Frequently Asked Questions - AD 7966 ADLER

Why is my humidifier not working?
First check that the appliance is plugged in and turned on with the POWER button. Make sure the water tank is filled above the minimum level. If the water shortage indicator is lit, fill the tank. If the problem persists, refer to the troubleshooting section of the manual.
How to adjust the hygrostat?
Press the HYGROSTAT button (4B) multiple times to increase the desired humidity level in 5% increments from 40% to 90%. The appliance automatically stops when the ambient humidity reaches the set value.
How to use the aromatherapy function?
Before turning on the appliance, remove the water tank and add a few drops of essential oil into the aromatherapy box (5) located on top. Do not pour oil into the water. Replace the tank and turn on the appliance.
Why is the mist weak?
This may be due to the humidification level set to low. Press the HUMIDITY button (4F) to switch to a higher level. Also make sure the atomizer (9) is not clogged: clean it with vinegar. Also check that the tank has enough water.
How to clean the atomizer?
Unplug the appliance. Apply 5 to 10 drops of vinegar on the surface of the atomizer (9). Wait 2 to 5 minutes, then gently brush the sediment. Rinse with clean water. Perform this operation at least once a week.
Why is there a strange smell?
For a new appliance, the smell disappears after the first hours of operation. If the smell persists, the water may be dirty or stored too long: clean the water tank and fill it with fresh, clean water. Do not use stagnant water.
How to set the timer?
Press the TIMER button (4C) multiple times to select an operating duration from 1 to 12 hours, in 1-hour increments. The appliance will automatically turn off at the end of the programmed time.
What to do in case of abnormal noise?
First check the water level: noise may indicate a water shortage. Fill the tank. Make sure the appliance is placed on a flat and stable surface. If the noise persists, contact technical support.
Can I use tap water?
Yes, but it is recommended to use filtered or distilled water to reduce limescale and extend the life of the appliance. Tap water can cause limescale deposits on the atomizer. In that case, clean more frequently.
How to replace the descaling filter?
The descaling filter (10) should be replaced once a year. To change it, remove the old filter from the water basin (6) and place the new one in its place, on the atomizer. During the year, simply clean it with a cloth and dish soap.
