USER MANUAL Energy Flex LB 36 Li AL-KO
Read this documentation before starting up the machine. This is a precondition for safe working and flawless operation. Observe the safety warnings in this docu- mentation and on the product. This documentation is a permanent integral part of the product described and must be passed on to the new owner if the product is sold. Explanation of symbols CAUTION! Following these safety warnings care- fully can prevent personal injury and/or material damage. ADVICE Special instructions for greater ease of understanding and improved handling. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING! Wear ear defenders to prevent impair- ment of hearing. Wear suitable clothing, eye protection and gl- oves Never allow children or uninstructed persons to operate or maintain the machine. Local re- gulations may specify the minimum age of people operating the machine Do not point the machine at other people. Stop using the machine when people, es- pecially children (and also pets) are in the vicinity. Before taking the machine into operation, and following any impact, check the machine for signs of wear or damage and undertake the necessary repairs. Only use genuine spare parts and genuine accessories. Always remove the battery when the appliance is unsupervised before maintenance work before cleaning the appliance if the appliance is not going to be used for some time Refer to the separate instructions for use to find the safety instructions for the charger and the battery! Make sure that air openings are free from contamination. Keep the handles dry and clean. Remove foreign objects from the working area. Use the machine only in perfect working or- der. Always ensure stability when working. Do not leave the appliance unsupervised. If working on slopes: Never work on a smooth and slippery slope. Always make sure you are positioned se- curely. Always work across the slope, never up- ward or downward. Do not work on slopes with a more than 10° gradient! Take particular care when turning! After contact with a foreign object: Switch off the engine. Examine the device for damage. The machine must not be operated if the ope- rator is under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication. Comply with the accident prevention regula- tions. Only mow during daylight hours or with good artificial lighting.en Safety instructions 12 LB 36 Li Do not work with the power tool in a hazar- dous environment where are flammable li- quids, gases or dusts. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. Do not get the appliance wet or expose it to moisture. Keep the appliance out of reach of children and unauthorised persons. Safety notes for battery and charger CAUTION! Caution - Risk of fire and explosion! Do not open the appliance. Danger of short circuit. Do not put the appliance onto an open fire. Protect the appliance against heat and direct sunlight. Only recharge batteries in chargers that are recommended by the manufacturer. Using a charger intended for one particular type of battery with a different type of battery repres- ents a fire risk. Only use batteries in the electrical imple- ments that are intended for this purpose. Using other batteries can lead to injuries and represents the risk of fire. Keep the unused battery away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that could short-circuit the con- tacts. A short circuit between the battery con- tacts can result in burns or fire. Incorrect use can result in fluid leaking out of the battery. Avoid contact with the fluid. In case of inadvertent contact, rinse off with wa- ter. If the fluid gets into your eye, seek additio- nal medical assistance. Leaking battery fluid can lead to skin irritations or burns. Each time before using the charger, check the housing, plug and cable for damage. Do not use the charger if it is damaged. Do not open the charger! Renew the charger if it is defective. Protect the appliance, battery and charger against moisture. Only charge indoors. Only have electrical appliances repaired by qualified electricians, and only using genuine spare parts. This ensures that the appliance remains safe. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected fromthe battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs,flush with wa- ter. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally- seek medical help.Liquid ejected from the batterymay cause irritation or burns. Electrical malfunctions are only allowed to be rectified by authorised specialist workshops. TECHNICAL DATA ADVICE The specified values have been establis- hed based on a standardised test pro- cess and can be used for comparing dif- ferent electrical tools with one another. In addition, these values are suitable for estimating in advance the loads to which the user is exposed due to vibration. WARNING! The actual vibration values may differ from those specified, depending on what the electrical tool is used for. Take measures to protect yourself against vibration loads. In doing so, take account of the entire working process, i.e. also times during which the electrical tool is operating without load, or is swit- ched off. Suitable measures include regular main- tenance and care of the electrical tool and the tool attachments, keeping your hands warm, taking regular breaks and planning the working sequences effec- tively. Any use not in ac- cordance with this designated use shall be regar- ded as misuse. CAUTION! The equipment is intended for domestic use only. This tool is not intended to be used by people (including children) who have restricted phy- sical, sensory or mental capabilities; neither is it intended to be used by people lacking ex- perience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by someone who is responsible for safety, or receive instructions from this su- pervisory person in how to operate the tool. Children should be supervised in order to make sure that they do not play with the tool. Possible misuse Do not use the machine in the rain Do not use the machine as a fan. Do not use the machine in enclosed spaces. Do not use the machine for pet care. ASSEMBLY CAUTION! The machine is not allowed to be opera- ted unless it has been fully assembled. CAUTION! Do not insert the battery until the appli- ance has been completely assembled.
1. Set the guard plate in relation to the cutter
2. Make sure that the line is exposed.
3. Screw the guard plate on at the rear with the
supplied screws (2-1).
4. Place the guide wheel on the guard hood and
tighten the screws (2.2). STARTUP CAUTION! Always perform a visual check prior to start-up. CAUTION! Do not use damaged batteries. Danger of fire! CAUTION! Danger of explosion and fire! The charger heats up during charging. Do not place it on a flammable surface or in a flammable environment.en Startup 14 LB 36 Li Charging the battery For more information about charging the battery, refer to the separate instructions for the battery and the charger. Inserting the battery
1. Press the locking catch.
2. Push the battery along the guide until the con-
tact socket on the battery is firmly located on the contact plug of the appliance. Removing the battery
1. Press the lock (5-1).
2. Pull the battery out of the machine (5-2).
2. Hold the appliance with both hands. Do not
place the cutter head on the ground when do- ing this.
3. Hold the auxiliary handle in one hand and the
upper grip with your other hand.
4. Press the switch in the upper grip and hold it
pressed. The appliance runs.
5. Let the lawn trimmer run at idling speed for a
few moments. This causes the cutting line to be cut off to the correct length.
6. The appliance switches off when the switch is
released. Information on working Angle the appliance forwards slightly, and walk forwards slowly (9). Sweep the appliance to the right and left in order to cut the grass (9). Do not overload the appliance during work. After use, remove the battery and check the app- liance for damage.
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
CAUTION! Remove the battery before starting any work on the appliance. Electrical malfunctions are only allowed to be rectified by authorised specialist workshops. Do not spray the machine with water! Pene- trating water can lead to malfunctions. Do not get the appliance wet or expose it to moisture. Regularly check the appliance is in good working order. Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents. They can cause irreparable damage to the appliance. STORAGE Clean the appliance and its accessories after each use. Keep the appliance out of reach of children and unauthorised persons. Store the appliance in a dry place protected against frost. Remove the battery from the machine before putting it into storage. DISPOSAL Do not dispose of worn-out machines or spent batteries (including recharge- able batteries) in domestic waste! The packaging, machine and accessories are made from recyclable materials and must be disposed of accordingly. Dispose of batteries only in a discharged state The user is obligated to return the batteries and accumulators. These can be returned to the points of sale without charge. The period of limitation is governed by the laws of the country in which the machine was purchased.
