5 Gas leaks
Gas leaks from damaged hoses or improper connections can create hazardous conditions and must be addressed immediately. It is vital that all gas connections have been correctly fitted to prevent gas leaks.
How to carry out a gas leak test
A gas leak test must be performed with every use, and every time a cartridge is connected or exchanged.

NOTE A leaking gas cartridge can only be detected by the smell of gas. It is still necessary to perform a gas leak test at the hose connection points to confirm secure connection.

DANGER! Failure to identify and control a gas leak may result in potential injury or death.
To carry out a gas leak test, apply soapy water to all connection points.
Make sure that the control knob on the Power Pak is closed, then slowly turn the appliance control knob anti-clockwise to allow the gas to flow.
If bubbles form on any connection point, then there is a gas leak.
Immediately turn the gas off, move to a well ventilated location and disconnect the gas supply from the appliance.
Reconnect the gas supply to the appliance and re-perform the gas leak test.
Should the gas leak persist, return the product to your authorized repair agent for assistance.
6 Assembly and gas cartridge fitment
Important: Ensure that the control knob on the Power Pak and that all control knobs on the gas barbecue appliance are fully closed before use.
Connecting the device to a gas barbecue appliance
Fig. 3 on page 2
The Power Pak must be used with an approved hose assembly.
Ensure that the hose is securely attached to the gas outlet nozzle of the Power Pak. The inclusion of a quick release coupling facilitates the hose connection onto the Power Pak.
Connect the brass nut on the end of the hose to the inlet of the gas barbecue appliance you wish to operate, and use the hand-wheel to tighten the connection. Certain models may include a quick-release (QR) connector for easier connection.
Confirm all hose connections are secure before use.
Connecting the gas cartridges
The Power Pak uses CADAC Dometic 220 g or 227 g bayonet type cartridges (a maximum of 4), or any other locally approved 220 g or 227 g butane-propane mixture cartridges.
Inserting the gas cartridges
Fig. 4 on page 3
Open up the back cover of the Power Pak.
Insert the gas cartridges into the unit, starting with the 2 lower gas cartridges, and then the 2 upper gas cartridges. Keep the gas cartridge in a horizontal position with the notch (A) facing upwards and align this notch with the guide locator (B) on the inside of the Power Pak.
Once aligned, push the gas cartridge inwards and turn it clockwise to lock. Insert a maximum of 4 cartridges.
Once all cartridges are securely inserted, shut the back cover, make sure the clip is engaged. Position the safety lock so as to prevent accidental opening of the back cover.

To shut off the gas flow, turn the control knob fully clockwise.
Ensure that the gas flow is shut off when the device is not in use, and each time a gas cartridge is removed or exchanged.
Operating the device
