How to change the soldering wire?

To change the wire, use the Change wire function described in the manual. Ensure the device is cold and unplugged. Remove the old wire, insert the recommended new soldering wire, and adjust the pressure if necessary.

What operating modes are available?

The device has two modes: Normal mode (continuous soldering) and Pulse mode (pulse soldering). You can switch between them via the control panel.

What is the temperature range of the tip?

The temperature range is 100 °C to 450 °C (200 °F to 850 °F). Set the temperature according to your soldering needs.

What to do if the soldering wire does not advance?

Check possible causes: slipping drive wheel, empty wire spool, dirty tip, or jammed wire. Increase the pressure, replace the wire spool, or clean the tip.

How to clean the device?

Keep the thermal transfer surfaces of the tip and heating element clean. Clean the control panel with a suitable cloth. Always unplug the device before cleaning.

Can I use non-original tips?

No, use only original Weller spare parts to guarantee safety and performance. Non-original tips may damage the device.

What is the required supply voltage?

The device operates on a mains supply of 100-240 V ~ 50-60 Hz. Check that your network voltage matches the information on the rating plate.

How to know if the device is in normal or pulse mode?

Safety information

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction

concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Connecting the control unit incorrectly poses a risk of injury due to electric shock and can damage the device.

Carefully read the attached safety information, the safety information accompanying these operating instructions as well as the operating instructions for your control unit before putting the control unit into operation and observe the safety precautions specified therein.

If the device is faulty, active electrical conductors may be bare or the PE conductor may not be functional.

Repairs must always be referred to a Weller-trained specialist.
If the electrical tool's power supply cord is damaged, this must be replaced with a specially prefabricated power supply cord available through the customer service organisation.

The soldering tip becomes very hot during soldering work. There is a risk of burns from touching the tips. Tools may still be hot long after they have been switched off.

Always place the soldering tool in the safety rest while not in use.
Do not touch the hot soldering tips and keep them away from inflammable objects.
Wear appropriate protective clothing to protect yourself against burns. Protect your eyes by wearing eye protectors.

Starting up the device

Caution!

Please be sure to read and follow the operating instructions for your Weller Supply Unit.

Put the tool into operation as described in the chapter „Placing into operation".

Check to see if the mains voltage matches the ratings on the nameplate.

Only replace solder tips when cold

Only replace the soldering tips when they are cold. The soldering tool must be left switched off in the safety rest for at least 3 minutes until the soldering tip has cooled down. The LED status indicator must be at ,OFF".

Keep the heat transfer surfaces of the soldering tip and heating element clean. The heating element must not come into contact with soldering tin.

Clean the operator panel, if dirty, using a suitable cleaning cloth.
