4 Intended use

The Mini Heki S FL roof light is suitable for installing in caravans.

The maximum permissible speed is 130 km/h, as noise or damage could occur depending on the vehicle design or installation position. In case of excessive noise, a spoiler (accessory) can be used.

This product is only suitable for the intended purpose and application in accordance with these instructions.

This manual provides information that is necessary for proper installation and/or operation of the product. Poor installation and/or improper operating or maintenance will result in unsatisfactory performance and a possible failure.

The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury or damage to the product resulting from:

  • Incorrect assembly or connection, including excess voltage
  • Incorrect maintenance or use of spare parts other than original spare parts provided by the manufacturer
    • Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
  • Use for purposes other than those described in this manual

5 Before installation

▶ Before installation, check the roof thickness of your vehicle. Consult the vehicle manufacturer in case of questions.
▶ When choosing the installation location, observe the following:

- Adjoining components (roof rack or attachment and reinforcing parts), cables and cabinets in the vehicle interior must not be damaged when sawing a hole.

- Sufficient space needs to be available for installing the inner and outer frames.

- Only fit the roof light on flat and parallel interior and exterior roof areas with a maximum inclination of 15^ to the horizontal.

- You may use an existing roof hole provided the roof light fits into it.

6 Installation

NOTICE! Damage hazard

If you do not have sufficient technical knowledge for installing the components in vehicles, you should have a specialist install the roof window in your vehicle.

6.1 Cutting out the hole

6.2 Using the reinforcing rails

  1. Before installation, check whether the roof hole needs reinforcing.
  2. Remove the foam according to the width of the reinforcing rail (not in scope of delivery) (A).
  3. Fit the reinforcing rails (B).

6.3 Mounting the roof light

The scope of delivery contains a mounting frame, which is suitable for roof thicknesses of 23 – 42 mm or 43 – 60 mm:

  • Roof thicknesses 23 – 42 mm: Ref. no. 9620008857
  • Roof thicknesses 43 – 60 mm: Ref. no. 9620008880

  • Measure the roof thickness W.

  • Shorten the sleeves to size H (see table).
  • Use the screws with appropriate lengths (see table).

▶ Check that the roof light has sufficient space around (approx. 1 to 2 mm) it in the roof opening.

▶ Clean the roof opening in the mounting area.

NOTICE! Damage hazard

Observe the instructions of the sealant manufacturer.

Seal the mounting frame with a flexible non-hardening sealing compound (e.g., SikaLastomer-710).

  1. Observe the direction of travel when installing.
  2. Place the outer frame in the middle of the roof opening.

  1. Install the mounting frame.
  2. Tighten the screws and re-tight them 10 minutes after installation.

▶ Fit the inner frame into the mounting frame.

  1. Push the inner frame onto the mounting frame.
  2. After installing, check the roof light works properly.
  3. Remove the protective film from the acrylic glass.

NOTE

If the protective film is exposed to sunlight for too long, it cannot be taken off without leaving a residue.

  1. If necessary, enter the new vehicle height and weight in the vehicle documents.

7 O p e r a t i o n

7.1 Opening and closing Mini Heki S FL

▶ Open and close the roof light as shown (fig. 12 to fig. 14).

NOTICE! Damage hazard due to a build-up of heat between the roller blind and the window.

In strong sunlight, only close the blackout roller blind two thirds of the way.

NOTE

The blackout roller blind and the flyscreen can be separately adjusted.

▶ Hold the recessed handle of the roller blind and pull it into the required position.

8 Cleaning and maintenance

NOTICE! Damage hazard

Do not use any sharp or hard objects for cleaning since they may damage the acrylic glass. Especially do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol. Only use cleaning agents that are approved by the manufacturer (see dometic.com).

NOTE

The roof dome clouds over in bright sunshine. It becomes clear again as soon as it cools down.

▶ Clean the roller blind with mild soap and water.

9 Troubleshooting

10 Warranty

The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact your retailer or the manufacturer's branch in your country (see dometic.com/dealer).

- A reason for the claim or description of the fault

Note that self-repair or non-professional repair can have safety consequences and might void the warranty.

11 Disposal
