• This unit can be used by children aged 8  and above and by per- sons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the unit in a safe way and they understand the hazards involved.

• Do not allow children to play with the unit.

• Only allow children to carry out cleaning and user maintenance un- der supervision.

• Ensure that the unit is fused for a rated fault current of max. 30 mA by means of a fault current protection device.

• Only connect the unit if the electrical data of the unit and the power supply correspond. The unit data is to be found on the unit type plate, on the packaging or in this manual.

• Possible death or severe injury from electrocution! Before reaching into the water, disconnect all electrical units in the water from the mains.

• Do not use the unit if electrical cables or housings are damaged.

• A damaged connection cable cannot be replaced. Dispose of the unit.

• Never immerse the unit in water or other liquids. Safety information Correct electrical installation

• Electrical installations must meet the national regulations and may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

• A person is regarded as a qualified electrician if, due to his/her vocational education, knowledge and experience, he or she is capable of and authorised to judge and carry out the work commissioned to him/her. This also includes the recognition of possible hazards and the adherence to the pertinent regional and national standards, rules and regula- tions.

• For your own safety, please consult a qualified electrician.

• Extension cables and power distributors (e.g. outlet strips) must be suitable for outdoor use (splash-proof).

• Minimum safety distance between the unit and the water: 2 m.

• Protect the plug connection from moisture.

• Never carry or pull the unit by the electrical cable.

• Route cables such that they are protected from damage and do not present a tripping hazard.

• Only open the unit housing or its attendant components if this is explicitly specified in the operating instructions.

• Only carry out work on the unit that is described in this manual. If problems cannot be overcome, please contact an authorised customer service point or, if in doubt, the manufacturer.

• Only use original spare parts and accessories for the unit.

• Never carry out technical changes to the unit.

Prior to commissioning the unit, please read the instructions of use carefully and fully familiarise yourself with the unit. Ensure that all work on and with this unit is only carried out in accordance with these instructions. Adhere to the safety information for the correct and safe use of the unit. Membrane (replacement)

Intended use PondoAir Set 200/450/900, referred to as "unit", may only be used as specified in the following:

• For aeration and supplying oxygen to garden ponds.

• For use in water fountain systems and ponds.

• Operate in accordance with instructions.

• During the winter months, the unit can be used to keep the surface of the pond free of ice and prevent the pond from freezing up. The prerequisite for this is that the temperature does not exceed the permissible outdoor temperature. Installation and connection B, C, D Installing the unit

• Install the unit flood protected in a horizontal position. Ensure that the unit is installed with a safety distance of at least 2 m from the water.

• Install the unit above the level of the water, otherwise it will be damaged by water flowing back. Damage resulting from incorrect installation is not basis for a claim within the framework of the guarantee or warranty. Connect the unit

• Keep the air hose as short as possible and lay it well protected.

• Connect the aeration stone to the air hose and position the aeration stone in the pond.

• Attach the free end of the air hose to the air outlet on the unit. Commissioning/start-up Switching on: Connect the unit to the mains. The unit switches on immediately. Switching off: Disconnect the unit from the mains. Maintenance and cleaning WARNING Possible death or severe injury from hazardous electrical voltage!

• Prior to reaching into the water, isolate (switch off and disconnect) all units/devices used in the water.

• Isolate the device (disconnect from the power supply) before carrying out any work on it. Cleaning the air filter How to proceed:

1. Remove the filter holder from the top section of the housing with the aid of a screwdriver.

2. Remove and shake out the filter fleece or replace if necessary.

3. Push the filter fleece into the filter holder.

– Pay attention to the O ring as it holds the filter holder in the housing.

4. Reassemble the unit in the reverse order.

Replace membranes If the air flow rate decreases, it is necessary to replace the membranes of the aerator motor. To do this, it is necessary to remove the aerator motor.

• Never operate the unit with defective membranes.

• Always replace both membranes even when only one membrane is defective. The procedure is identical for both membranes.

• Please contact your specialist dealer if you do not wish to undertake the replacement yourself. Opening the housing

• Undo the screws on the bottom section of the housing and remove the top section of the housing from the bottom section. Removing the aerator motor How to proceed:

1. Unscrew the screws from the base of the aerator motor.

– There will be initial resistance caused by the two air outlets fastened to the housing. Replace membranes How to proceed:

1. Undo and remove the nut from the membrane clip.

2. Hinge the membrane clip to the side.

5. Close the membrane clip.

Fitting the aerator motor How to proceed:

1. Place the aerator motor into the housing.

– Ensure that the air outlets are equipped with sealing rings. – During fitting, there will be initial resistance from the two air outlets.

2. Screw the aerator motor in place.

• Place the top section of the housing onto the bottom section and screw on. – Ensure that the strain relief of the power connection cable is correctly located in the recess of the housing. Storage/overwintering When the unit is in continuous operation it can remain in place at freezing temperatures.) Otherwise store the unit in- doors in a dry room (room temperature). Disposal NOTE Do not dispose of this unit with domestic waste.

• Render the unit unusable beforehand by cutting the cables and dispose of the unit via the return system provided for this purpose. Guarantee conditions PfG grants a 2 year guarantee from the date of sale on proven material and manufacturing faults. Prerequisite for our guarantee is the presentation of the purchase receipt. Our guarantee will become null and void if the unit is misused, electrically or mechanically damaged by inappropriate use and improper repair by non-authorised workshops. Repairs are reserved for workshops authorised by PfG or by PfG itself. In the case of warranty claims, please return the defec- tive unit or part freight paid to PfG together with a description of the fault and the purchase receipt. PfG reserves the right to invoice repair costs. PfG is not liable for transport damage. Any damage must be claimed against the carrier. Further claims of whatever type, especially consequential damage, are excluded. This guarantee does not affect the final customer’s claims against the dealer.- FR -
