USER MANUAL Multi 30 NILFISK

Dear Nilfi sk customer Congratulations on the purchase of your new Nilfi sk vacuum cleaner. Prior to using the appliance for the fi rst time, be sure to read this document through and keep it ready to hand. Purpose and intended use The vacuum cleaner is suitable for private use, e.g. for household, hobby workshops, car cleaning - sucking up non-hazardous dust and non-fl ammable liquids. Symbols used to mark instructions WARNING Danger that can lead to serious injuries and damage. Important warnings WARNING

  • No changes to the mechanical, electrical or thermal safety devices must be made.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or men- tal capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervi- sion or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall be supervised to make sure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  • Never spray water on the upper section of the vacuum cleaner. Danger for persons, risk or short-circuiting.
  • Never use the vacuum cleaner if the fi lter is damaged.
  • The vacuum cleaner features a blow func- tion. Do not blow the air out in the open space. Only use the blow function with a clean tube. Dust may be harmful to health. Hazardous materials WARNING Vacuuming up hazardous materials can lead to serious or even fatal injuries. The following materials must not be picked up by the vacuum cleaner:
  • fl ammable, explosive, aggressive liquids (e.g. petrol, solvents, acids, alkalis, etc.)
  • fl ammable, explosive dust (e.g. magne- sium or aluminium dust etc.) Electrical connection WARNING
  • Before using the vacuum cleaner make sure that the voltage shown on the rating plate of the vacuum cleaner corresponds to the voltage of the local mains power supply.
  • It is recommended that the vacuum cleaner should be connected via a residual current circuit breaker.
  • The vacuum cleaner must not be used if the electrical cable or plug shows any sign of damage. Regularly inspect the cable and the plug for damage. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Nilfi sk Service or an electrician to avoid danger before use of the vacuum cleaner is continued.
  • Do not handle the electrical cable or plug with wet hands.
  • Do not unplug by pulling on cable. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cable. The plug must always be removed from the socket outlet before starting any service or repair work of the machine or cable. Maintenance Always remove the electric plug from the socket be- fore carrying out maintenance work on the machine. Recycling the vacuum cleaner The packaging materials can be recycled. Please recycle the components instead of throwing them in your household rubbish. You can also leave the packaging directly at your Nilfi sk location to be properly recycled from there. As specifi ed in European Directive 2002/96/EC on old electrical and electronic appliances, used electri- cal goods must be collected separately and recycled ecologically. Contact your local authorities or your nearest dealer for further information.7 Multi Opriginal Instructions

Warranty Nilfi sk warranties apply for the duration specifi ed, calculated from the time of handover of the product to the customer. The warranty guarantees that the product is free from defects. Batteries, lamps and wearing parts are excluded from the warranty. In the event of defects arising during the duration of the warranty and of which Nilfi sk is given notice, Nilfi sk will, of their own choice, either repair the defects, replace the unit or refund the purchase price upon return of the unit. Excluded from this warranty are defects, disorders and wearing effects that can be attributed to wearing from normal use, improper handling or faulty maintenance. Opening the unit housing causes the warranty to become void. Further claims may not be made on the basis of the warranty. The statutory warranty rights of the customer remain unaffected. Warranties can be claimed upon presentation of the product and sales receipt. Manufacturer warranty claims shall be made to the manufacturer. Statutory warranty rights also remain unaffected in this case. Picking up liquids Before liquids are picked up, always remove the fi lter bag. Insert fi lter for wet operation. Check that the fl oat works properly. If foam develops or liquid emerges from the machine, stop work immediately and empty the dirt tank. Connecting electrical appliances Use the socket on the vacuum cleaner for the pur- pose defi ned in the operating instructions only. Be- fore plugging an appliance into the appliance socket:

1. Switch off the vacuum cleaner.

2. Switch off the appliance to be connected. CAU-

TION! Follow the operating instructions and safety instructions for appliances connected to the power tool socket. Always unwind the cable of the vacuum cleaner completely before use. The power consumption of the connected appliance must never exceed the value stated on the type plate of the vacuum cleaner. Powertool Auto on/Off Filter Clean (ref. illu. 3, page 4) When the suction performance drops:

1. Connect the power supply.

2. Turn the speed regulation to “max” (ref. page 7)

(depending on model).

3. Close the suction hose opening with the palm of

(ref. pos. “B” page 7). Repeat pushing 3 times. The resulting stream of air cleans the fi lter. Cable rewind function

1. Disconnect the power supply. Always clean cable

before rewind using a wet/damp cloth.

2. Rewind the cable using the cable rewind button

(ref. pos. “C” page 7). WARNING When activating the automatic cord rewind, care must be taken as the plug at the end of the cord can swing during the last part of the rewinding. It is recommended that you hold on to the plug while rewinding. Filter change (ref. illu. 4, page 4)

1. Disconnect the power supply.

2. Turn the fi lter disc counter-clockwise. Carefully re-

move the fi lter and check it for damages. Replace the fi lter if necessary and dispose the fi lter accord- ing to legal regulations. Using wet and dry fi lter, clean the fi lter by compressed air (keep proper

distance in order not to damage the fi lter with the air stream) or rinse in water. Dry fi lter before use.

3. Carefully clean the fi lter sealing areas, mount the

fi lter and tighten the fi lter clockwise. Changing fi lter bag

and close the small slider in the top of the fi lter bag. Dispose the fi lter bag in accordance with legal regulations.

3. Insert the new fi lter bag in the container and press
