Keep all safety regulations and instructions in a safe place for future use.
This equipment can be used by children of 8 years and older and by people with limited physical, sensory or mental capacities or those with no experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have received instruction in how to use the equipment safely and understand the dangers which result from such use. Children are not allowed to play with the equipment. Unless supervised, children are not allowed to clean the equipment and carry out user-level maintenance
work.
Replacing the power cable If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or OEM after-sales service or by similarly trained personnel to prevent hazards.
a) The charging unit is not allowed to be used for non-rechargeable, normal batteries.
b) Suffi cient ventilation is required.
c) The current and voltage information on the battery pack must be the same as that on the charging unit.
d) Do not expose the charging unit to splashwater or rain.

3. Technical data
Charger
Input 220-240V~50-60Hz, 200 W
Output (normal) 18 V d.c., 3A
Output (boost) 18 V d.c., 8A
Caution!
The charging unit is allowed to be used only for the lithium-ion batteries of the Power-X-Change series!
4. Operation (Fig. 1-3)
5. Boost charging
- Pull the battery pack (a) out of the handle, pressing the pushlock button (b) as you do so.
- Check that your mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Insert the power plug of the charger (1) into the socket outlet. The green LED will then begin to flash.
- Insert the battery pack (a) into the battery charger (1).
- In section 7, "Charger indicator" you will find a table with an explanation of the LED indicator on the charger.
In boost charging mode the rechargeable battery is charged more quickly than in normal high-speed charging mode. Press the boost button (3) to switch to boost charging mode. This is indicated by the blue LED. (see point 7)
Important!
Boost charging is recommended when the battery needs to be got ready for work again quickly. If the battery is not required again quickly after use, recharge it in normal high-speed charging mode, because this mode of charging places less stress on the lithium-ion battery.
If the battery fails to charge, please check
whether there is voltage at the socket outlet
whether there is good contact at the charging contacts of the charging unit
If the battery still fails to charge, send
the charging unit
and the rechargeable battery to our customer service center.
To ensure that items are properly packaged and delivered when you send them to us, please contact our customer service or the point of sale at which the equipment was purchased.
When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless tools, always ensure that they are packed individually in plastic bags to prevent short circuits and fi res.
To ensure that the battery pack provides long service, you should take care to recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the performance of the device drops. Never allow the battery pack to become fully discharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.
Mounting the charging unit on a wall (Fig. 4)
The charging unit can also be mounted on a wall. The correct dimensions for drilling holes in the wall can be found on the back of the charging unit.
Spacing distances
≥ 10 cm from the wall (right + left)
≥ 100 cm from the ceiling
Caution!
When mounting on a wall you must use suitable screws, e.g. 3.5mm pan-head screws, in order to prevent damage to the housing and risk of falling.
5. Cleaning and maintenance
Always pull out the power plug before starting any cleaning work.
The equipment is not allowed to be stored in a damp location or where there are caustic gases. Keep it in a dry place out of the reach of children.
GB
5.1 Cleaning
Keep the surface of the equipment clean and wipe it only with a dry cloth.
5.2 Maintenance
There are no other parts inside the equipment which require maintenance. The equipment is not allowed to be taken apart. If the equipment is damaged, contact your supplier or the manufacturer.
6. Disposal and recycling
The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Defective components must be disposed of as special waste. Ask your dealer or your local council.

For EU countries only
Never place any electric power tools in your household refuse.
To comply with European Directive 2012/19/EC concerning old electric and electronic equipment and its implementation in national laws, old electric power tools have to be separated from other waste and disposed of in an environment-friendly fashion, e.g. by taking to a recycling depot.
Recycling alternative to the return request: As an alternative to returning the equipment to the manufacturer, the owner of the electrical equipment must make sure that the equipment is properly disposed of if he no longer wants to keep the equipment. The old equipment can be returned to a suitable collection point that will dispose of the equipment in accordance with the national recycling and waste disposal regulations. This does not apply to any accessories or aids without electrical components supplied with the old equipment.
Please note that batteries and lamps (e.g. light bulbs) must be removed from the tool before it is disposed of.
The reprinting or reproduction by any other means, in whole or in part, of documentation and papers accompanying products is permitted only with the express consent of the Einhell Germany AG.
