How to activate Boost mode on the charger?

Press the Boost button (mark 3 on the charger). The blue LED lights up to indicate that Boost mode is active. This mode allows faster charging, ideal if the battery needs to be immediately ready for use.

What do the different LED indicators mean?

The flashing green LED indicates that the charger is ready (no battery inserted). Green on + red off shows that the battery is fast charging. Green on + red on means battery charged. Flashing green + red off indicates slow charging (adaptation). Flashing green and red signals an error. Green on + red on + blue on corresponds to Boost mode. Refer to the complete table in point 7 of the manual.

Can I charge non-rechargeable alkaline batteries with this charger?

No, the charger is exclusively designed for rechargeable Li-Ion batteries from the Power-X-Change series. Never insert non-rechargeable batteries, as this poses a risk of fire or explosion.

What type of battery is compatible?

This charger is only compatible with Li-Ion batteries from the Power-X-Change series by Einhell. Check the voltage and type on the battery before charging.

Can I leave the battery on the charger after charging?

Yes, once charging is complete (green + red LEDs on), the charger switches to a slow maintenance charge. You can leave the battery for up to 15 additional minutes for optimal charging, but it is recommended to remove it afterwards.

How to mount the charger on the wall?

Use 3.5 mm cylindrical head screws. The mounting holes are located on the edge of the charger. Maintain a clearance of at least 10 cm from side walls and 100 cm from the ceiling for proper ventilation.

What to do if the battery does not charge?

First check that there is voltage at the power outlet and ensure the charging contacts are clean. If the problem persists, contact Einhell customer service. Do not attempt to disassemble the charger.

How to clean the charger?

Always unplug the charger before cleaning. Use a dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use water or cleaning products, and never immerse the device in water.

How to dispose of a used battery or charger?

Do not throw batteries or the charger in household waste. Deposit them at a collection point for special waste or return them to your dealer. In the European Union, comply with Directive 2012/19/EC.

What to do if the power cord is damaged?

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service department, or a qualified person to avoid any danger. Do not use the charger with a damaged cord.

Replacing the power cable If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or OEM after-sales service or by similarly trained personnel to prevent hazards.

a) The charging unit is not allowed to be used for non-rechargeable, normal batteries. b) Sufficient ventilation is required. c) The current and voltage information on the battery pack must be the same as that on the charging unit. d) Do not expose the charging unit to splashwater or rain. e) Do not throw old or damaged batteries into water or fire. Follow the environmental protection directives. f) A defective or no longer chargeable battery must be treated as special waste. Dispose of it at a special collection point. Do not dispose of it with your normal household waste or throw it into water or fire. g) Place the charging unit away from all sources of heat. h) To reduce the risk of electric shock, pull the power plug out of the socket outlet by the plug itself and not by the cable when you want to disconnect the charging unit from the power supply. i) Do not take the charging unit apart. Take it to an authorized repair center if servicing or repairs are needed. Incorrect assembly can result in an electric shock and even death or fire. j) Children must always be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the equipment.

1. Pull the battery pack (a) out of the handle, pressing the pushlock button (b) as you do so.
2. Check that your mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Insert the power plug of the charger (1) into the socket outlet. The green LED will then begin to flash.
3. Insert the battery pack (a) into the battery charger (1).
4. In section 7, "Charger indicator", you will find a table with an explanation of the LED indicator on the charger.

In boost charging mode, the rechargeable battery is charged more quickly than in normal high-speed charging mode. Press the boost button (3) to switch to boost charging mode. This is indicated by the blue LED (see point 7).

Important!

Boost charging is recommended when the battery needs to be got ready for work again quickly. If the battery is not required again quickly after use, recharge it in normal high-speed charging mode, because this mode of charging places less stress on the lithium-ion battery.

If the battery fails to charge, please check:

whether there is voltage at the socket outlet, and whether there is good contact at the charging contacts of the charging unit.

If the battery still fails to charge, send

the charging unit and the rechargeable battery to our customer service center.

To ensure that items are properly packaged and delivered when you send them to us, please contact our customer service or the point of sale at which the equipment was purchased.

When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless tools, always ensure that they are packed individually in plastic bags to prevent short circuits and fires.

To ensure that the battery pack provides long service, you should take care to recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the performance of the device drops. Never allow the battery pack to become fully discharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.

Mounting the charging unit on a wall (Fig. 4)

The charging unit can also be mounted on a wall. The correct dimensions for drilling holes in the wall can be found on the back of the charging unit.

Spacing distances

At least 10 cm from the wall (right and left), at least 100 cm from the ceiling.

Caution!

When mounting on a wall, you must use suitable screws, e.g., 3.5 mm pan-head screws, to prevent damage to the housing and the risk of falling.

Always pull out the power plug before starting any cleaning work.

The equipment must not be stored in a damp location or where there are caustic gases. Keep it in a dry place out of the reach of children.

The equipment and its accessories are made of various materials, such as metal and plastic. Defective components must be disposed of as special waste. Ask your dealer or your local council.

To comply with European Directive 2012/19/EC concerning old electric and electronic equipment and its implementation in national laws, old electric power tools have to be separated from other waste and disposed of in an environment-friendly fashion, e.g. by taking to a recycling depot.

Recycling alternative to the return request: As an alternative to returning the equipment to the manufacturer, the owner of the electrical equipment must make sure that the equipment is properly disposed of if he no longer wants to keep the equipment. The old equipment can be returned to a suitable collection point that will dispose of the equipment in accordance with the national recycling and waste disposal regulations. This does not apply to any accessories or aids without electrical components supplied with the old equipment.

1. Remove the battery (a) from the device, pressing the unlocking button (b).
2. Compare the voltage on the type plate with the mains voltage. Plug the adapter of the charging device (1) into the socket. The green LED will light up.
3. Place the battery (a) on the charging device (1). The charging device automatically indicates the charging status via the LED indicators.
4. Fast charging mode: In fast charging mode, the battery charges faster than in normal charging mode. Activate the fast charging button (3) to switch to fast charging mode. This is indicated by a flashing LED.

Note!

Fast charging mode is interrupted when the battery needs to be quickly brought back to full charge for work.

If the battery is to be used soon after use, charge it in normal charging mode, as this charging is more gentle on the battery.

In the interest of a long service life of the accumulator, it should be charged in a timely manner for regular recharging of the accumulator. This is always necessary if you notice that the device is low on power. Never fully discharge the accumulator. This leads to a defect of the accumulator!

1. Pull the battery block (a) out of the handle, press the release button (b) for this purpose.
2. Check that the mains voltage matches the voltage specified on the rating plate of the device. Insert the mains plug of the charging device (1) into the socket. The green LED lights up. 3. Connect the battery (a) to the charging device (1).

4. The charging device is equipped with a table with LED indicators for the charging device. 5. Boost charging time: The battery is charged in boost mode, see boost charging time. Press the boost charging button (3) to switch to boost charging mode. In this mode, the LED lights up red. (See also point 7)

Boost charging mode is recommended for fast charging of the battery. If the battery is not charged in boost mode, it is recommended to charge it in normal mode, as this is more gentle for Li-ion batteries.

If the battery does not charge, check

whether the socket has the correct voltage - ensure proper contact between the contacts of the charging device.

the charging device and battery
