Frequently Asked Questions - RangeXtender RX Laserliner

What type of battery should I use for the RangeXtender RX?

Use a standard 9 V battery (type 6LR61). Insert it into the compartment with correct polarity.

What is the maximum range of the receiver?

For the RX 30, the maximum range is 30 meters. For the RX 51 and RX 52, it reaches 50 meters under optimal conditions.

How do I activate the receiver mode on the laser?

On the RX-READY compatible line laser, use the dedicated button to activate manual receiver mode. The lines become darker as they emit high-frequency pulses.

What do the different beeps mean?

Fast beeps indicate that the laser is at the bottom of the reception zone, a continuous tone (steady sound) signals that you are at the center (reference measurement), and slow beeps indicate that the laser is at the top.

Can I use the receiver with a laser from another brand?

Only line lasers equipped with RX-READY technology are compatible. Check that your laser has this function.

How do I adjust the sensitivity of the receiver?

On the RX 30 / RX 52, use the H button to switch between near zone (green, max. 15 m) and far zone (red, max. 50 m). On the RX 51, sensitivity is adjusted with the I button. The corresponding LED indicates the active setting.

What should I do if the receiver does not detect the laser?

Check that the laser is in receiver mode, that the receiver's battery is charged, and that you are within the distance range (min. 3 m). Avoid reflective surfaces that may distort detection.

Can I use the receiver outdoors?

Yes, but the range may be reduced in direct sunlight. Use far mode and hand-held range if necessary. The operating temperature is 0°C to +50°C.

How do I attach the receiver to a rod?

Use the universal mounting bracket provided. It allows mounting on a flexi rod (ref. 080.50) or any other compatible stake.

What is the difference between the RX 30, RX 51 and RX 52 models?

The RX 30 has a range of 30 m and a single front reception field. The RX 51 and RX 52 have a range of 50 m and multiple reception fields (front, side, rear). The RX 52 additionally has a magnetized surface and a bubble level.

2 RX READY Working with the laser receiver RX

Use the laser receiver RX for levelling over longer distances or when the laser lines are no longer visible. Switch on with button F; control lamp G will light up.

Line lasers: This button switches hand receiver mode on and off.

RX 30 / RX 52: This button is used to establish the tolerance range.

RX 51: This button is used to adjust the sensitivity.

Set the line laser to hand receiver mode. The laser lines will now pulsate with high frequency, making the laser lines darker. The laser receiver can detect these pulsating laser lines up to a maximum distance of 30 m (RX 30) / 50 m (RX 51 / 52). Minimum distance from the laser device about 3 m.

Now move the receiver field (B) of the laser receiver through the laser lines upwards and downwards (horizontal laser line) and/or sideways (vertical laser line) until the centre LED lights up. Now mark the horizontal and/or vertical reference dimension.

Minimum distance from the laser device about 3 m. Pay attention that the laser lines are not reflected by reflective surfaces. Such reflections can lead to false indications.

The light intensity of the laser lines is greatest at the centre and diminishes toward the ends. This can reduce the maximum reception range of the laser receiver.

Used with levelling staff

The laser receiver RX can be fitted on measuring staffs with the universal mount. The Flexi measuring staff (Art. No. 080.50) is always recommended when measuring from floor heights. It also allows you to determine heights directly without any need for calculation.
