Frequently Asked Questions - CA 10.818.0 Flex

What type of battery can I charge with the Flex CA 10.8/18.0 charger?
This charger is designed exclusively for Flex Li-ion batteries, at voltages 10.8 V (models AP 10.8/...) and 18 V (models AP 18.0/...). Do not charge other types of batteries.
How do I know when charging is complete?
The screen displays the remaining time during charging. When the charge exceeds 80%, the backlight turns green and the message OK appears. Shortly after, the backlight turns off.
What should I do if the screen flashes orange slowly?
A slow flashing with orange backlight means the battery is too hot or too cold. Charging will start automatically once the battery reaches a temperature between 0 °C and 55 °C.
What should I do if the screen flashes rapidly red?
Remove the battery and reinsert it. If the red flashing persists, the battery is likely defective and must be replaced. If the fault appears with another battery, the charger is defective and must be checked by a specialized workshop.
Can I leave the charger plugged in permanently?
It is recommended to unplug the charger after each use. Do not leave the charger plugged in unattended for extended periods to avoid any risk.
What is the typical charging time?
The time varies depending on battery capacity: for example, an AP 10.8/2.5 Ah battery charges in about 40 minutes, an AP 18.0/5.0 Ah in 45 minutes.
Can I charge non-Flex batteries with this charger?
No, the charger is designed only for Flex batteries. Using other batteries may cause fire, explosion, or malfunction.
How do I clean the charger?
First unplug the charger. Use a dry cloth or brush to remove dust and dirt. Never use water or liquid cleaning products.
What to do if the cable or plug is damaged?
Do not use the charger. Have it repaired exclusively by a service center authorized by the manufacturer, using original spare parts.
How to dispose of the charger at the end of its life?
Do not throw it away with household waste. According to directive 2012/19/EU, deposit it at a collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment. Cut the power cable beforehand.
