-110). Recommended length 1.25 metre. (Fig. 2-A) b.Flexible hose (according to standard XP D 36-112 or NF D 36-112) fited with a G 1/2 threaded nut for fixing to the barbecue and a M 20x1.5 threaded nut for fxing to the regulator, recommended length 1.25 metre. (Fig. 2-B) The barbecue has a G 1/2 threaded gas inlet connector supplied with pre-fitted NF ringed tailpiece and seal.

1. To use the appliance with the flexible hose XP D 36-110

(Fig. 2-A): Slide the flexible hose onto the ringed tailpiece on both the barbecue and regulator as far as it will go. Slide the collars behind the two first bosses on the tailpieces and tighten them until the tightening head breaks. Check for leaks following the instructions in paragraph P).

2. To use the equipment with the flexible hose XP D 36-112

or NF D 36-412, G 1/2 and M 20x1.5 nuts (Fig. 2-B): + Loosen and remove the NF ringed tailpiece to release the G 1/2 inlet connector. + Remove the seal. +_Tighten the G 1/2 threaded nut on the hose onto the barbecue inlet connector and the M20x15 threaded nut onto the regulator output connector following the instructions supplied with the flexible hose. +_ Use two wrenches to tighten the flexible hose on the gas end piece: > Use no. 10 wrench to secure the inlet connection of the appliance. > Use no. 17 wrench to close the nut on the flexible tube ofthe appliance, or when removing it + Use no. 17 wrench to fix the outlet connection of the regulator when attaching the flexible tube, or when removing it + Air fightness is to be verified following the instructions in paragraph G). Check that the flexible hose strtches out normally without twisting or pulling and does not come into contact with the hot sides of the barbecue. It should be replaced when the expiry date on the hose is passed or whenever it is damaged or develops surface cracks. = Belgium, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, , Italy, Croatia, Greece, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania, Poland, Estonia, Switzerland (depending on model): The barbecue is equipped with a circular connector. It should be used with flexible hose that is suitable for use with butane and propane gas. Hose length should not exceed 1.20 metre. It should be replaced ff it is damaged or cracked, when required by national regulations or at the end of the part fecycle. Do not pull or pierce the hose. Keep hose away from any parts of the barbecue that get hot. Check that the flexible hose stretches out normally, without twisting or pulling

Germany, Austria, Switzerland (depending on model): The barbecue should be used with flexible tubing that is suitable for use with butane and propane gas. Hose length should not exceed 1.50 metre. It should be replaced if it is damaged or cracked, when required by national regulations or atthe end of the part lfecycle. F. CHECKING FOR GAS LEAKS

+ Work outside, away from all sources of ignition. Do not smoke. . Make sure the control knobs are in the “off” (O) position. Connect the flexible tubing to the connector and barbecue as described in parte). . Fit the regulator onto the gas cylinder in accordance with it instructions.

5. Use a gas leak solution to test for leaks. Important: never

use a naked flame to check for gas leaks. PES

Bubbles in the gas leak solution indicate that there are ges leaks. The leak can be stopped by tightening any hose connection or replacing any faulty component. The barbecue must not be used until the leak is stopped.

H. IGNITION OF THE BURNERS

Open the gas cylnder valve. {Fig. 8) Push and turn the control knob counter-clockwise to the ignition position { # ). Keep the control knob pressed and the electronic ignitor will generate a burst ofsparks. When the burer is lit, turn the control knob to the full flow position( @ ). NOTE: Ifthe bumer does not ignite after about 10 seconds, wait 5 minutes and then repeat the operation. FF"

. Once the bumer is it, there are wo ways of lighting another burner: + Repeat the lighting operation described above; + Light the burer to the right or left of the first lighted bumer, then the other bumers in turn by turning the control knob to the full flow position ( @ ).

5. If the electronic ignition doesn't work, use the manual

ignition (see section 1) Models with separate ignition button : Read steps 1 to 6 before beginning with step 1 . Make sure the 2 control knobs are in the “off” (O) position. . Open the gas cylnder valve: . Press one of the 2 control knobs and turn it to the full flame ) position, then immediately press the igniter button (4) (Fig. 9 ) until you hear the click. Repeat 3 or 4 times if nécessary until the bumer is lit If the burner fails to light, turn the control knob to the “off” position (0). Wait 5 minutes before repeating the operation As soon as the bumer is li, the other bumer automatically lights when the second control knob is placed in the full

flame ( 4 @ ) position without pushing the automatic igniter button again Important: the burer fail to light after the 2nd attempt, tum the control knob to the “off” position (0) and check that the burner outlets and ventuñ tubes are not blocked

6. If the electronic ignition doesn't work, use the manual

ignition (see section 1) MANUAL IGNITION In case of non-working automatic ignition, set the control knobs on « OFF » (0). Remove grease cup. Light a match and then bring it toward the burer through the grease cup hole of he plancha. Push the control knob and tu it counterclockwise until is in the full flow position (4 @ ). Put the grease cup back in place with protective gloves, being sure to corectly position the drippings evacuation hole.

J. EXTINGUISHING THE BURNERS

Retum the control knobs to the “OFF” position (O), then close the cylinder valve.

K. REPLACING THE GAS CYLINDER

Always work in a well ventilated area and never in the presence of a flame, spark or heat source. Retum the control knobs to the “off” position (0) then close the cylnder valve. Remove the regulator, check that the sealing joint is in good condition Put the full cylinder in place, refit the regulator, taking care not to apply stress to the hose. Check for gas leaks. OPERATION When used for the first time, heat up the plancha with its bumers in full position ( @ ), for approximately 15 minutes in order to eliminate any odors resulting from the paint on the new parts. +_Itis recommended that protective gloves be wom to handle components which may be very hot. Use long handled utensils to move food which is on the grate. Before cooking, pre-heat appliance for a few minutes at the Full Flow ( 4 @ ) setting The cooking speed can be regulated via the control knobs: between the ful flow position ( 4 @_ ) and medium flow position (4 ) Important : if one or several bumers go out whilst you are using the appliance, tum the control knobs to OFF immediately {O). Wait five minutes to allow unbumed gas to escape. Only carry out the lighting steps after this time. Important : wait for the complete cooling of the appliance before moving the lid (depending on models)

M. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Never modify the appliance : any modifications may prove dangerous. + In order to maintain your appliance in perfect operating condition, it is recommended to clean it periodically (after 4 or 5 uses). IMPORTANT scratch-sponges. As itis extremely aggressive towards paint and stainless steel material, it could scratch paint/stainless steel/markings.
