3. Scope of delivery

Only use the air lter for wood dust. Materials such as liquids, metal chips, metal dust, screws, glass, plas- tic or stones can cause sparks and/or damage if they come into contact with any part of the machine. The machine may only be used in the intended manner. Any use beyond this is improper. The user/operator, not the manufacturer, is responsible for damages or inju- ries of any type resulting from this. An element of the intended use is also the observance of the safety instructions, as well as the assembly in- structions and operating information in the operating manual. Persons who operate and maintain the machine must be familiar with it and must be informed about potential dangers. In addition, the applicable accident prevention regula- tions must be strictly observed.

The operating manual is intended to help the user to become familiar with the machine and take advantage of its application possibilities in accordance with the recommendations. The operating manual includes important instructions for safe, proper and economic operation of the device, for avoiding danger, for minimising repair costs and downtimes, and for increasing the reliability and ex- tending the service life of the device. In addition to the safety instructions in this operating manual, you must also observe the regulations appli- cable to the operation of the device in your country. Keep the operating manual package with the machine at all times and store it in a plastic cover to protect it from dirt and moisture. They must be read and careful- ly observed by all operating personnel before starting the work. The device may only be used by personnel who have been trained to use it and who have been instructed with respect to the associated hazards. Children may not play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children with- out supervision. Make sure that air intakes/outlets are not covered. Therefore, do not place any objects on the air outlet or in front of the air intake. Ensure that no foreign objects fall into the device through the air outlet. m ATTENTION! The device is not a substitute for adequate ventilation, regular vacuuming or the use of a suction system. If the socket used to operate the device is not con- nected properly, the device connector will become hot. Make sure that a properly connected socket is used for the device. Always use the device on a dry, stable, level and hori- zontal surface. Make sure that there is a gap of at least 50 cm behind and to the sides of the device. Do not place any objects on the device. Do not sit or stand on the device. Injuries may occur if you sit or stand on the device. Do not place the device directly beneath an air condi- tioner so that no condensation can drop onto the de- vice. Before switching the device on, check whether all lters have been inserted correctly. Only use original lters from the manufacturer which are specially suited for this device. Do not use any oth- er lter. Burning of the lter can cause irreversible damage to health and/or endanger other lives. Do not use the lter as fuel or for other similar purposes. Avoid bumping the device against solid objects (in par- ticularly the air intake and outlet). Always lift or move the device using the handles on the side of the device. Ensure that your ngers or other objects do not get in- side the air intake or outlet in order to prevent injuries or damage to the device. Do not use the device after using incense to protect against insects or in places where the air is polluted by oil residues, burning incense sticks or chemical va- pours. Do not use the device in the vicinity of gas-powered equipment, heaters or open replaces. Other general occupational health and safety-related rules and regulations must be observed. The liability of the manufacturer and resulting damages are excluded in the event of modications of the ma- chine. The machine may only be operated with original parts and original accessories from the manufacturer. The safety, operating and maintenance specications of the manufacturer, as well as the dimensions speci- ed in the technical data, must be observed. Please observe that our equipment was not designed with the intention of use for commercial or industrial purposes. We assume no guarantee if the equipment is used in commercial or industrial applications, or for equivalent work.

5. General safety information

WARNING! Read all safety information, instructions, il- lustrations and technical data for this electric tool. m ATTENTION! Ensure that no water, other liquids or ignitable cleaning agents get into the device in order to prevent a risk of electric shock and/or re. Do not clean the device with water, other liquids or (ig- nitable) cleaning agents in order to prevent a risk of electric shock and/or re. Do not spray any combustible materials such as insec- ticide or perfumes around the device. Before connecting the machine to the power supply, check whether the voltage information on the device matches the local mains voltage. If the mains cable is defective, it may only be replaced by an authorised workshop or a similarly qualied per- son in order to avoid dangers. Do not use the device if the mains plug, mains cable or the device itself is defective or damaged. Never touch the mains cable or the device with wet hands. This device can be used by children from 8 years of age and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or with a lack of experience or knowledge, if they are supervised during use or if they have received instruction on the safe use of the device and have understood the risks.www.scheppach.com

14. Do not keep batteries near re, ovens or other

sources of heat. Do not use batteries in direct sun- light or store them in vehicles in hot weather.

15. Keep unused batteries in the original packaging

and keep them away from metal objects. Do not mix unpacked batteries or toss them together! This can lead to a short-circuit of the battery and thus damage, burns or even the risk of re.

16. Remove batteries from the equipment when it will

not be used for an extended period of time, unless it is for emergencies!

17. NEVER handle batteries that have leaked without

appropriate protection. If the leaked uid comes into contact with your skin, the skin in this area should be rinsed o󰀨 under running water imme- diately. Always prevent the uid from coming into contact with the eyes and mouth. In the event of contact, please seek immediate medical attention.

18. Clean the battery contacts and corresponding

contacts in the device prior to inserting the bat- teries. Warning! This power tool generates an electromag- netic eld during operation. This eld can impair ac- tive or passive medical implants under certain condi- tions. In order to prevent the risk of serious or deadly injuries, we recommend that persons with medical implants consult with their physician and the manu- facturer of the medical implant prior to operating the power tool.

Always disconnect the device from the power supply after use and before cleaning, maintenance work or replacing the lter. Do not use the device in rooms with high temperature uctuations as these can cause condensation to form in the device interior. To avoid electronic interference, the device should be set up at least 2 metres away from other electrical de- vices that work with radio waves (e.g. televisions, radi- os and radio clocks). The device is only intended for domestic use in normal operating conditions. Do not use it in humid environments or in rooms with a high ambient temperature, e.g. bathroom, toilet or kitchen. The device does not remove carbon monoxide (CO) or radon (Rn). It cannot be used as a safety device in the event of accidents involving combustion processes and hazardous chemicals. If the device needs to be moved, rst disconnect the device from the power supply. Do not move the device by pulling the mains cable. Wash your hands after replacing the lter. Safety instructions for handling batteries

1. Always make sure that the batteries are inserted

with the correct polarity (+ and –), as indicated on the battery.

2. Do not short-circuit batteries.

3. Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

4. Do not overcharge batteries!

5. Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of dif-

ferent types or manufacturers! Replace an entire set of batteries at the same time.

6. Immediately remove used batteries from the de-

vice and dispose of them properly! Do not dispose batteries with household waste. Defective or used batteries must be recycled according to Directive 2006/66 / EC. Give back batteries and / or the de- vice has been o󰀨ered to the collective facilities. About disposal facilities you can inform by your municipal or city government.

NOTE: Fasten the device at least 2.13m above the oor. Setting up the heavy-duty air lter To ensure the device is operated properly through air circulation, make sure there is a gap of at least 50cm on both sides of the air intake and at least 10cm from the air outlet to the wall. Keep other electrical devices, such as radios and tele- visions, at least 1m from the device. Do not plug the mains plug into the same socket as one with radios, televisions or other electrical devices. This can cause the screen to icker or interference noises.

• Long-term use in the same place can make the walls dirty.

• Ensure that the air intake and outlet are not covered in order to ensure optimal air circulation and maxi- mum performance.

m Attention! Always make sure the device is fully assembled before commissioning! Switching on/o󰀨 (Fig. 4 - 5)

• Press the “ON/OFF” button on the remote control (5) or on the control panel (1) in order to switch the device on or o󰀨. Timer function (Fig. 4 - 5) The “TIME” button on the remote control (5) or on the control panel (1) controls the three di󰀨erent time set- tings:

• Press the “TIME” button once so that the device switches o󰀨 automatically after one hour. (1H lamp lights up on the control panel.)

• Press the “TIME” button twice so that the device switches o󰀨 automatically after two hours. (2H lamp lights up on the control panel.)

• Press the “TIME” button three-times so that the de- vice switches o󰀨 automatically after four hours. (4H lamp lights up on the control panel.) Speed function (Fig. 4 - 5) The “SPEED” button on the remote control (5) or on the control panel (1) controls the three di󰀨erent air speeds.

• Press the “SPEED” button once so that the device switches to the highest air speed.(HI lamp lights up on the control panel.)

• Press the “SPEED” button twice so that the device switches to the middle air speed.(MID button lights up on the control panel.) Noise and vibration m Warning: Noise can have serious e󰀨ects on your health. If the machine noise exceeds 85 dB (A), please wear suitable hearing protection.

• Open the packaging and carefully remove the de- vice.

• Remove the packaging material, as well as the pack- aging and transport safety devices (if present).

• Check whether the scope of delivery is complete.

• Check the device and accessory parts for transport damage. In the event of complaints the carrier must be informed immediately. Later claims will not be recognised.

• If possible, keep the packaging until the expiry of the warranty period.

• Familiarise yourself with the product by means of the operating instructions before using for the rst time.

• With accessories as well as wearing parts and re- placement parts use only original parts. Replace- ment parts can be obtained from your dealer.

• When ordering please provide our article number as well as type and year of manufacture for your equip- ment. m Attention! The device and the packaging material are not children’s toys! Do not let children play with plas- tic bags, lms or small parts! There is a danger of choking or su󰀨ocating!

m ATTENTION! Always make sure the device is fully assembled before commissioning! Installing the clip bolts (Fig. 2 - 3)

• Remove the transport lock screws (Fig. 2).

• Turn the nuts (4) over the entire length of the clip bolts (3).

• Screw the clip bolts (3) into the threaded holes and lock the nuts (4) against the top part of the housing (Fig. 2).

• Drill holes into the ceiling and mount the four ceiling mount clip bolts provided into the ceiling.

For single-phase AC motors, we recommend a fuse rating of C 16A or K 16A for machines with a high start- ing current (from 3000 watts)! Connection type Y If the mains connection cable of this device is dam- aged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, their service department or a similarly qualied person to avoid dangers.

Danger! Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out any cleaning work.

• Keep protective devices, air vents and the motor housing as free of dust and dirt as possible. Rub the device clean with a clean cloth or blow it o󰀨 with compressed air at low pressure.

• We recommend that you clean the device directly after every use.

• Clean the device at regular intervals using a damp cloth and a little soft soap. Do not use any cleaning products or solvents; they could attack the plastic parts of the device. Make sure that no water can penetrate the device interior. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

Store the device and its accessories in a dark, dry and frost-free place that is inaccessible to children. The op- timum storage temperature lies between 5 and 30 ˚C. Store the power tool in its original packaging. Cover the power tool to protect it from dust or moisture. Store the operating manual with the power tool.

Filter change (Fig. 6 - 7) m Attention! The lter may only be changed after un- plugging the mains plug.

• Remove the rear cover (2) by pulling it.

• Now the external lter (6) and the inner lter (7) can be removed.

• The external lter (6) can be blown out.

• The inner lter (7) can be blown out (only to be car- ried out outdoors!) or rinsed. The lter must be com- pletely dry before putting it back in.

• Press the “SPEED” button three-times so that the device switches to the slowest air speed.(LOW lamp lights up on the control panel.) Inserting and changing batteries in the remote control

• Remove the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the remote control by withdrawing the bracket while lifting the cover.

• Insert the batteries (type AAA) (not included in the scope of delivery). Ensure correct polarity.

• Insert the battery compartment cover again.

10. Electrical connection

The electrical motor installed is connected and ready for operation. The connection complies with the appli- cable VDE and DIN provisions. The customer‘s mains connection as well as the ex- tension cable used must also comply with these reg- ulations. Damaged electrical connection cable The insulation on electrical connection cables is often damaged. This may have the following causes:

• Pressure points, where connection cables are passed through windows or doors.

• Kinks where the connection cable has been improp- erly fastened or routed.

• Places where the connection cables have been cut due to being driven over.

• Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the wall outlet.

• Cracks due to the insulation ageing. Such damaged electrical connection cables must not be used and are life-threatening due to the insulation damage. Check the electrical connection cables for damage regularly. Ensure that the connection cables are dis- connected from electrical power when checking for damage. Electrical connection cables must comply with the ap- plicable VDE and DIN provisions. Only use connection cables of the same designation. The printing of the type designation on the connection cable is mandatory.www.scheppach.com

• The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin means that waste electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste.

• Waste electrical and electronic equipment can be handed in free of charge at the following places: - Public disposal or collection points (e.g. municipal works yards) - Points of sale of electrical appliances (stationary and online), provided that dealers are obliged to take them back or o󰀨er to do so voluntarily. - Up to three waste electrical devices per type of device, with an edge length of no more than 25 centimetres, can be returned free of charge to the manufacturer without prior purchase of a new device from the manufacturer or taken to another authorised collection point in your vicinity. - Further supplementary take-back conditions of the manufacturers and distributors can be ob- tained from the respective customer service.

• If the manufacturer delivers a new electrical appli- ance to a private household, the manufacturer can arrange for the free collection of the old electrical appliance upon request from the end user. Please contact the manufacturer’s customer service for this. These statements only apply to devices installed and sold in the countries of the European Union and which are subject to the European Directive 2012/19/EU. In countries outside the European Union, di󰀨erent regula- tions may apply to the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Information on the battery act [BattG] Old batteries and rechargeable batteries do not belong in household waste, but must be collected or disposed of separately!

• For safe removal of primary batteries or recharge- able batteries from the electrical appliance and for information on their type or chemical system, please refer to the additional information in the operating or assembly instructions.

• Owners or users of primary batteries and recharge- able batteries are legally obliged to return them after use. The return is limited to household quantities.

• Old batteries may contain pollutants or heavy met- als that can harm the environment or human health. Recycling old batteries and using the resources they contain helps to protect these two important issues.

• An arrow is imprinted on the external lter (6) which shows the air ow direction. Ensure that the lter is inserted in the correct direction (Fig. 7). Service information With this product, it is necessary to note that the follow- ing parts are subject to natural or usage-related wear, or that the following parts are required as consuma- bles. 14. Disposal and recycling

Notes for packaging The packaging materials are recy- clable. Please dispose of packag- ing in an environmentally friendly manner. Notes on the electrical and electronic equipment act [ElektroG] Waste electrical and electronic equipment does not belong in household waste, but must be collected and disposed of sepa- rately! Used batteries or rechargeable batteries that are not installed permanently in the old appliance must be re- moved non-destructively before disposal. Their dispos- al is regulated by the battery law.

• Owners or users of electrical and electronic devices are legally obliged to return them after use.
