4. Disconnect the charger's power cord from the receptacle.

5. Hold the charger firmly and pull out the battery.

NOTE

Be sure to pull out the battery from the charger after use, and then keep it.

Regarding electric discharge in case of new batteries, etc.

As the internal chemical substance of new batteries and batteries that have not been used for an extended period is not activated, the electric discharge might be low when using them the first and second time. This is a temporary phenomenon, and normal time required for recharging will be restored by recharging the batteries 2–3 times.

How to make the batteries perform longer.

(1) Recharge the batteries before they become completely exhausted. When you feel that the power of the tool becomes weaker, stop using the tool and recharge its battery. If you continue to use the tool and exhaust the electric current, the battery may be damaged and its life will become shorter.

(2) Avoid recharging at high temperatures. A rechargeable battery will be hot immediately after use. If such a battery is recharged immediately after use, its internal chemical substance will deteriorate, and the battery life will be shortened. Leave the battery and recharge it after it has cooled for a while.

*1 Use AC adapter / DC cord

NOTE

When used together with the batteries, the AC adapter or the DC code is the main power source and no battery power is consumed.

○ Make sure that the connection plug is inserted all the way. If incorrectly inserted, the appliance could overheat and result in damage.

○ When using a car as power source, connect while the engine is running. It can cause the battery to die.

When a car equipped with an auto start-stop function has its engine stopped, the voltage of the car's battery decreases, so the warming/cooling function of the appliance may stop. It is recommended to use the appliance with the car's auto start-stop function turned OFF.

○ When the power plug is plugged into an outlet when a battery is installed, the battery will charge whether the power switch is ON or OFF.

Power Supplied Automatic Restoration Function When this function is turned ON, if the power supply that is providing power is shut off, even if the battery isn't installed, when power is supplied again, the power of the cooler and warmer storage is automatically restored to the ON state.

- Press and hold the power switch for 3 seconds or longer.

- The power supplied lamp lights up, and then changes to blinking.

HINT

Even when using with an in-car power source, it is recommended to attach the battery.

While the engine is turned off, the power source switches to the appliance's battery and it continues cooling/warming.

When the engine is started again, the power source switches to the car's battery, and the appliance's battery starts charging at the same time.

If the Power Supplied Automatic Restoration Function is ON, when the engine restarts, the cooling/warming function automatically resumes at the same time for convenience.

*2 Turn the power ON

The temperature that was set the previous time is displayed for about 5 seconds, then the display changes to the temperature inside the compartment, and operation starts.

NOTE

Do not press the power switch repeatedly. Doing so may cause a malfunction.

After configuring settings, wait about 5 minutes before pressing it again.

*3 Select the partitioning mode

A: 1 Zone Mode

B: Left Zone Mode

C: Right Zone Mode

D: 2 Zones Mode

English

*4 Set the temperature

The temperature can be set to -18^ or -15-60^ in 5^ intervals. While the display is blinking, change the setting to the desired temperature. After 5 seconds, the display changes to show the current temperature inside the compartment, and operation starts.

NOTE

When in 2 Zones Mode, a temperature difference of more than 60^ C cannot be set.

*5 How to use partitions

NOTE

When in modes other than 1 Zone Mode, insert the 2 partitions. (Fig. 9-a) With only 1 partition inserted, the temperature adjustment function doesn't work properly. (Fig. 9-b)

○ When in 1 Zone Mode, Partition 📋 can be inserted to be used as a divider. (Fig. 9-c)

*6 Charge the battery on the cooler and warmer storage. The battery can be charged even during cooling/warming.

NOTE

When charging while operating at the same time, if the power plug is unplugged, charging is stopped, and the appliance switches to cooling/warming operation with the battery as the power source. To stop operation, remove the battery or turn OFF the power switch.

*7 Charge a USB device with the cooler and warmer storage

When charging a USB device, refer to "USB DEVICE CONNECTION PRECAUTIONS". (page 5)

NOTE

- When not charging a USB device, turn OFF the USB power switch, and disconnect the USB device from the charger. Failure to do so may cause malfunction of the USB device or shortening of the battery's life (reducing the number of times it can be charged).

○ Depending on the type of USB device, it may not be possible to charge.

○ When the battery is being used while the cooling/warming function is not being used, to prevent the USB power from being accidentally left on, it automatically turns OFF after 12 hours.

*8 Use as a DC 12 V power source

NOTE

○ Output current is a maximum of 10 A. (Maximum output is 120 W.) If the current exceeds this, the fuse and other electronic parts inside the connection adapter may fail.

To prevent the DC 12 V power source from being accidentally left on, it automatically turns off after 12 hours of not being used.

When you are not using the DC 12 V power supply, turn OFF the 12 V power supply switch and disconnect any device connected to it.

ABOUT THE PROTECTION FUNCTION

During operation, if the appliance is tilted forward, backward, left, or right at a 30^ angle or more for about 10 seconds, or at a 70^ angle or more for about 1 second, operation is automatically stopped. If operation is stopped by this function, place the appliance on a level surface.

(Fig. 14) Operation will resume automatically after about 1 minute.

Additionally, if a problem with the battery occurs, the remaining battery indicator lamp blinks as shown in Table 3 below. If that occurs, turn OFF the power, and remove the cause before starting operation.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION

WARNING

When the appliance will not be used for a long time, or when performing maintenance or storing it, turn OFF the power switch, and remove the AC adapter, DC cord for in-car use, and battery from the main body.

1. Cleaning on the outside

When the appliance is stained, wipe with a soft dry cloth or a cloth moistened with soapy water. Do not use chloric solvents, gasoline or paint thinner, for they melt plastics.

NOTE

Do not fully wash the appliance.

2. About the drain (Fig. 18)

When water has accumulated inside the compartment, remove the cap of the drain hole and pour out the water. Additionally, after use, allow the appliance to dry in the shade before storing it.

3. Cleaning the air intake (Fig. 19)

Periodically inspect the air intake and clean it with a vacuum cleaner, etc.

NOTE

If dust collects, the cooling/warming effects will be reduced.

4. Inspection of the AC adapter and DC cord for car use

Inspect to ensure there are no problems such as cord breakage or damage.

If there is a problem, consult with the dealer from which you purchased it.

5. Inspection of terminals (appliance and battery)

Check to make sure that swarf and dust have not collected on the terminals.

On occasion check prior, during and after operation.

6. About transporting the appliance (Fig. 20)

When transporting the appliance, be careful not to scrape its bottom on the floor or allow it to tip over.

NOTE

Inspect the casters to ensure there is no garbage stuck in them, and that they are not damaged.

7. Storage

Store the appliance and battery in a place in which the temperature is less than 40^ C and out of reach of children.

NOTE

Storing lithium-ion batteries.

Make sure the lithium-ion batteries have been fully charged before storing them.

Prolonged storage (3 months or more) of batteries with a low charge may result in performance deterioration, significantly reducing battery usage time or rendering the batteries incapable of holding a charge.

However, significantly reduced battery usage time may be recovered by repeatedly charging and using the batteries two to five times. If the battery usage time is extremely short despite repeated charging and use, consider the batteries dead and purchase new batteries.

CAUTION

In the operation and maintenance of power tools, the safety regulations and standards prescribed in each country must be observed.
