GS 3,7 Li Multi Cutter About this manual Read these instructions before start-up. This is a prerequisite for safe and trouble-free operation. Please observe the safety and warning notices in this document and on the unit. This document is a permanent part of the product described and should be handed over to the cus- tomer when the unit is sold. Meaning of symbols Attention! Close adherence to these warning notices can prevent personal injury and / or material damage. Special information for better understanding and correct handling. The camera symbol refers to illustrations. Description of product A rechargeable grass and shrub cutter is described in this documentation. Intended use This devices is only intended for trimming and cutting ornamental shrubs and bushes that are not very thick. The device can be turned into a grass cutter using the supplied grass blade. Any other use is deemed as being not in accordance with its intended use. The rechargeable grass and shrub cutter cannot replace a hedge cutter and should not be used as such! Wrong use This grass and shrub cutter is not intended for use in public grounds, parks, sporting arenas or in agri- culture and forestry The device must not be used for commercial purposes. Existing safety equipment may not be taken off or by-passed; for example the safety switch may not be xed. Do not use the device when it is raining and/or on a wet lawn. Safety and protective devices Danger - risk of injury! Safety and protective devices must not be disabled! Child lock The hole (5 mm) at the handle is designed for a padlock* ( 6). Safety and protective devices must not be disabled! The user is responsible for accidents involving other persons and their property. Safety instructions for battery and charger Danger - risk of re and explosion! Do not open the device. (only when dispos- ing of the rechargeable battery) There is a danger of a short circuit. Use only original chargers from the manufacturer Do not throw the device into an open re Protect the device from heat and direct sunlight Check the housing, plug and cable for damage each time the charger is used. Do not use the device if it is damaged. Do not open the charger! Replace the charger in the event of a defect. Protect the device, battery and charger from moisture. Only charge indoors. Incorrect use can cause uid to escape from the battery. In case of contact, thoroughly rinse with water, and immediately see a doctor in case of contact with eyes. Safety instructions for operating Danger - risk of injury! Unintentional start-up can lead to severe injuries. Danger - risk of injury! The blades continue to run after the motor has been switched off! Children and persons who are not familiar with these operating instructions are not permitted to use the device Do not operate the device when under the inuence of alcohol, drugs or medication. Prior to each use, check the device and battery charger for damage and have damaged parts replaced. Take any foreign bodies out of the working area before use. Wear suitable work clothing: Protective goggles Long trousers Robust, non-slip footwear Ensure that you have a sound footing when working. Keep other persons away from dangerous areas. Keep body, body parts and clothing away from the cutter area. Only work when there is adequate daylight or articial lighting. Move the device away from the body when working. Only remove cuttings when the motor is at a standstill. Never leave the device unattended when it is ready for operation. Check, after contact with foreign bodies, for dam- age to the rechargeable grass and shrub cutter. In the event of of serious damage, take the device to a AL-KO service centre. Commissioning Charge the battery Danger - risk of re and explosion! The charging device becomes warm when charging. Do not operate the device on an easily ammable ground or in a ammable environment. The device handle can become warm during the charging process. This is normal. The battery in the device is partially charged! Fully charge the battery before using it for the rst time. Do not use the device when charging. The battery can be charged in any state of charge. Interrupting the charging process does not adversely affect the battery.EN Translation of original user instructions
1. Connect the charger using the charging point on
the rechargeable grass and shrub cutter. (
2. Connect the charger to the mains supply.
The charging process starts when the green LED remains constantly illuminated. The battery is fully charged once the LED is no longer illuminated.
The temperature range for the charging process should between 0 °C and +45 °C. Maximum charging time: 4 h
3. Disconnect the plug from the charging device and
from the device. The battery is protected from overcharging and can thus remain connected to the mains supply. Operation Turn on the device
1. Push the die kill-switch forwards. ( 2-1)
2. Press the activating switch. (
3. You can release the kill switch whilst you press
the switch. A clicking sound can be heard after you have turned the device on. This is due to the mechanics and fully normal. Turn off the device

2. Wait until the blade stops moving. The blade contin-

3. Press both unlocking buttons together to take out

Information on operation Only use if visibility is good. Only work with a sharp cutter blade. The operating time of the shrub cutter depends on the condition of the battery and the properties of the items being cut. Frequently switching the device on and off reduces the operating time. Storing the rechargeable grass and shrub cutter and charger Store the device in a place inaccessible to children and unauthorised persons. Only store the device with the blade protection attached. Do not place any other objects on the device. Store the device in a dry, frost-free location with an ambient temperature between 0 °C and +35 °C. Only store the device with the battery fully charged. Recharge the battery for approximately 2 hours after a 6-month storage period. The optimum temperature for storing the device is between 0 °C and 20 °C. Repairs Repairs must only be carried out at AL-KO service centres or authorised specialist rms. Only use original parts. Maintenance and care Danger - risk of injury! Always wear work gloves when carrying out maintenance on the cutter blade!EN 14474 168_a Danger - risk of injury! Turn off the device when carrying out mainte- nance work. The blades continue to move after the motor has been switched off. After cutting work, thoroughly clean the device with a hand brush or a cloth. Do not hose down the device with water! Water in- gress can damage the switch as well as the battery and the electric motor. Regularly check the cutter blade for damage. Replace stumps or damaged cutting blades before using it for the next time. Treat the cutting blade with oil or a lubricating spray after each use. Switch on the device briey to distrib- ute the oil better. Professional inspection is necessary: If the motor is blocked If the cutting blade is bent or damaged If the battery is damaged or drained Transport The battery has been tested according to the UN manual. This is why the battery is not subject to the national and international regulations concerning hazardous goods, whether as individual item or when tted to the device. Disposal Do not dispose of worn-out devices, batteries or rechargeable batteries in the household waste! Packaging, device and accessories are made of recycla- ble materials and are to be disposed of accordingly. The user is obligated to return the batteries and accumulators. The device can be disposed of at the dealer or at a waste disposal centre. Integrated batteries can only be removed for disposal. Removing the batteries: Discharge the device fully Take all screws in the housing Open the housing Disconnect the connections to the battery Take out the battery Recycle the battery in an environmentally-friendly manner.
