BCGL115 glue gun has been designed for leisure and DIY activities in the home to join materials together including paper, card and material. This appliance is intended for consumer use only. General appliance safety warnings Warning! Using your appliance u Always take care when using the appliance. u Keep work area clean and well lit. The operating tempera- ture of this appliance is approximately 199 °C. u Keep hands away from the heated attachment and work area. Heat may be conducted through the work piece. Use clamps or pliers to hold the work piece. u The heating element will begin to heat up as soon as the appliance is switched on. To avoid injury or damage to property always assume that the appliance is hot. u Protect the work surface and mate- rials from heat damage. Heat may be conducted through the work piece. Use a heat resistant material to protect the work surface. u Glue sticks are not intended for ingestion and should not come in contact with food, etc. If swallowed, seek medical attention. Keep out of the reach of children. u Before cleaning, allow the appliance to cool. u Never attempt to force cool the appliance after use by immersing any part of it in water or any other liquid. Allow the appliance to air cool only. u Keep the appliance away from all ammable material. Be aware that this product may ignite material. Where this is a concern, test a piece of scrap material. u Never leave the appliance unat- tended. After use, allow the appliance to cool and store in a safe place out of the reach of children. u Fumes resulting from heating materials for craft activities may be hazardous. For example: Do not attempt to melt crayons or candles. u DO NOT use hot melt glue to take the place of structural fasteners. u The glue sticks used with this glue gun will begin to soften at about 60 °C. Don't use the glue on objects or materials that are subjected to heat. u Avoid accidental glue discharge. Forcing glue sticks into an unheated appliance may damage the appliance or cause hot glue to be unexpectedly expelled from nozzle when the operat- ing temperature is achieved. Glue may discharge from a heated appliance without pressure applied to the trigger (1). Use a heat resistant material to protect the work surface. u This appliance is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children. u The appliance is only to be used with the power supply unit. The ap- pliance must only be supplied at safety extra low voltage corresponding to the marking on the appliance. Safety of others u This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowl- edge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Do not crush, drop or damage the tool. Damaged tools should be returned to the service center for recycling. Storage recommendations The best storage place is one that is cool and dry, away from direct sunlight and excess heat or cold. Store the fully charged tool disconnected from the charger. Transportation Note: Integral Li-ion tools should not be put in checked baggage on airplanes and must be properly protected from short circuits if they are in carry‑on baggage. Inserting or removing the charger plug from the tool may ignite the dust or fumes. u Only charge the battery with the pro- vided charge lead and a suitable class 2 power supply. u DO NOT splash or immerse in water. u DO NOT allow water or any liquid to enter tool. u DO NOT store or use the tool in locations where the temperature may reach or exceed 104 °F (40 °C) (such as outside sheds or metal buildings in summer). For best life store tools in a cool, dry location. u Do not store the tool with the switch locked on. Never tape the switch in the ON position. u DO NOT incinerate the tool even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. The battery can explode in a re. Toxic fumes and materials are created when lithium-ion batteries are burned. u If battery contents come into contact with the skin, immediately wash area with mild soap and water. If battery liquid gets into the eye, rinse water over the open eye for 15 minutes or until irritation ceases. If medical atten- tion is needed, the battery electrolyte is composed of a mixture of liquid organic carbonates and lithium salts. u Contents of opened battery cells may cause respiratory irritation. Provide fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

Assembly Warning! To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, turn unit off and keep away from the on‑off button before making any adjustments or removing/installing attachments or accessories. An accidental start‑up can cause injury. Charging procedure (g. A) Warning! Do not use tool while it is connected to the charger. u Insert the charging plug plug (8) into the charge port (6). u Plug the charging plug into any charging port (such as on a computer)or charging socket. u The charging indicator LED (5) will ash while charging. u The charging indicator LED will change to solid when fully charged. u Battery can be left charging or charger can be disconnnected.. Important charging notes u The charger and tool may become warm to the touch while charging. This is a normal condition, and does not indicate a problem. To facilitate the cooling of the tool after use, avoid placing the charger or tool in a warm environment such as in a metal shed or an uninsulated trailer. u If the tool does not charge properly, take the tool and charger to your local service center. u You may charge a partially used battery whenever you desire with no adverse effect on the tool. Loading glue sticks (Fig. B) Warning! Keep the tool pointed away from yourself and others. Serious personal injury may result. Warning! Never remove a glue stick that has been inserted into the glue gun. Warning! Only use 7 mm glue sticks. u Insert glue sticks into the glue stick loading port 3 at the back of the glue gun. u Push the glue stick until it seats fully into the melt chamber. Do not force the glue stick. Operation Warning! To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, turn unit off and keep away from the on‑off button before making any adjustments or removing/installing attachments or accessories. An accidental start‑up can cause injury. On/Off (Fig. C) Warning! When not in use, place tool upright, on its base, on a stable surface where it will not cause a tripping or falling hazard.

ENGLISH (Original instructions)Choose a surface that will not be damaged by glue dripping from the nozzle. Allow the glue gun to cool for 30 minutes before storing. The ON/OFF button (4) is located on the base of the tool. u To turn the tool on, press and hold the top of the ON/OFF switch for approximately 1 second until heat up LED 2 starts ashing, indicating the heating element is warming up. u After approximately 30 seconds, the LED will turn solid and the illumination LED (7) will turn on to show the unit is ready to use. u If the charger indicator LED (5) starts ashing red, this indicates low battery. u To turn the tool off, press the ON/OFF switch. u The LED indicator will no longer be illuminated when the heating element is off. Safety cut off feature The unit includes a safety cut off feature. If the unit has not been moved or used within 2mins the unit will automatically turn off. Follow standard on/off procedure to turn back on. Applying glue Warning! Molten glue reaches 302ºF. Do not touch applied glue. Keep away from children. Warning! Pressing porous materials, such as fabric, immediately after application can cause glue to leak through and make contact with skin, causing injury. u After the glue gun has been ON for at least 30 seconds, you can apply glue by squeezing the trigger 1 . u To glue objects together, apply glue to one object and press the second object into the melted glue. Hold objects together for 5-10 seconds. Note: Heavy applications may require up to a minute of cooling before the glue will reach full strength. Note: Glue dispersion may be delayed longer than time claimed due to the presence of solidied glue in the unit. Proper hand position (Fig. D) Warning! To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, ALWAYS use proper hand position as shown. Warning! Hints for Optimum Use The basic instructions given below are provided as a guide to craft and DIY applications. The operator should practise the various applications on scrap materials to obtain the required effect and prevent damage to the work piece. Tips on using your glue gun u Choose the right glue stick for the appliance. Low temperature glue sticks suitable for this appliance. u Make sure that the surfaces are clean and free from dirt or oily lms before gluing. u Assemble the parts to conrm that they can be joined together in the required position before applying glue. u Make arrangements to hold the parts in position while the glue hardens. The heat from the glue may be conducted to the material. Clamps or pliers should be used to protect the operator from the heat. u Working in a cold environment will reduce the time required for the glue to harden. Warm environments will increase the time for the glue to set. u The amount of glue applied will affect the hardening time. Large heavy pools of glue will take up to fty percent longer to dry than small drops. Very thin beads will dry in as few as 10 seconds. Some experimentation with your glue gun on scrap material will help to determine the best method to use for your particular project. u Some paints and stains containing petroleum distillates can weaken the adhesive. Test before using. You may need to paint or stain before gluing. u Excess glue is not easily removed from materials when it has hardened. Removal of excess glue may be attempted by scraping, peeling, or softening the glue by applying heat e.g. with the hot tip of the appliance. Adhesive may be removed from fabric by dry cleaning. Maintenance Your BLACK+DECKER appliance has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper care and regular cleaning. u Regularly clean the appliance using a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive or solvent‑based cleaner.
