The handle must be fitted before using the motor hoe.
Follow the instruction manual step by step and use the figures as a guide to make assembly easy for you.
Installation (Fig. 3-7)
Attention!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled before commissioning!
- Fit the lower bars (4) as shown in Figures 3 and tighten the screws (5). (Fig. 3)
- Connect the upright (3) and the handle (1) to the lower bars (4) using the wing nut (9) and carriage bolt (8). (Fig. 5)
Laying the mains cable (Fig. 6, 7)
Fit the cable and cable guide (10) to the right lower rail (4) and (in the direction of operation) to the upright (3) by clicking them into place.
Installing the cutting roller (Fig. 11)
Push the cutting rollers (7) onto the left and right parts of the drive shaft (15) of the device. The cutting rollers (7) can be fitted on the right or left, as they are identical. Ensure that the holes in the cutting roller (7) and the holes in the drive shaft (15) are aligned. Now insert the M8 screws (14) and secure them with the M8 nuts (13). Tighten the nut (13) by hand using a spanner or ratchet with socket (tools not included in the scope of delivery).
To disassemble: Proceed in reverse order.
10. Operation
Switching the machine on/off (Fig. 8)
To prevent the motor hoe from being switched on unintentionally, the handle (1) is equipped with a release button (11) which must be pressed before the on/off switch (12) can be pressed. When the on/off switch (12) is released, the motor hoe switches off. Perform this procedure a few times to be sure that your device is working correctly. Before carrying out any repair or maintenance work on the device, make sure that the cutting roller does not turn and that the device is disconnected from the mains.
The safety distance between the housing and the user given by the handle (1) must always be maintained. Special care must be taken when working on embankments and slopes. Make sure you have a secure footing, wear shoes with non-slip, well gripping soles and long trousers. Always work across slopes. For safety reasons, slopes with an inclination of more than 15 degrees must not be machined with the motor hoe. Exercise particular caution when moving backwards and pulling the motor hoe, risk of tripping!
Advice on how to work properly
Move the motor hoe slowly and carefully forwards. Work the surfaces in straight lines. Allow them to overlap slightly to avoid leaving any streaks. Only use the device on soil that has already been loosened. It must not be used to dig over lawns.
Danger!
The cutting roller continues to rotate for a few seconds after the engine is switched off. Never try to stop the cutting roller.
If the moving cutting roller hits an object, switch off the motor hoe and wait until the cutting roller comes to a complete stop. Then check the condition of the cutting roller. If damaged, it must be replaced. Lay the device connection cable in a loop on the floor in front of the socket you are using and earth it.
Work away from the power socket or cable and ensure that the device connection cable is always outside the area being machined so that it cannot be run over by the motor hoe.
Transport and storage (Fig. 9, 10)
Disconnect the device from the mains plug before transport!
Open all four wing nuts (9) until you can fold the handles forward. Attention! Danger of crushing on the bars. The machine can now be carried by the upright (3).
This also allows the machine to be stored optimally.
