How do I set up the remote for my Sony TV?

The remote is preprogrammed for about 90% of Sony TVs. If it does not work, try direct code entry: press MUTE and POWER simultaneously for 3 seconds until the LED lights up, then enter a 3-digit code (e.g., 001, 002...) from the provided list. Test the remote and repeat with other codes if necessary.

How do I use the learning function?

Place your original remote facing the Thomson remote, about 3 cm apart. Press MUTE and VOL+ simultaneously for 5 seconds until the LED lights up, then enter 980. The LED flashes twice. Press the key on the original remote, then the desired Thomson key. The LED flashes 3 times to confirm. To exit, press MUTE and VOL-.

What if some keys do not work after setup?

First check if SIMPLE mode is activated. This mode limits keys to essential functions. To disable it, press MUTE and VOL+ for 5 seconds, enter 970, then press EXIT. If the problem persists, reset the remote by pressing RETURN and 0 for 5 seconds.

How do I replace the batteries?

Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote. Insert two LR03/AAA batteries observing polarity (+/-). Close the cover. The code memory is retained when changing batteries.

How do I display the code currently used by the remote?

Press and hold MUTE, then press POWER until the LED lights up. Enter 990 (the LED flashes twice). Enter 1 for the first digit: count the number of LED flashes (e.g., 3 flashes = 3). Repeat with 2 for the second digit and 3 for the third digit. If the digit is 0, the LED does not flash.

What if the remote does not respond at all?

How do I reset the remote to factory settings?

5.5 Resetting to factory settings

6.LEARNMODE

Thisremotecontrolisequippedwitha learning function. Thus, you could learn functions of your original remoteto this remote control.

• Do not mix new and used batteries for powering the Universal Remote Control, as old batteriest end to leak and may cause powerdrain.
• Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleanserson your Universal Remote Control.
