Grease filter

Fig. 14-32

Traps cooking grease particles.

This must be cleaned once a month (or when the filter saturation indication system - if envisaged on the model in possession - indicates this necessity) using non aggressive detergents, either by hand or in the dishwasher, which must be set to a low temperature and a short cycle.

When washed in a dishwasher, the grease filter may discolor slightly, but this does not affect its filtering capacity.

To remove the grease filter, pull the spring release handle.

Charcoal filter (filter version only)

Fig. 31

It absorbs unpleasant odors caused by cooking.

The charcoal filter can be washed once every two months (or when the filter saturation indication system - if envisaged on the model in possession - indicates this necessity) using hot water and a suitable detergent, or in a dishwasher at 65°C (if the dishwasher is used, select the full cycle function and leave dishes out).

Eliminate excess water without damaging the filter, then remove the mattress located inside the plastic frame and put it in the oven for 10 minutes at 100°C to dry completely. Replace the mattress every 3 years and when the cloth is damaged.

Remove the filter holder frame by turning the knobs (g) 90° that affix the chimney to the cooker hood.

Insert the pad (i) of activated carbon into the frame (h) and fit the whole back into its housing (j).

It is possible to use a traditional carbon filter, neither washable nor regenerable, to be replaced every 3 - 4 months.

The filter holder frame of the carbon filter is welded together; the eventual frame supplied with the hood is not, therefore, to be used.

Insert it into its housing and fix it turning the 2 plastic knobs.

Replacing lamps

The hood is equipped with a lighting system based on LED technology.

The LEDs guarantee an optimum lighting, a duration up to 10 times as long as the traditional lamps and allow to save 90% electrical energy.

Tips for correct use and to reduce environmental impact: Turn on the extractor at minimum speed before starting to cook and leave it running for a few minutes after cooking is finished. Increase the speed only when there is a large amount of smoke and vapors, and use the boost speed only in extreme cases. To maintain efficient odor extraction, replace the charcoal filter(s) when necessary. To maintain efficient grease filter performance, replace the grease filter(s) when necessary. Use the maximum diameter of the air exhaust system as indicated in the instructions to optimize efficiency and minimize noise.

The hood is designed for use in extraction mode, exhausting air outdoors, or in recirculation mode with air recirculation.

Use

The hood is designed for use in extraction mode, exhausting air outdoors, or in recirculation mode with air recirculation.

ELICA L64,5CM IX/A/60 - Use - 1

Extraction mode

In extraction mode, the hood exhausts air to the outside through an exhaust pipe connected to the flange.

ELICA L64,5CM IX/A/60 - Extraction mode - 1

WARNING!

The exhaust pipe is not supplied and must be purchased separately.

The diameter of the exhaust pipe must match the diameter of the outlet ring.

ELICA L64,5CM IX/A/60 - WARNING! - 1

WARNING!

If the hood is equipped with charcoal filters, they must be removed.

The end of the hood must be connected to an exhaust pipe with the same diameter as the hood outlet (with a flange).

Using flexible pipes and adapters with a smaller diameter will reduce the efficiency of operation and significantly increase the noise level.

Therefore, we disclaim any liability for the above.

! Use the shortest possible duct. ! Use a duct with a minimum number of bends (maximum bend angle: 90°). ! Avoid sudden changes in the cross-section of the duct.

Version with recirculation

The air is drawn in, filtered, and then returned to the room. To use the hood in recirculation mode, it is necessary to install a carbon filter system with activated carbon.

Hood models without a motor block can operate only in one mode: exhaust air to the outside, so they must be connected to an external exhaust system (not included in the supply).

Installation instructions for connection

equipment.

Installation

The distance from the lower part of the hood to the cooking surface must be at least 50 cm for electric hobs, and 65 cm for gas or combined hobs.

It is necessary to take into account the distances specified in the installation instructions for gas hobs.

The voltage in the electrical network must correspond to the characteristics indicated on the label located inside the hood. If the hood is supplied with a plug for connection to the electrical network, connect the plug to a socket that complies with current standards and is accessible. If the hood is not supplied with a plug (direct connection to the electrical network) or the socket is not accessible, install a certified omnipolar switch to ensure complete disconnection from the network in case of overvoltage category III, in full compliance with installation rules.

WARNING!

Before reconnecting the hood to the electrical network, check that the installation is correct, so that the control of the network is properly installed.

  • Check the dimensions of the device supplied to you according to the selected installation location. Remove the filter/cap from the inlet/outlet (the inlet/outlet also has the corresponding dimensions). The filter/cap is reinstalled depending on whether you want to use the hood in recirculation mode.
  • Check that no objects have been left inside the hood during transport (e.g., packages with screws, warranty cards, etc.). If any, remove them and keep them.

The mounting kit includes screws for fixing, calculated for standard walls/ceilings. However, it is necessary to contact a qualified technician to verify the suitability of the materials depending on the type of wall or ceiling. The wall/ceiling must be strong enough to support the weight of the hood.
