If a correction of the 90° angle of the guide-plate to the saw blade is necessary, use the correction screw.

The declared noise emission value(s) have been measured in accordance with a standard test method of EN 62841-1 and EN 62841-3-9, and may be used for comparing one tool with another. The declared noise emission value(s) may also be used in a preliminary assessment of exposure.

The noise emissions during actual use of the power tool can differ from the declared values depending on the ways in which the tool is used especially what kind of workpiece is processed.

Identify safety measures to protect the operator that are based on an estimation of exposure in the actual conditions of use (taking account of all parts of the operating cycle such as the times when the tool is switched off and when it is running idle in addition to the trigger time).

Wear ear protectors. Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR MITRE SAWS

a) Mitre saws are intended to cut wood or wood-like products, they cannot be used with abrasive cut-off wheels for cutting ferrous material such as bars, rods, studs, etc. Abrasive dust causes moving parts such as the lower guard to jam. Sparks from abrasive cutting will burn the lower guard, the kerf insert and other plastic parts.

b) Use clamps to support the workpiece whenever possible. If supporting the workpiece by hand, you must always keep your hand at least 100mm from either side of the saw blade. Do not use this saw to cut pieces that are too small to be securely clamped or held by hand. If your hand is placed too close to the saw blade, there is an increased risk of injury from blade contact.

c) The workpiece must be stationary and clamped or held against both the fence and the table. Do not feed the workpiece into the blade or cut "freehand" in any way. Unrestrained or moving workpieces could be thrown at high speeds, causing injury.

d) Push the saw through the workpiece. Do not pull the saw through the workpiece. To make a cut, raise the saw head and pull it out over the workpiece without cutting, start the motor, press the saw head down and push the saw through the workpiece. Cutting on the pull stroke is likely to cause the saw blade to climb on top of the workpiece and violently throw the blade assembly towards the operator.

e) Never cross your hand over the intended line of cutting either in front or behind the saw blade. Supporting the workpiece "cross handed" i.e. holding the workpiece to the right of the saw blade with your left hand or vice versa is very dangerous.

f) Do not reach behind the fence with either hand closer than 100 mm from either side of the saw blade, to remove wood scraps, or for any other reason while the blade is spinning. The proximity of the spinning saw blade to your hand may not be obvious and you may be seriously injured.

g) Inspect your workpiece before cutting. If the workpiece is bowed or warped, clamp it with the outside bowed face toward the fence. Always make certain that there is no gap between the workpiece, fence, and table along the line of the cut. Bent or warped workpieces can twist or shift and may cause binding on the spinning saw blade while cutting. There should be no nails or foreign objects in the workpiece. h) Do not use the saw until the table is clear of all tools, wood scraps, etc., except for the workpiece. Small debris or loose pieces of wood or other objects that contact the revolving blade can be thrown with high speed. i) Cut only one workpiece at a time. Stacked multiple workpieces cannot be adequately clamped or braced and may bind on the blade or shift during cutting. j) Ensure the miter saw is mounted or placed on a level, firm work surface before use. A level and firm work surface reduces the risk of the miter saw becoming unstable. k) Plan your work. Every time you change the bevel or miter angle setting, make sure the adjustable fence is set correctly to support the workpiece and will not interfere with the blade or the guarding system. Without turning the tool "ON" and with no workpiece on the table, move the saw blade through a complete simulated cut to assure there will be no interference or danger of cutting the fence. l) Provide adequate support such as table extensions, saw horses, etc. for a workpiece that is wider or longer than the table top. Workpieces longer or wider than the miter saw table can tip if not securely supported. If the cut-off piece or workpiece tips, it can lift the lower guard or be thrown by the spinning blade. m) Do not use another person as a substitute for a table extension or as additional support. Unstable support for the workpiece can cause the blade to bind or the workpiece to shift during the cutting operation pulling you and the helper into the spinning blade. n) The cut-off piece must not be jammed or pressed by any means against the spinning saw blade. If confined, i.e. using length stops, the cut-off piece could get wedged against the blade and thrown violently. o) Always use a clamp or a fixture designed to properly support round material such as rods or tubing. Rods have a tendency to roll while being cut, causing the blade to "bite" and pull the work with your hand into the blade. p) Let the blade reach full speed before contacting the workpiece. This will reduce the risk of the workpiece being thrown. q) If the workpiece or blade becomes jammed, turn the miter saw off. Wait for all moving parts to stop and disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack. Then work to free the jammed material. Continued sawing with a jammed workpiece could cause loss of control or damage to the miter saw. r) After finishing the cut, release the switch, hold the saw head down and wait for the blade to stop before removing the cut-off piece. Reaching with your hand near the coasting blade is dangerous.

WOOD CUTTING BLADE SAFETY WARNINGS

s) Hold the handle firmly when making an incomplete cut or when releasing the switch before the saw head is completely in the down position. The braking action of the saw may cause the saw head to be suddenly pulled downward, causing a risk of injury. Please read the manual and instructions carefully before using the saw blade and the machine. The machine must be in good condition, the spindle without deformation and vibration. Do not use the saw without the guards in position, keep guards in good working order and properly maintained. Ensure the operator is adequately trained in safety precautions, adjustment, and operation of the machine. Always wear goggles and ear protection when using the machine. It is recommended to wear gloves, sturdy non-slip shoes and apron. Before using any accessory, consult the instruction manual. The improper use of an accessory can cause damage and increase the potential for injury. Use only blades specified in this manual, complying with EN 847-1. Observe the maximum speed marked on the saw blade. Ensure the speed marked on the saw blade is at least equal to the speed marked on the saw. Always use blades with correct size and shape of arbour holes. Blades that do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will run eccentrically, causing loss of control. Do not use blades of larger or smaller diameter other than recommended. Do not use any spacers to make the blade fit onto the spindle. Check the tips of the saw blade for damage or abnormal appearance before each use. Tips that are damaged or loose can become flying objects in use and increase the chance of personal injury. Do not use cracked or distorted saw blades. Do not use saw blades which are damaged or deformed. Scrap the saw blade if damaged, deformed, distorted or cracked; repairing is not permitted. Do not use HSS blades. Ensure the saw blade is mounted correctly, tighten the arbor nut securely before use (tightening torque approx. 12 Nm). Fastening screw and nuts shall be tightened using the appropriate spanner, etc. Extension of the spanner or tightening using hammer blows is not permitted. Make sure the blade and flanges are clean and the recessed sides of the collar are against the blade. Make sure the blade rotates in the correct direction. Before work, make a dummy cut without the motor turned on so the position of the blade, operation of the guards with respect to other machine parts and workpiece may be checked. Never leave the machine unattended. Do not apply lubricants on the blade when it is running. Never perform any cleaning or maintenance work when the machine is still running and the head is not in the rest position. Never attempt to stop a machine in motion rapidly by jamming a tool or other means against the blade; serious accidents can be caused unintentionally in this way. Disconnect the saw from the mains supply or remove battery pack before changing blades or carrying out maintenance.

The machine must be in good condition, the spindle must be undamaged and run without vibration.

Do not use the saw if the protective guards are not installed; keep the protective guards in proper condition and perform the necessary maintenance.

Make sure that the operator has received proper training in safety techniques, adjustment, and operation of the machine.

When using the saw, always wear protective glasses and hearing protection. It is recommended to wear gloves, non-slip footwear, and work clothes.

Before using auxiliary accessories, see the corresponding instructions and manuals. Incorrect use of auxiliary accessories can cause damage to equipment and increase the risk of injury.

Use only saw blades specified in this manual or conforming to standard EN 847-1.

Observe the maximum rotation speed indicated on the saw blade. Make sure that the speed indicated on the saw blade is at least equal to the speed indicated on the saw.

Always use saw blades with the correct dimensions and corresponding holes and guards.

Do not use blades with a diameter larger or smaller than recommended. Do not use any spacers to mount the blade on the spindle.

Before each use, check the saw blade teeth for damage or deviations from the shape.

Damaged or deformed teeth can break during operation and increase the risk of injury.

Do not use cracked or bent saw blades. Do not use damaged or deformed saw blades.

If the saw blade is damaged, deformed, cracked, or has broken teeth, do not use it; repair is not allowed.

Do not use any blunt blades from the quick-change stand.

Make sure that the blade is installed correctly.

Before use, tighten the nut on the arbor (tightening force approx. 12 Nm).

Tighten the fastening bolts and nuts using a suitable hex key or similar tool.

Extending the hex key for tightening by hammer blows is not allowed.

Make sure that the saw blade has a smooth surface and that the side surfaces of the body are in contact with the blade.

Make sure that the blade rotates in the correct direction.

Before working, perform a trial run with the machine disconnected to check the setup, blade position, and safety devices, taking into account other machine parts.

Never leave the machine unattended.

Do not apply lubricant to the blade while it is rotating.

Never perform cleaning or maintenance work while the machine is still running and the head is not in the off position.

Never attempt to stop a running machine by pressing tools or other objects against the blade; this can lead to accidents.

Before performing maintenance, disconnect the machine from the power supply and remove the battery.

Be careful when unpacking and packing the blade; you can easily injure yourself on the sharp teeth of the blade.

When installing the blade, always use the blade mounting device or wear protective gloves.

Store the blade in its original packaging in a dry room, protected from chemical substances that could damage the blade.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR WORK

Always secure the workpiece in a safe and reliable manner.

Make sure the machine is always in a stable position (for example, clamped to a workbench).

Use ear protection! Exposure to noise can lead to hearing loss.

Always work with the tool wearing protective goggles. When working with blades and pipe materials, it is recommended to wear gloves, as well as sturdy non-slip footwear that protects your feet in case a workpiece falls from the cutting area.

AEG PS 216 L - WARNING! - 1

WARNING Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and technical data provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

CIRCULAR SAW SAFETY WARNINGS

AEG PS 216 L - WARNING Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and technical data provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. - 1

a) Circular saws are intended for cutting wood or wood-like products; they cannot be used with abrasive wheels for cutting ferrous materials such as bars, rods, pipes, etc. Abrasive dust causes jamming of the lower guard. Sparks from abrasive cutting will burn the lower guard, the kerf insert, and other plastic parts.

b) Use clamps to support the workpiece whenever possible. If supporting the workpiece by hand, you must always keep your hand at least 100 mm from either side of the saw blade. Do not use this saw to cut pieces that are too small to be securely clamped or held by hand. If your hand is placed too close to the saw blade, there is an increased risk of injury from blade contact.

c) The workpiece must be stationary and clamped or held firmly against both the fence and the table. Do not feed the workpiece into the blade or cut "freehand" in any way. Unrestrained or moving workpieces can be thrown at high speeds, causing injury.

c) The processed workpiece must be completely immobile during the entire operation. Do not hold it against the sharp edge and do not cut it in any way. Unexpired or damaged workpieces may be ejected at high speed, causing injury.

d) Press the saw blade through the workpiece. Do not press the saw blade through the workpiece. To make a cut, lower the saw blade head onto the workpiece without cutting, start the motor, press the saw blade head down and push it through the workpiece. The blade may cause the workpiece to lift and could throw the cut piece towards the operator. e) Never place your hands near the cutting area or the saw blade. Hold the workpiece firmly, with your hands positioned on either side of the saw blade, or vice versa, as this is extremely dangerous. f) Do not place your hands closer than 100 mm from either side of the saw blade to remove wood debris or for any other reason while the blade is spinning. The proximity of the spinning blade to your hands may not be obvious and could cause serious injury. g) Secure the workpiece before cutting. If it is tilted or deformed, hold it with the tilted side facing the fence. Always check that there is space between the workpiece, the fence, and the table along the line of cut. Deformed workpieces can twist or shift and may bind on the spinning blade during cutting. There should be no nails or foreign objects in the workpiece. h) Do not use the miter saw until the workpiece is clear of all tools, wood offcuts, etc. Small offcuts or other objects in contact with the saw blade can be thrown at high speed. i) Cut only one workpiece at a time. Stacked workpieces cannot be adequately clamped or secured and may bind on the blade or shift during cutting. j) Ensure that the miter saw is mounted or placed on a stable, firm work surface before use. A level and firm work surface reduces the risk of the miter saw becoming unstable. k) Plan your work. Every time you change the bevel angle or the miter angle from 45°, ensure that the fence is adjusted correctly to support the workpiece and that it does not interfere with the blade or the fence system. Without turning on the saw and without a workpiece, move the miter saw head through a simulated cut to ensure there is no interference or risk of the fence being struck.

I) Always use the correct support for the work piece, extending it to the work piece, supporting the structure for the circular saw, etc., for work pieces that are wider or longer than the table. Work pieces that are longer or wider than the circular saw table can tip over if not securely supported. If the offcut or the work piece tips over, it can lift the lower guard or be thrown out by the rotating blade. m) Do not use another blade as a substitute for the work piece support or as an additional support. An unstable work piece support can cause the blade to jam or the work piece to shift during cutting, pulling you or your bystanders toward the blade. n) The offcut or waste piece must be free to fall or be pushed away from the rotating blade of the circular saw. If it is blocked, e.g., by a stop, the cutting tool can jam and the blade can be thrown out with force. o) Do not use clamps or a holding device that is designed to support the work piece correctly, such as a fence or a guide. The guides have a tendency to turn during cutting, causing the blade to "grab" and throw the work piece together with your hand toward the blade. p) Keep the blade at a sufficient speed before contacting the work piece. This will reduce the risk of the work piece being thrown back. q) If the work piece or the blade becomes jammed, switch off the circular saw. Wait for all moving parts to stop and disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery. Then free the jammed material. Attempting to cut with a jammed work piece can cause loss of control or damage the circular saw. r) After finishing the cut, release the button, hold the circular saw with the head tilted upward, and wait for the blade to stop before removing the offcut. Handling with your hand while the disc is still spinning is dangerous. s) Keep a firm grip with both hands until the cut is complete or when releasing the button, and ensure the circular saw is completely tilted upward. The sudden action of the circular saw could cause the head to jerk upward unexpectedly, which could lead to a risk of injury.

CIRCULAR SAW FIRST SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNINGS

The declared vibration value marked with the symbol was tested in accordance with the standardized test method EN 62841-1 and EN 62841-3-9 and may be used for comparison of one tool with another. The declared vibration value may also be used for a preliminary assessment of exposure.

The declared vibration value depends on the way the tool is used, especially on the type of workpiece being processed.

Identify safety measures to protect the operator based on an estimate of exposure under actual conditions of use (taking into account all parts of the operating cycle, such as the times when the tool is switched off and when it is running idle, in addition to the trigger time).

Use the auxiliary handle. Loss of control can cause personal injury.

AEG PS 216 L - WARNINGS - 1

Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool.

Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

AEG PS 216 L - WARNINGS - 2

a) Circular saws are intended for cutting wood and wood-based products; they cannot be used with abrasive cutting discs for cutting metal materials, such as bars, rods, tubes, and the like. Abrasive discs lead to jamming of moving parts, and the lower guard may be damaged. Sparks from cutting with an abrasive disc will cause the lower guard to break, the insert, and other plastic parts.

b) Whenever possible, secure the workpiece with clamps. If you hold the workpiece by hand, always keep your hand at a distance of at least 100 mm from both sides of the blade. Do not cut a workpiece that is too small to be safely clamped or held by hand. If your hand is too close to the blade, there is an increased risk of injury from contact with the blade. c) The workpiece must be firmly fixed with clamps or held by hand against the stop. Do not feed the workpiece toward the blade and do not perform any cutting operation "freehand". Unfixed or moving workpieces during operation at high speeds can lead to injury. d) Push the saw forward, away from yourself. Do not pull the saw toward yourself. To make a cut, lift the saw head, place it on the workpiece without cutting, switch on the saw, lower the saw head, and push the saw away from yourself. If during cutting you pull the saw toward yourself, the saw blade may climb onto the upper part of the workpiece, and due to the force of rotation, the blade may be thrown back toward the operator.

Ukrainian

e) Never put your hands on the saw blade path when cutting, or in front of or behind the blade. Do not hold the workpiece with your hands too close to the blade, as this is unsafe. f) When the saw is running, do not place your hands closer than 100 mm to either side of the blade, to avoid accidental contact with the blade or for any other reason. It is difficult to judge how close your hand is to the running blade, and you could suffer serious injury. g) Always support long or wide workpieces. If the workpiece is warped or deformed, place it with the convex side against the fence and secure it with a clamp. There should be no gap between the workpiece, the fence, and the table. Warped or deformed workpieces can twist or shift, and during cutting they may catch on the blade and be thrown. There should be no nails or foreign objects on the workpiece. h) Before using the saw, remove all tools, wood scraps, and other objects from the workpiece. The saw can eject small foreign objects at high speed, causing injury if they come into contact with the blade. i) Cut only one workpiece at a time. A stack of multiple workpieces cannot be securely clamped or held, and they may catch on the blade or shift during cutting. j) Before use, make sure the saw is properly installed and secured on a level surface. The work surface must be stable and firm to reduce the risk of vibration. k) Plan your work. Each time you change the cutting angle, check that the fence is correctly set to support the workpiece and not interfere with the saw blade or the safety system. Without turning on the tool or placing the workpiece on the table, run the blade through the intended cutting path and make sure it does not hit the fence or damage it. l) If the length or width of the workpiece exceeds the table size, use additional support, such as extension tables or stands. Without proper support, the workpiece may tip over. If the overhanging part of the workpiece tips, it could hit the lower guard or be thrown by the blade. m) Do not ask another person to hold the workpiece for you. Improper support can cause the blade to bind or the workpiece to shift during cutting, and you or a helper could be pulled into the blade.

n) It is forbidden to press the cut part with your fingers while it is being cut out, especially when it is not completely separated. If the part being cut out is clamped, for example with the help of a stop pin, it can shift the operation of the saw and may be thrown under the saw blade. o) To fix round materials, for example drills or pipes, use clamps or special fastening devices. Drills tend to rotate during cutting, through which the workpiece can be caught and pull in your hands to the saw blade. p) Before cutting the workpiece, it must be fully secured. This reduces the risk of the workpiece being thrown. q) In case of jamming of the saw or workpiece, turn off the saw. Wait for all moving parts to stop, unplug from the power outlet and/or remove the battery. Then remove the material that blocks the operation. If you continue working when the workpiece is jammed, you may lose control or damage the saw. r) After cutting, turn off the switch, lower the saw head and wait for the saw blade to stop before removing the cut part. Do not put your hands near the saw blade, as it may still be moving, which is dangerous. s) Keep your hand away when you make a full cut or when you turn off the switch, before the saw head is fully raised to its upper position. Under the influence of inertia, the saw head may suddenly move forward, which poses a risk of injury.
