When using the equipment, a few safety precautions must be observed to avoid injuries and damage. Please read the complete operating instructions and safety regulations with due care. Keep this manual in a safe place, so that the information is available at all times. If you give the equipment to any other person, hand over these operating instructions and safety regulations as well. We cannot accept any liability for damage or accidents which arise due to a failure to follow these instructions and the safety instructions.

Also, refer to the warranty table in the warranty provisions at the end of the operating instructions.

• Open the packaging and take out the equipment with care.
• Remove the packaging material and any packaging and/or transportation braces (if available).
  Check to see if all items are supplied.
• Inspect the equipment and accessories for transport damage.
  If possible, please keep the packaging until the end of the guarantee period.

3. Proper use

This equipment is designed for clearing away and gathering dry to slightly damp leaves and grass from paved areas and lawns. Small, light-weight rubbish such as cigarettes, twigs, paper, etc. can be gathered from asphalted garden paths or lawns by blowing into piles.

The equipment is allowed to be used only for its prescribed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user/operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for any damage or injuries of any kind resulting from such misuse.

Important!

The equipment is supplied without batteries and without a charger and is allowed to be used only with the lithium-ion batteries of the Power X-Change series!

The lithium-ion batteries of the Power X-Change series are allowed to be charged only with Power X-Chargers.

Warning:

The vibration and noise emission levels may vary from the level specified during actual use, depending on the way in which the power tool is used, especially the type of workpiece it is used for.

Keep the noise emissions and vibrations to a minimum.

Only use appliances which are in perfect working order.
Service and clean the appliance regularly.
Adapt your working style to suit the appliance.
Do not overload the appliance.
- Have the appliance serviced whenever necessary.
- Switch the appliance off when it is not in use.
Wear protective gloves.
- Fit the handle and the optional vibration handles, if necessary, firmly onto the machine body.

Limit the operating time!

All stages of the operating cycle must be considered (for example, times in which the electric tools are switched off and times in which the tool is switched on but operates without load).

Caution!

Residual risks

Even if you use this electric power tool in accordance with instructions, certain residual risks cannot be rules out. The following hazards may arise in connection with the equipment's construction and layout:

1. Lung damage if no suitable protective dust mask is used.
2. Damage to hearing if no suitable ear protection is used.
3. Health damage caused by hand-arm vibrations if the equipment is used over a prolonged period or is not properly guided and maintained.
4. Eye injuries caused by particles of dirt. Always wear safety goggles, thick long trousers, gloves and sturdy footwear.

5. Before starting the equipment

Important!

The machine is supplied without batteries and without a charger!

Warning!

Always remove the battery pack before making adjustments to the equipment.

5.1 Fitting the arm support with strap (Fig. 3)

Slide the arm support with strap (Item 2) fully onto the tool until the tabs (L) latch into the openings

(M) on the arm support.

5.2 Fitting the battery (Fig. 4)

Important! Before fitting the battery, always turn the On-Off -Speed controller (Fig. 9 / Item 5) to the left in the "-" direction until it stops in order to switch off the tool (see section 6.1). Push the battery into the battery mount provided. When the battery is pushed in fully it will engage audibly.

To remove the battery, press the pushlock button (Item C) and pull out the battery.

5.3 Charging the battery (Fig. 5)

1. Take the battery pack out of the equipment. Do this by pressing the pushlock button.
2. Check that your mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Insert the power plug of the charger into the socket outlet. The green LED will then begin to blink.
3. Insert the battery pack into the charger.
4. In section „Charger indicator" you will find a table with an explanation of the LED indicator on the charger.

The battery pack can become a little warm during the charging. This is normal.

If the battery pack fails to charge, check:

whether there is voltage at the socket outlet
whether there is good contact at the charging contacts

If the battery pack still fails to charge, send

the charging unit
and the battery pack

to our customer service center.

To ensure that items are properly packaged and delivered when you send them to us, please contact our customer service or the point of sale at which the equipment was purchased.

When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless tools, always ensure that they are packed individually in plastic bags to prevent short circuits and fi res.

To ensure that the battery pack provides long service, you should take care to recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the performance of the device drops. Never allow the battery pack to become fully discharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.

5.4 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 6)

Press the button for the battery capacity indicator (A). The battery capacity indicator (B) shows the charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.

All 3 LEDs are lit:

The battery is fully charged.

2 or 1 LED(s) are lit:

The battery has an adequate remaining charge.

1 LED fil ashes:

The battery is empty, recharge the battery.

All LEDs blink:

The battery temperature is too low. Remove the battery from the equipment, keep it at room temperature for one day. If the fault reoccurs, this means that the rechargeable battery has undergone exhaustive discharge and is defective. Remove the battery from the equipment. Never use or charge a defective battery.

5.5 Fitting the blow attachment (Fig. 7)

To create a more targeted air current, place the blow attachment (Item 11) onto the air outlet (Fig. 2 / Item 10) and twist it to the left to latch it into place.

6. Operation

Caution!

If you point the air flow at other people, animals or objects (e.g. windows), this could cause injuries and damage. Check that all the components are correctly seated.

• Point the air flow away from yourself.
• Never point the air flow at other people, animals or objects.
• Do not blow away any hard objects such as stones or branches.

6.1 Fastening the strap (Fig. 8a - 8b)

Grasp between the arm support (Item 2a) and the strap (Item 2b). Pull the strap taut and press the loose end of the strap onto the tightened strap.

6.2 Switching the tool on/off, speed control (Fig. 9)

The tool is equipped with a combination on/off switch and speed controller (Item 5). Turn the setting wheel to the right (+) to switch on the tool and increase the speed. Turn it to the left (-)

to reduce the speed and switch off the tool by turning it as far as the stop. You will note a slight resistance and hear a click when you switch the tool on and off. The number of LEDs that are lit (1 - 5) (Item 6) indicates the set speed.

Use the equipment only with the blowing velocity needed for the job.

6.3 Turbo mode (Fig. 9)

If you need a higher blowing velocity for a short time, you can press the TURBO button (Item 4).

Important: Press the TURBO button only when absolutely necessary, to reduce the noise generated and to extend the running time of the battery pack.

Press the button again to switch off TURBO mode. TURBO mode also switches off automatically after about 45 seconds.

When TURBO mode is switched on, the LEDs act as chaser lights.

6.4 Positioning the motor unit (Fig. 10)

You can angle the motor unit (Item 9) to meet your needs by pressing the locking button (Item 8) for motor unit angle adjustment and then releasing it. There are 4 different settings available.

6.5 Blowing foliage

• Turn on the machine (see section 6.2).
• Set the desired blowing velocity with the speed controller (see section 6.2).
• Direct the air stream forward and walk slowly to blow foliage or garden refuse into a pile or to remove it from hard-to-reach places.
  To increase the blowing velocity for a short time, use TURBO mode (see section 6.3).

Danger!

Never gather (blow) hot, combustible or explosive materials into piles.

7. Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts

Danger!

Always pull out the battery pack before starting any cleaning work.

7.1 Cleaning

• Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
  We recommend that you clean the device immediately each time you have finished using it.
  Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.

7.2 Maintenance

• Should the tool experience problems beyond those mentioned above, let only an authorised professional or a customer service shop perform an inspection.
  There are no other parts inside the equipment which require maintenance.

8. Faults

The equipment does not work:

Check that the battery is charged and that the charger is working. If the equipment will not work in spite of the voltage supply being OK, please send it to the customer service address provided.

9. Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse. The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask in your local council offices.

10. Storage

Remove the rechargeable battery/batteries. Store the equipment and accessories out of children's reach in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30^ . Store the electric tool in its original packaging.

Disposal

Power tools, rechargeable batteries, accessories and packaging should be sorted for environmental-friendly recycling.

Do not dispose of power tools and batteries/rechargeable batteries into household waste!
