6. Before starting the equipment
Warning! Always remove the battery pack before ma- king adjustments to the equipment.
The machine has to be set up where it can stand firmly, e.g. on a work bench, or it must be bolted to a strong base.
All covers and safety devices have to be pro- perly fitted before the machine is switched on.
It must be possible for the diamond wheel to run freely.
Before you actuate the ON/OFF switch, make sure that the diamond wheel is correctly fit- ted and that the machine’s moving parts run smoothly.
Before using the machine, check all of the parts for damage and replace any parts that are damaged. When replacing any parts or accessories, always carefully follow the inst- ructions in this manual.
For optimum performance and maximum sa- fety, keep the machine clean at all times.
While the machine is running, check the wea- ring parts and the fastenings of parts which may have become loose and check that all accessories are correctly fitted.
Notice! The tile cutting machine is desig- ned for use with water.
Check that the water level is high enough to cover the diamond part of the wheel each time before you start a cutting operation and keep checking it during cutting as well. Fill/ refill the cooling water directly into the trough. Anl_TE_TC_18_115_Li_SPK13.indb 19Anl_TE_TC_18_115_Li_SPK13.indb 19 12.08.2021 16:47:0712.08.2021 16:47:07GB
Danger! Remove the battery before carrying out any maintenance, resetting or assembly work on the tile cutting machine. Assemble the equipment as shown in Figs. 3-12.
7.1 Fitting the diamond cutting wheel
(Fig. 3,4,5) To fi t the cutting wheel, proceed as follows:
Pull the cutting wheel safety guard (7) up and out (Fig. 4).
Place the cutting wheel (14) on the inner flange and then fit the outer flange on the cut- ting wheel. Important! Check that the cutting wheel rotates in the correct direction!
Screw the nut by hand back onto the thread.
Place the ring wrench (19) on the nut and use the counterholder (20) to block the motor shaft (Fig. 5).
Screw the nut tight with the ring wrench.
Reinsert the cutting wheel safety guard and fasten the water container cover.
Unscrew the pre-fitted fastening screw (13) out of the cutting table (4).
Secure the splitter (18) on the cutting table using the fastening screw.
The splitter must be positioned in the center along an imaginary line extending behind the cutting wheel (14), so that it is not possible for the material to get jammed.
7.3 Fitting the wheel guard (Fig. 7)
Place the wheel guard (3) on the splitter (18) which is mounted on the equipment.
Insert the fastening screw (8) through the wheel guard and the splitter.
Turn the fastening button (9) onto the faste- ning screw.
7.4 Changing a worn diamond cutting wheel
(Fig. 3,4,5,9,12) To replace a worn cutting wheel, proceed as follows:
Remove the battery by pressing and holding the battery catch (22) while pulling the battery (21) out of the battery mount (24) (Fig. 9).
If necessary, screw out the water drain screw (11) in order to let the water out of the water container (Fig. 12).
Pull the cutting wheel safety guard (7) up and out (Fig. 4).
Place the ring wrench (19) on the nut (a) and use the counterholder (20) to block the motor shaft (Fig. 5).
Use the ring wrench to unscrew the nut and remove the outer flange (15).
Take out the worn cutting wheel (14) and clean the wheel flange thoroughly.
Place the new cutting wheel on the inner flange and fit the outer flange back on the cut- ting wheel. Important! Check that the cutting wheel rotates in the correct direction!
Block the motor shaft again with the counter- holder and screw the nut tight with the ring wrench (Fig. 5).
Reinsert the cutting wheel safety guard and fasten the water container cover.
8. Charging the lithium-ion battery
1. Remove the battery by pressing and holding
the battery catch (22) while pulling the battery (21) out of the battery mount (24) (Fig. 9).
2. Check that your mains voltage is the same as
that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Insert the power plug of the charger (25) into the socket outlet. The green LED will then begin to fl ash.
3. Push the battery pack onto the battery char-
ger (Fig. 10). In section 14 (Charger indicator) you will fi nd a table with an explanation of the LED indicator on the charger. If the battery pack fails to charge, check for the following:
voltage at the power socket
whether there is good contact at the charging contacts of the charging unit If the battery pack still fails to charge, send
the charger and charging adapter
and the battery pack to our customer service center. To ensure that items are properly packaged and delivered when you send them to us, please contact our customer service or the Anl_TE_TC_18_115_Li_SPK13.indb 20Anl_TE_TC_18_115_Li_SPK13.indb 20 12.08.2021 16:47:0712.08.2021 16:47:07GB
point of sale at which the equipment was purchased. When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless tools, always ensure that they are packed individually in plastic bags to prevent short circuits and fi res. To ensure that the battery pack provides long ser- vice, you should take care to recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the performance of the device drops. Never allow the battery pack to become fully di- scharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.
9.1 Filling the water container/draining the
Fill water into the water container (5) up to the “MAX” mark (Fig. 11).
Screw out the water drain screw (11) in order to let the water out of the water container (Fig. 12). Important! Keep a constant check on the wa- ter level
Open the battery compartment cover (23) and insert the battery (21) into the battery mount (24).
Press and hold the battery catch (22) in order to remove the battery again from the battery mount.
You can switch on the tile cutting machine by flipping up the switch (12).
To switch off the tile cutting machine again, you must flip down the switch.
Set the cutting width with the parallel stop (2) and secure the stop with the fastening clasps (10).
The width of the workpiece can be read off the scale (16).
Fig. 13 shows the correct position for your hands during the even cut. The feed rate must not exceed the cutting capacity of the cutting wheel. This is to make sure that no material becomes detached, as this might cause acci- dents or injuries.
Fasten the water container cover for the 22.5° miter cut in the bottom position (Fig. 14b).
Fasten the water container cover (6) in the re- quired angle position (see section 9.5 “Angle setting for miter cut”) (Fig. 14a, 14b).
Place the tile with its glazed side on the water container cover (Fig. 15).
Fig. 15 shows the correct position for your hands during the miter cut. Your left hand holds the workpiece in contact with the cutting wheel while your right hand pushes the work- piece forward. The feed rate must not exceed the cutting capacity of the cutting wheel. This is to make sure that no material becomes detached, as this might cause accidents or injuries.
Carry out a trial cut with a spare tile so that you can check the results of the cutting. Important! If the cutting wheel becomes jammed, switch off the equipment and take out the battery; only then are you to remove the workpiece.
10. Cleaning, maintenance and
ordering of spare parts Danger! Always pull out the battery pack before starting any cleaning work. Take out the rechargeable battery each time be- fore carrying out any adjustments, maintenance or repairs.
Keep all safety devices, air vents and the mo- tor housing free of dirt and dust as far as pos- sible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
We recommend that you clean the device immediately each time you have finished using it.
Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.
In case of excessive sparking, have the carbon brushes checked only by a qualifi ed electrician. Danger! The carbon brushes should not be rep laced by anyone but a qualifi ed electrician.
There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.
