How to pair the earbuds with my smartphone?

Make sure the earbuds are out of the case and turned on. Enable your smartphone's Bluetooth and search for devices. Select Hama Spirit Chop from the list. If a password is required, enter 0000.

What to do if the earbuds do not connect automatically?

Place the earbuds in the charging case, close the lid, wait a few seconds, then take them out again. If the problem persists, turn the earbuds off and on by pressing and holding the touch sensor for 5 seconds.

How to charge the charging case?

Connect the supplied micro-USB cable to the charging port of the case and plug the other end into a suitable USB charger. The LED indicator on the case lights up red during charging and turns green when complete.

What is the actual battery life of the earbuds?

Battery life is approximately 4 hours for music playback or calls, and approximately 150 hours on standby. Actual duration depends on volume and usage.

Can I use only one earbud at a time?

Yes, you can use a single earbud in mono mode. When you remove one earbud from the case, it connects automatically. To switch back to stereo, simply remove both.

How to make a call with the earbuds?

To answer a call, tap once on the touch sensor of an earbud. To reject, press and hold for about 1 second. To end a call, tap the sensor twice.

How to use the voice assistant?

Tap the touch sensor three times on the left or right earbud to activate Siri (iOS 5+) or Google Assistant (Android 5.0+). Make sure your smartphone is compatible and the assistant is set up.

Are the earbuds water-resistant?

No, the earbuds are not water-resistant. Avoid using them in a humid environment or exposing them to water splashes. Always store them in a dry place.

How to reset the earbuds?

To reset, place the earbuds in the charging case and close the lid. Wait 10 seconds, then take them out. This restores the default connection. If the problem persists, contact Hama customer service.

What to do if one earbud stops working?

First check that both earbuds are fully charged. Clean the charging contacts with a dry cloth. If the earbud does not turn on, press and hold the touch sensor for 5 seconds. If the problem persists, consult customer service.

The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only

Warning - rechargeable battery

• Only use suitable charging devices or USB connections to charge the product.
• Do not use defective chargers or USB ports and do not attempt to repair them.
• Do not overcharge the product or allow the battery to completely discharge.
  Avoid storing, charging and using in extreme temperatures and at extremely low atmospheric pressures (such as at high altitudes).
• Charge regularly (at least quarterly) during periods of prolonged storage.

Warning - magnets

• This product generates magnetic fields. Persons with a cardiac pacemaker should consult a doctor before using this product, as the pacemaker's proper function could be affected.
• Do not store bank or similar cards with magnetic strips near the charging box or earphones. The data on the cards could be damaged or completely deleted.

Warning - high volume

High sound pressure!
- There is a risk of hearing damage.
- To prevent any loss of hearing, avoid listening at loud volumes for prolonged periods.

Always keep the volume at a sensible level. Loud volumes, even over short periods, can cause hearing loss.
- Using this product limits your perception of ambient noise. For this reason, do not operate any vehicles or machines while using this product.

4. Switching on/off

Remove the two headphones simultaneously from the charging box. Both earphones switch on automatically and start the pairing process.

Alternative:

Press the multi-function touch sensor (4) on the left and right earphones for approx. 2-3 seconds until you hear a signal sound.

To switch them off, simply place the earphones back in charging box. Ensure that the earphones are inserted into the correct sides, using the L/R markings as a guide.

Alternative:

With the earphones switched on, hold the multi-function touch sensor (4) on the left or right earphone down for approx. 5 seconds until you hear a signal sound.

Note - Automatic switch-off of the earphones

The earphones are equipped with an automatic switch-off mechanism. If there is no connection to your device within 30 minutes, they switch off automatically.

5. Charging

Fully charge the earphones and the charging box once before using them for the first time.

1 Insert the earphones and connect the charging box

Place the earphones in the charging box. Ensure that the earphones are inserted into the correct sides, using the L/R markings as a guide.

Connect the USB charging cable included to the charging socket (7) on the charging box.

Connect the free plug on the micro-USB charging cable to a suitable USB charger. To do this, consult the operating instructions for the USB charger you are using.

2 Charging procedure for the charging box and earphones

The status LED on the charging box (2) lights up solid red during the charging process. Once the charging box is fully charged, the charging box LED (2) goes green.

The status LEDs on the earphones (3) light up solid red during the charging process. Once the earphones are fully charged, the status LEDs (3) light up green for around 30 seconds and then the status LEDs go out.

It can take up to 2.5 hours (earphones) or up to 3.5 hours (charging box) until the batteries are fully charged.

3 Battery capacity

Charging box

When battery levels are low (< 10%) , the status LED (2) flashes red.

Earphones

When battery levels are low, the status LED (3) flashes red.

The actual battery life will vary depending on how you use the device, the settings and the ambient temperatures (rechargeable batteries have a limited life).

Note

If you have not used the device for a few months, it can take up to 15 - 30 minutes until the status LED (2/3) lights up red during the charging process.

6. Bluetooth pairing

Note - Pairing

• Make sure that your Bluetooth capable device is switched on and that Bluetooth activated.
• For more information, please refer to the operating instructions of your device.

The earphones and the device should not be more than 1 metre apart. The shorter the distance, the better.

Ensure that the earphones are switched on.

Check the status of the status LED (3)

If the status LED (3) on the left earphone flashes alternately:

the earphones are searching for a Bluetooth connection.

If the status LEDs (3) are flashing and then go out:

the earphones are already paired with a Bluetooth device.

Search using your device for the earphones (only required on the first connection)

Open the Bluetooth settings on your device and wait until the list of found Bluetooth devices shows Hama Spirit Chop.

Select Hama Spirit Chop and wait until the earphones are shown as connected in your device's Bluetooth® settings. You will hear a brief signal sound.

Note - Bluetoothpassword

Some devices require a password in order to connect to another Bluetdevice.

• If your device requests a password to connect to the earphones, enter 0000.

7. Controls

7.1 Voice assistant function

Siri/ Google

Tap the multi-function touch sensor (4) on the left or right earphone three times to initiate communication with Siri or the Google Assistant.

Note - Siri

Siri is only available on suitable devices running iOS 5 (iPhone 4s or later) or higher.

Note - Google Assistant

• The Google Assistant is only available on suitable devices running Android 5.0 or higher with Google Play Services, >1.5 GB of free memory and a minimum screen resolution of 720P.
• The Google Assistant App must be available on your device and be set as the default voice assistant.

7.2 Hands-free function

It is possible to use the earphones like a hands-free facility for your device.

1 Make a call

Dial the number directly via your device to make a call.

Accept a call

Tap the multi-function touch sensor (4) on the left or right earphone once to accept an incoming call.

3 Reject a call

To reject an incoming call, tap and hold the multi-function touch sensor (4) on the left or right earphone for around 1 seconds. You will hear a brief signal sound.

4 End a call

During the call, tap the multi-function touch sensor (4) on the left or right earphone twice to end the call. You will hear a brief signal sound.

5 Last number redial

You can redial the last number you called via the voice assistant function (7.1).
