How to install the PondoAir Set 900?

Place the device horizontally, at least 2 m from the pond and above water level. Connect the air hose to the diffuser and to the air outlet of the pump. Plug the device into the mains: it starts immediately.

What to do if the device does not expel air or the flow is insufficient?

Check that the diffusers are not clogged (clean or replace them). Clean or replace the air filter. Ensure the flexible hose is not kinked or porous. If the problem persists, replace both membranes.

How to clean the air filter?

Disconnect the power supply. Remove the filter holder from the lower part of the housing using a screwdriver. Remove the filter element, clean it or replace it. Reinstall the filter element and the O-ring, then reassemble the device.

How to replace the membranes of the pneumatic motor?

Cut the power. Open the housing (screws on the lower part). Unscrew the pneumatic motor. Remove the nut from the membrane bracket, tilt the bracket, replace the membrane. Reassemble in reverse order. Always replace both membranes even if only one is defective.

What are the essential safety precautions?

Use a 30 mA residual current circuit breaker. Only connect if the electrical characteristics match. Never immerse the device. Before any work in the water, cut the power. Do not use if the cable or housing is damaged.

Can the PondoAir Set 900 be used in winter?

Yes, the device can serve as an anti-ice device in continuous operation, provided the permissible outdoor temperature is respected. If you do not use it in winter, store it in a dry indoor place at room temperature.

WARNING

• This unit can be used by children aged 8 and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the unit in a safe way and they understand the hazards involved.
• Do not allow children to play with the unit.
• Only allow children to carry out cleaning and user maintenance under supervision.
• Ensure that the unit is fused for a rated fault current of max. 30 mA by means of a fault current protection device.
• Only connect the unit if the electrical data of the unit and the power supply correspond. The unit data is to be found on the unit type plate, on the packaging or in this manual.
• Possible death or severe injury from electrocution! Before reaching into the water, disconnect all electrical units in the water from the mains.
• Do not use the unit if electrical cables or housings are damaged.
• A damaged connection cable cannot be replaced. Dispose of the unit.
• Never immerse the unit in water or other liquids.

Intended use

PondoAir Set 200/450/900, referred to as "unit", may only be used as specified in the following:

- For aeration and supplying oxygen to garden ponds.

- For use in water fountain systems and ponds.

- Operate in accordance with instructions.

- During the winter months, the unit can be used to keep the surface of the pond free of ice and prevent the pond from freezing up. The prerequisite for this is that the temperature does not exceed the permissible outdoor temperature.

Installing the unit

• Install the unit flood protected in a horizontal position.

Ensure that the unit is installed with a safety distance of at least 2 m from the water.

• Install the unit above the level of the water, otherwise it will be damaged by water flowing back.

Damage resulting from incorrect installation is not basis for a claim within the framework of the guarantee or warranty.

Connect the unit

- Keep the air hose as short as possible and lay it well protected.

- Connect the aeration stone to the air hose and position the aeration stone in the pond.

- Attach the free end of the air hose to the air outlet on the unit.

Commissioning/start-up

Switching on: Connect the unit to the mains. The unit switches on immediately.

Switching off: Disconnect the unit from the mains.

Maintenance and cleaning

WARNING

Possible death or severe injury from hazardous electrical voltage!

• Prior to reaching into the water, isolate (switch off and disconnect) all units/devices used in the water.
• Isolate the device (disconnect from the power supply) before carrying out any work on it.

Cleaning the air filter

How to proceed:

1. Remove the filter holder from the top section of the housing with the aid of a screwdriver.
2. Remove and shake out the filter fleece or replace if necessary.
3. Push the filter fleece into the filter holder.

– Pay attention to the O ring as it holds the filter holder in the housing.

1. Reassemble the unit in the reverse order.

Replace membranes

If the air flow rate decreases, it is necessary to replace the membranes of the aerator motor. To do this, it is necessary to remove the aerator motor.

NOTE

• Never operate the unit with defective membranes.
• Always replace both membranes even when only one membrane is defective. The procedure is identical for both membranes.
• Please contact your specialist dealer if you do not wish to undertake the replacement yourself.

Opening the housing

- Undo the screws on the bottom section of the housing and remove the top section of the housing from the bottom section.

Removing the aerator motor

How to proceed:

1. Unscrew the screws from the base of the aerator motor.
2. Slightly bend the membrane clip sideways if necessary.
3. Remove the aerator motor.
   – There will be initial resistance caused by the two air outlets fastened to the housing.

Replace membranes

How to proceed:

1. Undo and remove the nut from the membrane clip.
2. Hinge the membrane clip to the side.
3. Fit the new membrane.
4. Fit the screws.
5. Close the membrane clip.
6. Fit the nut and tighten.

Fitting the aerator motor

How to proceed:

1. Place the aerator motor into the housing.

- Ensure that the air outlets are equipped with sealing rings.

– During fitting, there will be initial resistance from the two air outlets.

1. Screw the aerator motor in place.

Closing the housing

- Place the top section of the housing onto the bottom section and screw on.

– Ensure that the strain relief of the power connection cable is correctly located in the recess of the housing.

Storage/overwintering

When the unit is in continuous operation it can remain in place at freezing temperatures.) Otherwise store the unit indoors in a dry room (room temperature).

Disposal

NOTE

Do not dispose of this unit with domestic waste.

- Render the unit unusable beforehand by cutting the cables and dispose of the unit via the return system provided for this purpose.

Guarantee conditions

PfG grants a 2 year guarantee from the date of sale on proven material and manufacturing faults. Prerequisite for our guarantee is the presentation of the purchase receipt. Our guarantee will become null and void if the unit is misused, electrically or mechanically damaged by inappropriate use and improper repair by non-authorised workshops. Repairs are reserved for workshops authorised by PfG or by PfG itself. In the case of warranty claims, please return the defective unit or part freight paid to PfG together with a description of the fault and the purchase receipt. PfG reserves the right to invoice repair costs. PfG is not liable for transport damage. Any damage must be claimed against the carrier. Further claims of whatever type, especially consequential damage, are excluded. This guarantee does not affect the final customer's claims against the dealer.
