Frequently Asked Questions - Soundcup-L HAMA

How to turn the speaker on and off?
Press and hold the function button ⏻ (1) for about 4 seconds to turn the speaker on or off. A sound is heard and the status LED flashes or turns off. The speaker automatically turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity.
How to charge the battery?
Use only a suitable charger with a USB connection. Connect the included micro USB cable to the micro USB port (3) of the speaker and to a USB charger. The status LED lights up solid red during charging. A full charge cycle takes approximately 4 to 5 hours. You can charge the speaker while it is on or off.
How to connect my smartphone via Bluetooth for the first time?
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. Turn on the speaker: the LED flashes blue. In your smartphone's Bluetooth settings, search for devices and select 'Hama Soundcup-L'. A sound confirms the connection and the LED turns solid blue. If a password is requested, enter 0000.
Why doesn't my smartphone connect automatically?
Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and that the speaker is within a 10-meter range. Make sure no audio cable is connected to the speaker. If necessary, repeat the pairing procedure described in the manual. The speaker remembers the last 8 paired devices and automatically connects to the last device used.
What is the maximum Bluetooth range?
The maximum range is 10 meters without obstacles (walls, people, etc.). Beyond that or in the presence of obstacles, the connection may be disturbed or interrupted.
Can I use the speaker with an audio cable?
Yes, connect your device (MP3 player, smartphone) to the AUX input (2) using the included 3.5 mm audio cable. Make sure the speaker is on and set your device's volume to a low level. Playback is then controlled from the connected device. Note that when the audio cable is connected, Bluetooth connections are disabled.
How to use the hands-free function?
To answer an incoming call, press the function button (1) once. To reject a call, press twice. During a call, stay close to the speaker for better conversation quality. Your phone must be connected via Bluetooth.
How to change the sound mode (indoor/outdoor)?
Press the sound mode button (8) to switch between indoor and outdoor modes. The sound mode status LED (5) lights up to indicate the active mode. This allows you to adapt the sound output to the environment.
How to clean the speaker?
Clean the speaker only with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use harsh detergents. Make sure the connector cover is closed tightly to maintain IPX4 protection.
How to recycle the speaker at the end of its life?
Do not dispose of the speaker with household waste. In accordance with European directives (2012/19/EU and 2006/66/EC), take the used device to a suitable collection point or return it to a retailer. This contributes to environmental protection.
