How to change the tool on the Fein SuperCut FSC 500 QSL?
Use the QuickIN clamping lever: turn it forward to open the jaws, insert the tool in the desired orientation (12 possible positions), then close the lever. Always use the protective cover when changing to avoid cuts.
What is the speed control for?
The electronic speed control allows adjusting the oscillation frequency from 1 (low) to 6 (high). Use high speed (4-6) for sawing and sanding with small pads, and medium speed (max 4) for the large triangular pad. Scraping is done at medium to high speed.
What materials can I cut with this tool?
You can saw wood up to 78 mm thick, plastics, fiberglass reinforced plastics (GRP, CFRP) and sheet metal up to 1 mm. It also allows removing tile joints, scraping off adhesives or carpet residues, and cutting silicone or acrylic sealants.
How to achieve good adhesion of the abrasive sheet?
Press the abrasive sheet briefly and firmly onto a flat surface, then start the tool for a few seconds. This improves adhesion and prevents premature wear. If only the tip is worn, you can peel off the sheet and remount it rotated by 120°.
Is the tool protected against overload?
Yes, if the contact pressure is too high during sawing, the speed automatically reduces until stop, then increases again when the load decreases. This protects the motor and the tool.
How to reduce vibrations for optimal comfort?
Use anti-vibration gloves, take regular breaks and ensure the tool is well maintained (cleaning ventilation slots, sharp tools). The vibration class of this model is VC2 (< 7 m/s²), which is moderate.
What regular maintenance is required?
Regularly clean the ventilation slots with non-metallic tools to prevent accumulation of conductive dust. In case of intensive use on metal, blow dry compressed air inside. Use a 30 mA residual current circuit breaker.
Can I use non-Fein accessories?
It is strongly recommended to use only accessories specially designed and authorized by Fein. Use of unsuitable accessories can cause overheating, tool damage or risk of injury.
How to replace the power cord if damaged?
The damaged cable must be replaced by a specially prepared cable available from Fein after-sales service. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.
