General Power Tool Safety Warnings

WARNING

Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications

tions provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

Work area safety

  • Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  • Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

Electrical safety

Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock. If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts. If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards. Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become complacent and ignore tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.

Power tool use and care

Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. - Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally. - Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users. - Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools. - Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation. - Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.

Service

Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Safety Warnings for Screwdrivers

Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the fastener may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Fasteners contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and could give the operator an electric shock. Use suitable detectors to determine if utility lines are hidden in the work area or call the local utility company for assistance. Contact with electric lines can lead to fire and electric shock. Damaging a gas line can lead to explosion. Penetrating a water line causes property damage or may cause an electric shock. Hold the power tool securely. When tightening and loosening screws be prepared for temporarily high torque reactions. - Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a vice is held more secure than by hand. Always wait until the power tool has come to a complete stop before placing it down. The application tool can jam and cause you to lose control of the power tool.

Products sold in GB only:

Your product is fitted with a BS 1363/A approved electric plug with internal fuse (ASTA approved to BS 1362).

If the plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place by an authorized customer service agent. The replacement plug should have the same fuse rating as the original plug.

The severed plug must be disposed of to avoid a possible shock hazard and should never be inserted into a mains socket elsewhere.

The specifications apply to a rated voltage [U] of 230V . These specifications may vary at different voltages and in country-specific models.

Noise/vibration information

Noise emission values determined according to EN 62841-2-2.

Typically, the A-weighted noise level of the power tool is: Sound pressure level 84 dB(A); sound power level

95 dB(A). Uncertainty K = 3 dB .

Wear hearing protection!

Vibration total values ah (triax vector sum) and uncertainty K determined according to EN 62841-2-2: Screwdriving: ah < 2.5m / s2,K = 1.5m / s2

The vibration level and noise emission value given in these instructions have been measured in accordance with a standardised measuring procedure and may be used to compare power tools. They may also be used for a preliminary estimation of vibration and noise emissions.

The stated vibration level and noise emission value represent the main applications of the power tool. However, if the power tool is used for other applications, with different application tools or is poorly maintained, the vibration level and noise emission value may differ. This may significantly increase the vibration and noise emissions over the total working period.

To estimate vibration and noise emissions accurately, the times when the tool is switched off or when it is running but not actually being used should also be taken into account.

This may significantly reduce vibration and noise emissions over the total working period.

Implement additional safety measures to protect the operator from the effects of vibration, such as servicing the power tool and application tools, keeping their hands warm, and organising workflows correctly.

Assembly

Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any work on the power tool.

Changing the Tool (see figure A)

Pull the screw depth stop (4) off towards you. Pull the screwdriver bit (1) out. If required, the universal bit holder (10) can also be pulled out and replaced. After changing the tool, reattach the screw depth stop (4).

Operation

Starting Operation

Pay attention to the mains voltage. The voltage of the power source must match the voltage specified on the rating plate of the power tool. Power tools marked with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V. ▶ Products that are only sold in AUS and NZ: Use a residual current device (RCD) with a nominal residual current of 30 mA or less.

Setting the Rotational Direction

Only push the rotational direction switch (6) when the power tool is not in use.

The rotational direction switch (6) is used to change the rotational direction of the power tool. However, this is not possible while the on/off switch (8) is being pressed.

Clockwise rotation: To drill and drive in screws, slide the rotational direction switch (6) downwards on the left-hand side and upwards on the right-hand side at the same time.

Anticlockwise rotation: To loosen and unscrew screws, slide the rotational direction switch (6) downwards on the left-hand side and upwards on the right-hand side at the same time.

Switching on/off

To start the power tool, press and hold the on/off switch (8).

Press the lock-on button (7) to lock the on/off switch (8) in this position.

To switch off the power tool, release the on/off switch (8); or, if the switch is locked with the lock-on button (7), briefly press the on/off switch (8) and then release it.

Adjusting the Speed

You can adjust the speed of the power tool when it is on by pressing in the on/off switch (8) to varying extents.

A light pressure on the on/off switch (8) results in a low rotational speed. Increased pressure on the switch causes an increase in speed.

Adjusting the screw-in depth (see figure B)

The depth to which the screw head is screwed into the workpiece X can be preset by turning the adjusting sleeve (3) to 8 engaging steps for each rotation. Each step corresponds to a 0.25 mm change in the screw-in depth.

Turning the adjusting sleeve (3) clockwise increases the screw-in depth; turning it anticlockwise decreases the screw-in depth.

The best way to determine the setting you require is to drive in some test screws.

Practical advice

Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any work on the power tool. Only apply the power tool to the screw/nut when the tool is switched off. Rotating tool inserts can slip off.

Place the screw against the screwdriver bit (1). The screw will be held in place by the magnetic retention force of the universal bit holder (10). Forcefully press the tip of the screw against the material you wish to screw until the screw depth stop (4) rests on the workpiece.

Switch the power tool on. The screw is screwed into the workpiece until it reaches the set screw depth. The drive is disconnected; the tool holder stops rotating. Check the screw depth and adjust it if necessary.

Quick screw-in depth adjustment (see figure C)

The screw-in depth Y can be preset using the adjusting sleeve (3):

To loosen screws, slide the screw depth stop (4) towards the handle (9) until you hear a click.

Slide the rotational direction switch (6) upwards on the left-hand side and downwards on the right-hand side at the same time.

Switch on the power tool.

Belt clip

You can use the belt clip (5) to hang the power tool on a belt, for example. You then have both hands free and the power tool is always at hand.

Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users. Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.

Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.

Safety instructions

General safety instructions for electric tools

WARNINGS

Read all safety instructions, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this electric tool.

Improper use of the power tool can cause electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

Work area safety

Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.

By following these instructions, you can work safely with the power tool. Do not use the power tool if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while using the power tool can lead to serious injury. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Using protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-slip safety shoes, a hard hat, or hearing protection in appropriate conditions reduces the risk of injury. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before connecting to a power source, picking up, or carrying the tool. Carrying the power tool with your finger on the switch or energizing the tool with the switch on invites accidents. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts. If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards. Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of the power tool allow you to become complacent and ignore power tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.

Proper handling and use of power tools

Do not overload the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

To operate the power tool with a power tool, it is necessary to follow the safety instructions. The power tool, whether it is plugged in or not, is not safe and must be repaired immediately. Before adjusting, changing accessories, or storing the power tool, unplug it from the power source and/or remove the battery pack. These preventive safety measures reduce the risk of accidental starting of the power tool. Store the power tool out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate it. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation. Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.

Service

Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Safety instructions for screwdrivers

When performing work where the screw may contact hidden wiring or its own cord, hold the tool by insulated gripping surfaces. Contact with a live wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool live and shock the operator.

parts of the power tool and to electric shock.

To avoid damage to the power tool, use standard accessories or contact the manufacturer of electrical, gas, and water supply systems. Connecting the power tool to a gas pipe can cause an explosion. Connecting to a water pipe can cause electric shock due to material conductivity. Use only insulated tools. Unscrewing or screwing screws/nuts can cause short-term reactions. Close the processed workpiece. With the help of a clamping device or a press, the processed material is fixed to prevent its movement during handling. Before starting work, check that the power tool, cord, and plug are in good condition. For work, the tool can be replaced with any other, which will lead to loss of control over the power tool.

Safety instructions

General power tool safety warnings

WARNING

Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with

this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

Work area safety

Always keep the workspace well lit. Never use the tool in dark or poorly lit spaces. When working with power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust, be cautious. Power tools create sparks that could ignite the dust or fumes. Keep the tool away from children and bystanders while working with power tools. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

Electrical safety

The power tool plug must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. If water enters a power tool, it will increase the risk of electric shock. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling, or unplugging the power tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord

suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

WARNING! Be careful when working with electric tools. Do not use electric tools if you are tired, under the influence of alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention when working with electric tools may lead to serious personal injury. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

Use and care of electric tools

Do not force the electric tool. Use the correct electric tool for your application. The correct electric tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

If the power tool cannot be turned on and off with the switch, it is dangerous and must be repaired. Disconnect the power tool from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the power tool. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control. Use the power tool, accessories, tool bits, etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation. Keep handles and gripping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and gripping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.

Service

Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Safety warnings for grinding

Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, because the grinding disc may contact its own cord. If the grinding disc contacts a "live" wire, exposed metal parts of the power tool may become "live" and could give the operator an electric shock. Use appropriate dust extraction equipment to protect against and detect hidden electrical cables.

Consult your local authority regarding safe handling with electrical energy. Contact with electrical cables can lead to fire and electric shock. Gas detection can lead to explosion. Working in water pipes poses a risk of electric shock and can cause electric shock.

Hold the power tool firmly. When fastening and removing workpieces, high reactive moments may occur. Secure the workpiece being processed. Clamp it with clamps or a vice, the workpiece being processed is held securely with both hands. Wait until the power tool has completely stopped before putting it down. The tool being inserted can jam and lead to loss of control over the device.

The power tool is intended for operation on a power supply of 230V. This voltage may vary depending on the country of use.

Information about noise/vibration

The vibration values are determined according to EN 62841-2-2.

The sound level of the electric drill is typically as follows: Sound pressure level 84 dB(A); Sound power level 95 dB(A). Uncertainty K = 3 dB.

Wear hearing protection!

The vibration total value a (vector sum of three directions) and the uncertainty K are given in accordance with EN 62841-2-2:

3aBPTK: a<2,5m/s², K=1,5m/s²

The vibration emission value is given in accordance with the relevant part of the standard for measurement, and the measurement methods may be used for comparison between electric tools. It may also be used for a preliminary assessment of the vibration emission of the tool.

The declared vibration emission value of the tool represents the main applications of the electric tool. However, if the electric tool is used for other applications, with different accessories or poorly maintained, the vibration emission value of the tool may differ. This may significantly increase the vibration emission level over the total working period.

For an accurate assessment of the vibration emission level, the period during which the tool is switched off or running idle, and not in use, should also be taken into account. This may significantly reduce the vibration emission level over the total working period.

Additional safety measures to protect the operator from the effects of vibration, such as: maintaining the electric tools and accessories, keeping hands warm, organizing work patterns.

Maintenance, cleaning of the ventilation slots, organizing work patterns.

Assembly

Before any intervention on the electric tool, pull the plug out of the socket.

Tool maintenance (see figure A)

Turn the locking/unlocking ring (4) forward. Pull out the locking pin (1). If necessary, you can remove the universal bit holder (10) and replace it.

After successful replacement of the tool, reinsert the locking/unlocking ring (4).

Use

Starting operation

Pay attention to the mains voltage. The voltage of the power source must match the voltage given on the rating plate of the electric tool. Electric tools marked with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.

Set the direction of rotation

The rotary switch for changing the direction of rotation (6) can only be operated when the electric motor is at a standstill.

With the rotary switch for changing the direction of rotation (6), you can change the direction of rotation of the electric motor. The rotary switch for switching on/off (8) must be pressed first, otherwise it is not possible.

Right switch: Turning the rotary switch for the direction of rotation (6) to the right side moves the switch upward, and simultaneously the left side moves downward.

Left switch: Turning the rotary switch for the direction of rotation (6) to the left side moves the switch upward, and simultaneously the right side moves downward.

Switching on/off

To put the electric motor into operation, press the rotary switch for switching on/off (8) and hold it pressed.

To fix it, press the rotary switch for switching on/off (8) and press it towards the fixing position (7).

To switch off the electric motor, release the rotary switch for switching on/off (8). If it is locked with the fixing position (7), briefly press the rotary switch for switching on/off (8) and then release it.

Setting the number of revolutions

The number of revolutions of the switched-on electric motor can be adjusted steplessly, depending on how far you press the rotary switch for switching on/off (8).

With light pressing of the rotary switch for switching on/off (8), a low number of revolutions is achieved. With increasing pressure, the number of revolutions increases.

Adjusting the depth of rotation (see figure B)

The adjusting wheel (3) can be turned in 8 steps to select the depth of rotation for the material being processed. Each step corresponds to a change in depth of rotation of 0.25 mm.

The speed of the adjusting wheel (3) in the direction of the arrow on the switch increases the depth of rotation, and the speed in the opposite direction of the arrow on the switch decreases the depth of rotation.

It is best to proceed by first making a test rotation.

Work safety

Before any intervention on the electric tool, unplug it from the power source. The electric tool is equipped with a safety switch/lock switch. Before switching the tool on, make sure the switch is not blocked. The switch must be able to be pressed and released freely.

Place the bit for screwing (1) onto the screw head.

The bit is held by a magnet on the universal bit holder (10). Press the bit firmly onto the screw head and onto the material being worked on, until the depth stop for screwing/unscrewing (4) reaches the workpiece.

Switch on the electric tool. The bit will screw into the workpiece until the set depth is reached. The clutch for the torque is released: the tool stops turning. Check the screwing depth and adjust if necessary.

Fast operation for screwing depth (see figure C)

With the adjusting ring (3), the screwing depth can be set.

For screwing screws into the depth stop for screwing/unscrewing (4) in the desired direction (9) until it clicks into place.

Press the trigger for the speed setting (6) on the left side and simultaneously on the right side.

Switch on the electric tool.

Belt clip

With the belt clip (5), you can hang the electric tool on, for example, a belt. This way both hands are free, and the electric tool is always at hand.
