General Safety Rules

Read all precautions and instructions enclosed with the cutting adapter and the power tool you are using. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all safety warnings and all instructions for future reference.

Safety Warnings for Screwdrivers with Cutting Adapter

Before any work on the screwdriver with cutting adapter (e.g. maintenance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport and storage, set the rotational direction switch to the middle position. There is danger of injury when unintentionally actuating the On/Off switch.
▶ Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
The blade guard belonging to the cutting adapter must not be defective. The blade guard is intended to protect the user against accidental contact with the blade.
▶ Do not work materials containing asbestos. Asbestos is considered carcinogenic.
▶ Pay attention to live cables when cutting. There is a risk of electric shock.
▶ While cutting, never guide your hand in front of the blade. Danger of injury.
▶ Prevent unintentional switching on. Carrying power tools with your finger on the On/Off switch can lead to accidents.
▶ Supervise children. This will ensure that children do not play with the cutting adapter or with the screwdriver with mounted cutting adapter.

Otherwise, there is a danger of operating errors and injuries.

Intended Use

In conjunction with the IXO cordless screwdriver, the cutting adapter is intended for cutting flexible, soft materials up to a thickness of 6 mm, such as carpet, PVC, cardboard, types of leather, fabrics and similar materials. The cutting adapter is only intended for private household use and must be used only in conjunction with the following power tools:

Assembly

Before any work on the screwdriver with cutting adapter (e.g. maintenance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport and storage, set the rotational direction switch to the middle position. There is danger of injury when unintentionally actuating the On/Off switch.

Attaching the Cutting Adapter (see figures A1 - A2)

• You have to pull the rubber cap 9 of the screwdriver off toward the front before mounting the cutting adapter 1.
• Then attach the cutting adapter to the screwdriver. The cutting adapter must audibly engage.

Note: You can attach the cutting adapter in 8 different positions. This enables you to achieve the optimum work position, e.g. for cutting a floor covering along a wall.

Dismounting (see figures B1-B2)

• Turn the release ring 4 in rotation direction ① and pull the cutting adapter off toward the front (②).
• Afterwards, mount the rubber cap 9 onto the screwdriver again.

Changing the Blade (see figures C1-C2)

Note: Replace the blade only when the cutting adapter is mounted on the screwdriver. This ensures that the tool spindle is locked and the blade screw can be loosened.

• Set the rotational direction switch 5 to the middle position.
• Unscrew the blade screw 7 in rotation direction ①.
• Lightly lift the blade 8 and pull it down and out.
• Attach the new blade onto the tool holder ensuring that the ground edge of the blade faces you. Pay attention that the blade engages onto the tool holder.
• Retighten the blade screw 7 in rotation direction ②.

Operation

Starting Operation

To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it.

Reversing the rotational direction

IXO (3 603 JA8 0..) (see figure D1)

- To set right rotation on the screwdriver, slide the rotational direction switch 5 all the way forward.

IXO (3 603 J81 0., 3 603 J59 3.) (see figure D2)

- To set right rotation on the screwdriver, press the rotational direction switch all the way in from the right.

Switching On and Off

• To start the cutting adapter, press the On/Off switch 6 of the screw-driver and keep it pressed.
• To switch off the cutting adapter, let go of the On/Off switch 6 of the screwdriver.

Working Advice

▶ Do not strain the machine so heavily that it comes to a standstill.

The cutting performance of the machine depends on the materials to be cut and on the charging condition of the battery.

Depending on the charge condition of the battery, excessive feed considerably reduces the performance capability.

Always keep the blade free and clean of material remainders.

The guide edge 2 may not become wedged during cutting and must be aligned parallel to the cutting surface.

Improper use of the blade will cause it to become blunt.

Thin materials, such as fabrics, can be pulled into the machine during cutting and become wedged. Therefore, do not apply too much pressure with such materials in order to achieve good cutting results. During cutting, apply sufficient tension while holding fabrics and cut slowly.

Optimum cutting results are best determined through practical testing.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning

▶ Keep the cutting adapter clean to ensure good, safe operation.

▶ Remove the cutting adapter from the screwdriver to clean it. There is danger of injury when unintentionally actuating the On/Off switch.

▶ Be careful when cleaning the blade and counterblade. The blades have sharp edges which you can injure yourself on.

While cutting, material residue can accumulate under the blade guard.

- Clean the blade guard 3 regularly with a brush.

▶ Štitnik koji pripada reznom nastavku ne smije biti neispravan. Štitnik mora osobu koja rukuje alatom zaštititi od slučajnog kontakta s nožem za rezanje.
▶ Ne obradujte materijal koji sadrži azbest. Azbest se smatra kancero-genim.
- Kod rezanja pazite na vodove pod naponom. Postoji opasnost od električnog udara.
Kod rezanja nikada ruke ne stavljajte ispred noža. Postoji opasnost od ozljeda.
- Izbjegavajte nehotično uključivanje. Nošenje električnog alata sa prstom na prekidaču za uključivanje/isključivanje može dovesti do nezgoda.
